EMAW isn't an acronym.

It is a way of life.

This appears to be mainly an initialism thread.

That may be the case, just trying to make it easier for green horns like me to run with the BITB  :gocho:

Hello fellow EMAW friends,

I am rather new to the site, and there are quite the plenty of outstanding acronyms that get thrown around on this site.

Trouble is, I don't know what all of them are.  So I decided I will make a thread for other fellow new goEMAWers to clear up some of the acronyms.

I will edit them as we get more veteran responses to what they are.

Lets kick it off:

BITB - Best in the business
DITR - Diamond in the rough
BBSing - Bulliten Board Systeming, basically message boarding
OB - Old Balls
TSC - Team State Conference
T's & P's- Thoughts and Prayers
TIA - ???
SLTH - Solid long term hire(correct me if I'm wrong)
PI - ???
OOD - Octagon of doom
MOAP - ???

I'm sure there are other so feel free to add your own.

I continue to be amazed at the hospitality of the SEC folks that I run into (I know, I know, until they get us on the football field.).

I'm in Tupelo, MS. I held the door for an older man and his wife to get on the elevator - we started chatting (I was getting ready to work out and had my Mizzou gear on) and come to find out, he and his wife are from Tennessee and are avid Vol fans. They immediately said "Welcome" when I said I was from Missouri and said "We already know all about your team". I mentioned I was at the Volunteer Spring game and he said so were they.

He asked me to wait in the lobby and he came back in, gave me his contact information and proceeded to draw out a map on a napkin showing me exactly where his tailgate was for Tennessee home games. He and his wife said they would like my wife and I to stop by and have a few drinks with them before the game. He also asked about tickets (I said I always find them at the game) and he said he was going to call a friend who had a spare pair if I was interested.

But these people couldn't have been nicer. I'm running into that throughout the south. I loved the SEC move from the beginning and didn't think it possible, but I'm loving it more every day.

I live in Tupelo and let me tell you. Southern hospitality is a rough ridin' dirty myth.  I have stopped holding doors open for people because they never say thanks, and also because they don't ever hold doors open for me.

Now, unless you are one of the good ol boys(read  :opcat:), then you will get more hospitality then you know what to do with.

30 for 30 is amazing to people who have never watched a documentary in their life

I imagine a good portion of goEMAW and ESPN's viewers have never watched a documentary in their life, so there you go.

I would imagine you are wrong.

MMMMM guys and dolls

How do you console a Mizzou fan? Maybe tip 25% instead of 20%.

Boom roasted.

Here is the ESPN recap of KU's spring game:

Quarterback Dayne Crist completed 11-of-19 passes for 156 yards, and Jake Heaps completed 7-of-10 passes for 106 yards and the game's only touchdown pass. He hit former QB Kale Pick for a 46-yard gain on a flea flicker early in the game.

Running back Anthony Pierson rushed for 141 yards on seven carries, including an 88-yard touchdown run, 20 yards longer than any Kansas play from scrimmage in 2011.

Daymond Patterson had five receptions for 64 yards and Pick had four catches for 82 yards.

Marquis Jackson rushed 10 times for 76 yards and three scores.

Michael Reynolds had five tackles and four tackles for loss, including three sacks. Nice day.

Corrigan Powell led all tacklers with eight stops.

Blue won, 45-0.

A crowd of 15,000 reportedly showed.

I sure hope they had enough deodorant for all of those fans, would be shame if some of the devoted KU football fan base went home empty handed.

Kansas State Football / Currie is having a Fiesta!

So what do we make of this move by Currie?

Think it could have a positive look for KSU on the BCS scene till playoffs arrive?

Your 14 team league has a division with 8 teams

Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2

You're right.  For the 14 team league scenario, I should have said we'll be in the east division with WVU, FSU, Miami, Clem, GaTech and ISU OR KU.

From your earlier post, I agree that playing in texas less "might" hurt ksu's recruiting in texas, but would you agree that playing 2 teams from florida might open up recruiting more in that state for ksu?   I hope the conference grows to 16 teams but I think ksu will adjust if the Big12 goes to 14.

It's certainly possible.  I just have a hard time seeing that.

Assuming the 10-team scenario: If we recruit a kid from the DFW metroplex, his family will know that he'll be playing in Texas twice a year and that Manhattan is a fairly easy drive up the interstate if they want to go to the home games.

Assuming the 12 or 14-team scenarios: If we recruit a kid from the Miami area, his family will know that he'll be playing in Florida once per year and that Manhattan is an expensive plane ride away if they want to go to the home games.

The two scenarios just don't compare IMO.

Yeah but you are saying that like we already have a huge recruiting pipe line to Florida.  If anything that might give us a shot as some recruits that we would not have got period. 1 trip home > 0 trips home.

EDIT: All I keep hearing is EVERYDAY IM SHUFFLING

2692

Hey eff you man, aint nothing wrong with Mac town.

No dood Mac Pussy reeks of that putrid sulfur smell.  They try so hard to be an industrious area.  I would never want to live in such a successful craphole.

Someone has obviously never had mac town tang.

2693
I bet their best offensive lineman could crack our 2nd string line. He'd obviously be the worst lineman on the second string, but he'd still be there.

I think that is Hankinson and he sucks.  We destroyed his face.  He cried at half time in 2010

Isn't he from McPherson, anyone from McPherson is a big pussy.  IMO

Hey eff you man, aint nothing wrong with Mac town.

2694
I can honestly say that I would prefer FSU and Miami to FSU and Clemson.

meh, I feel no difference between the two.

I just like trying to keep 2 teams per state, other than Texas, who can have as many teams as they please, and West Virginia, a shitty state who is fortunate to even have one team.

Don't forget about Iowa!

2695
What's wrong with being a big 12/home state homer?

I don't every really cheer against any team from the big 12(except texas, because really tuck fexas). Especially KU.  The only time I cheer against them is when we play them, and even then I am just cheering for KSU and not KU.

No really, tuck fexas.

2696
BRING THEM BOTH IN AND SHAKE THE RAFTERS #hurricane4KSU #gottlieb4ksu

2697
I don't want him as a rough ridin' AC.

I'm ok with him being AC with the hurricane as HC.

Good lord WHY NOT TAKE BOTH OF THEM PEOPLE.

2698
I'm still riding the bandwagon of:

Bring in the Hurricane as HC.

Bring in dougie fresh as an assistant.

Could probably get BOTH of them for under 2.5 mil, maybe even under 2 mil.  If they preform up their contracts and bask in the glory of wildcat basketball.

Let
the
good
times
roll.

2699
But no for real guys just imagine how bonertastic it could be.

Hire the hurricane as the HC.

Hire dougie fresh as an assistant coach.

Hurricane rounds up the recruits, and dougie fresh turns them into basketball machines.

It's the birth of a glorious era.  And logically we could probably net both of them for under 2.5 mil.

Good god I have a raging broner just thinking about it.

2700
Hurricane/Gottlieb for co-head coaches

THISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Or picture this scenario.

We pick up hurricane as HC. (HELLO RECRUITS)

We pick up Doug as assistant. (HELLO X'S and O'S)

That way when Hurricane bounces for a head coaching job else where(Sorry you know it will probably happen) DOUGGIE FRESH WILL TAKE THE REINS!!!!!!!

Good lord the proverbial crap storm we could rain down on the big 12 would be glorious.
