“Moose are dangerous animals. So we recommend if people see them out in southern Minnesota, certainly take pictures and videos but do not approach,” said Keller.

Disagree, Ms. Keller. Just crack a knee right off the bat.

wolves were already making their way back towards rocky mountain national park and they estimated they'd have a population in the next couple years one way or the other.

Back in the late '70s on one winter day in Albuquerque when it was around 70 degrees my wife and I decided to go to the Hot Springs about 50 miles east in the Rocky Mountains.  Since we were on my bike, it got fairly cold as we went over the pike.  As we were going down on the other side it started to get dark so we camped at a roadside view area.  When we woke up the next morning, it had snowed about a foot deep but it was still and the sun came out.  As we were packing the bike, an big as eff grey wolf came across the road around 100 yards from us.  It stopped and looked at us and I guess it didn't want anything to do with bikers crazy enough to be camping and cruising in the mountains in the middle of winter.  That was the only wolf I had ever seen in the wild.
Hot time in Kat town tonight.

I saw a wolf in New Mexico once.  Camping with nothing but a sleeping bag and covered with a foot of snow by morning, ever tried to ride a cycle (HD) down a mountain with a foot of snow?

Tater is pushing 60 lbs.  He would smash that maze like a tooth pick.  He's also half cattle dog so he'd probably just bark and turn in circles until I got the bowl for him.

Guys....the bird is back with a vengeance. He has been none stop hammering himself into my kitchen window for a couple of week. I recently moved my office upstairs and its way more annoying. I hate this little bastard with all my being. His nest is right there in the bush next to the window and I've tried to reason with him by telling him I'm going to burn his house down and kill his family, but he won't listen.

Just move the nest to a new tree and see if that helps....or just use the red ryder

If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

So 2 years ago they had chicks in that tree and the chicks lived long enough to fly off.

Apparently owls will return to places that they had success, because they don’t build nests the way most birds do apparently.

Will report on future chicks

We have a great horned owl in the trees by the creek behind our house. It hoots and, folks, it hoots loudly. when it's really getting after it the hoots become somewhat annoying. just out there hootin' its ass off.

We have one close, (his name is Hootie) and he competes with another owl just up the street (his name is Hootie as well). When they start compete hooting, its really something.

Safe to say owls are a hoot. But they're also stealthy, ruthless killers, when need be.

My biggest startled moment happened one dark morning on a run. I came bopping down the street and our neighborhood owl took flight from the middle of the street. I'd apparently interrupted his breakfast. Man, that thing was huge. Spotted him later sitting on the neighbor's roof peak.

And I agree. Fascinating birds.

I was walking the dog one night and came face to face with an owl at eye level. It was perched on the luggage rack of an SUV and I had no idea it was there until I got even with it (Maybe 2 ft away) and it whomp whomped its wings to fly away.

For the same reason my cat hasn't killed me yet. It had sized you up and realized you could overpower it. That's a sign of intelligence.

Owls have to be my favorite bird of prey.
