This late-90s cardboard box from Varney’s Bookstore serves as my aluminum recycling container. It has stayed with me for over half of my lifetime:

My ring doorbell caught a fox rummaging around in a flower pot on the front porch this morning. I haven't seen as many of them around this year compared with the past 3 - 4 years. I think my house is turning into some sort of wildlife sanctuary.

Saw this buck chasing a doe thru the middle of town at 2pm yesterday afternoon. This location is over half a mile inside the city limits. The rut is making these deer incredibly horny:

Pulling out of my driveway this weekend and saw a completely white squirrel in my front yard. Been on the lookout since to get a pic, but haven't seen him/her again. It was really cool. I bet he/her is a total stud in the squirrel community.

That doe may be in danger. Did you call the police?

Saw this awesome owl while walking the dog tonight. Closest I’ve ever been to an owl.

I smoked a buck last night at about 60mph. They are so dumb during rut season.

Glad you are okay. Was your vehicle totaled?
Rifle season starts in Kansas today so those stupid things are going to be even more of a hazard to motorists.

Luckily not totaled which is wild because I was in a Honda accord. It dented the hood some and a small part of the roof but the trusty honda is still running. He basically barrel rolled and somehow miraculously didn't even mess up the windshield. Wildest part for me was given where I live it wasn't there it was actually on Seth Childs by top of the world.

That area has to be packed with deer. I about 2 yrs ago, I was driving on 24 by the shooting range when my kiddo asked me how airbags work. Not a minute later a buck stepped out in front of our car and totaled it. First deer strike I had been involved with. I didn't see it until it was on the highway a split second before I smashed it and deployed the airbags.

According to my mom, she has been witnessing eagles absolutely destroying geese the past couple days.

Eagles are back at it with two eggs in the nest. Absolutely horrible weather for incubating eggs in south central Kansas right now.
