I have/had multiple coworkers with kids that are sophomores to seniors in HS.  Almost none of their kids these ages care at all about getting their drivers licenses.  Is this a kids these days thing, a small metro area thing (Tulsa sized & bigger) or just a Tulsa thing?  Anyone else noticing this?  Also, their parents don't seem to care that they could stop taxiing their kids around and have a free taxi for their younger kids.  It's very strange to me.
I got a guy on the other line about some white walls

My oldest graduated HS in 2017 and had no desire to get a license until we made her get it junior year (didn't have full license until a senior). Our middle, we made him get his license freshman year, because he was so involved in school activities that there was no way we were driving him back and forth (25 mile round trip from our house to the high school).  Neither really had any desire to get one, they can see/talk to their friends anytime they want via internet, so why go anywhere?  Now both of them drive everywhere. Our youngest will be 14 in October, and is the only one that really wants to get a license as soon as possible. She's also the one that scares me the most when it comes to the idea of her driving....

Be nice. Help when she asks. Help when she doesn't ask. Take turns getting up in the middle of the night or take shifts. She takes the first one. You take the second and let her sleep in a bit.

It's not babysitting. It's being a dad.

Enjoy every minute of it. I just sent mine to college today. Seems like it was just yesterday that I was changing her diaper.

At first you will be super tired and it will suck an incredible amount but that passes quickly. Your entire life will change and you’ll quit playing kickball.

Rock the baby and watch sports for hours while it sleeps and your wife gets some rest. Win/win/win.

don't be that dad that makes your wife do everything.

sounds like you both have family close by, let them help you, especially just leaving your baby with them for a few hours on a friday night to go have dinner.  they'll like it, and it's good for you and your wife.

I'm fully invested on having all hands on deck. Pretty much why I've had this 8 month bachelor party tour this last year. I have my game face on now and i'm starting to get excited and terrified at the same time. All good advice, guys. Chum, that sounds like a blast. M^2, we fully plan on doing that as well. Times like these are when I love her huge family. They do a wonderful job of helping out with her brothers kids. We're planning on flying out her step mom with us to Marco, Fl in November to watch some cats bball and so the mrs can lay by the beach and we have a baby sitter with us. Everybody wins!

It could come early. Both mine did by two weeks. Change to two weeks out and if you get two more consider that a bonus.

You can not even imagine yet how your life is about to change.  The love you will feel for your child is something you have never felt before.  Relish every moment you spend with him/her.  Mrs. Wacky is going to be wiped out for a few days so step up and take care of the majority of baby duties until she gets her strength back.  Big PSA: If some doctor or nutrition specialist tells you that the baby needs to eat every 2 hours or whatever, take that as a generalization.   If that baby is sleeping, LET IT SLEEP!  He/she will wake up and let you know it's hungry.  Also, like others have said, babies' bones are made of rubber.  Support the head/neck but other than that, they are pretty resilient.

Man, Wacky is making kids. Pretty cool.

I have a senior this year. Financial aid package done and accepted to Northern Kentucky pre-pharmacy. She's counting the days to moving to campus. I'm just trying to keep it together.

How's it going?  Assuming semester just started or did she start a semester early?

She moved into her dorm yesterday. Classes start on Monday. I was fairly emotional yesterday. No blubbering sobbing. Just melancholy.
