Lefty, good people deserve good things.

And you are not a good person.

Sams is very fun to watch. Man he's got talent. I love it. But I also love wins. Sams didn't beat Okie St or Baylor when he had the chance.

Look, I can see why people would have some caution with Sams, mainly due to a couple really bad throws in crucial situations. And to be fair, even with a small sample size having 12.5% of his passes intercepted is not a good thing.

IMHO its still too early to make a real definitive conclusion on Sams either way, but I think I've seen enough to say there is a great potential for him to be a very good quarterback at K-State. Not just for the future, but for the rest of this season.

lefty, we are a team thats 2-4 with a loss to an fcs team, there are far more better things to bitch about than our best player on our roster. more than likely waters will be our starter saturday so in all reality this thread is you bitching about our back up sophomore

Yes he made some bad throws at OSU. So if you're "not sold" on Smas, as your thread title states, are you suggesting we play Jake Waters at quarterback? Because I'm not sold on his ability to help the Cats get touchdown plays.

This year Sams is clearly the guy. I'm talking about next year and year after. I dont' think Sams can evolve into the QB guy we need to get back to the next level.

Snyder QBs improve with age, like fine wines. He's good now with flashes of greatness, and if you don't think he'll improve tremendously his junior and senior years then you haven't followed KSU Foozeball much over the past 25 seasons. #Truth

would have never even been in those "crucial" situations if it wasnt for sams. are you guys forgetting who our other qb is?

If Sams would have played the entirety of those games, we more than likely would have been playing with a lead at the end of both of those games.

if sams played our tune up games we would have won them AND he would have not made the bad decision interceptions. because he would have been tuned up.

I agree wholeheartedly with this as well. And I can't figure out why the Coaches don't see it this way. But it doesn't change the fact that Sams didn't come through when given the chance.

I get that, but I don't think its fair to let Sams off the hook for two terrible throws based on "what ifs". He made bad throws and we lost, but yes he played really well in both games.

Lefty's point may be a bit much, but the premise that Sams has had opportunities to win games and made crucial mistakes in each is accurate. We had leads in both 4th quarters and he played the majority of the snaps in each game. Its not fair or respectful to Sams to let him off the hook based on what are largely arbitrary reasons IMHO. I don't believe he'd give himself those excuses, and we shouldn't either.

That said, I think he is going to be a very good (or even great) quarterback at K-State.

The were bad decisions to make terrible passes. All he has to do is decide not to throw them.

I don't know and that's a big problem as I crunch numbers in my head. Sharp surely won't be ready. Waters will be Waters, a gifted practice player. I will wager that Ertz transfers. The truth will be played out next season as Sams assumes the commanding lead. I imagine he'll give us the 8-4 season with ease, but I want higher goals than that.

The bad thing is elite teams have a defense to match the offense and with Snyder's recruiting, our D will be pieced together again.

we need a better rb, a big receiver (that can catch consistently) a true lock down corner, a better oline, and a dline that can get more pressure. You can fault sams for his bad decisions and i wont disagree but lets be honest the last two weeks he has pretty much been a one man show. he will only get better

Man it was exhausting wading through the long list of worthless replies in this thread. Collectively we need to reign in the edgy, sophmoric responses before we lose out on any intelligent sport related banter.

Lefty, can you go eff yourself? tia

man that's edgy. Care to add anything of substance to the topic?

do you?

Summary of thread:

Lefty makes a terrible first post with terrible claims.

Everyone contradicts him with sound reasoning and counter-arguments.

Lefty misuses reign/rein, then folds his arms and claims no one said anything of substance.

i'm just going to assume this thread went like this...

lefty to someone last night- "watch this. i'll get those goEMAW guys up to ten pages before the end of the day just by saying i'm not sold that sams will ever win a big12 championship while he's at kstate."

"but lefty, only two qbs at kstate have ever won a championship. they won't fall for that. chad may was drafted in the second round of the nfl and he didn't win one. michael bishop was runner up in the heisman and he didn't win one. what about josh freeman, he's an nfl starter and he didn't come close. jonathan beasley? nope.".

"well guess we'll find out. logs in. types. waits."
