loads of dumbasses in this thread.

Skylar's sister has a huge f'ing mouth and hank is back on the job.  Hank is going to sniff this one out boys.  Just read heinballz in the aurora thread though and I bet Walt's gun jams keeping everyone safe.

I think the whole Skyler smoking again thing is going to lead to Walt either intentionally or inadvertently poisoning her with ricin.

So, how many episodes until Walt learns Mike a lesson on who's in charge?

I mean, I like Mike, but it's only a matter of time...

Did Jesse really break it off with his girlfriend, I think not. Is mike siphoning off cash from the "legacy costs" to restock his grandaughters fund, I think so.

I think Mike is restocking his granddaughter's fund mainly through his own cut. Mike just doesn't at all strike me as the kind of guy who lives large.

None of these guys appear to live large.  I do think Mike's playing Walt, to some degree, though.  Doesn't respect Heizenberg enough.  In the next few episodes, I predict that Mike regrets that lack of respect.

And I kind of think Jesse's GF + Brock story line might be history.  i hope so.  she pretty much sucked and the kid was no Gary Coleman.

Regarding Brock, I think it'd be tough to throw him out. I think if anything they want the viewer to get more attached to Brock so when Jesse finds out that Walt poisoned him (and Jesse WILL find out), they want Jesse's retaliation to be able to be unlimited. Jesse has to be able to cut of Walt's dick and stick it down his throat without the viewers thinking "well that was a little extreme". Maybe they'll just bring him back for that episode, to have Jesse ask him about it something, but I doubt he's gone for good.

Brock doesn't know who poisoned him, though. Walt never would have gone to that house if Brock had any idea. I think Skyler will smoke the ricin cigarette, Jesse will realize that Walt had it all along, then Walt will kill Jesse after Jesse puts it all together. I just don't see Walt dying until the final episode, and Jesse killing Walt wouldn't allow for enough closure with Hank, the Germans, etc.

None of us really know what will happen, though. That's what makes this so much fun.

I used to do that same trick to my brother when he was 4.

Aaron Paul's acting career started similarly to RJ Mitte's.

Have you ever watched BB in real time? Each season I think it's the worst season ever. But then you go back and realize that if an episode was boring, it's because it was setting up the next episode for something amazing. I read an interview with Aaron Paul after he had filmed episode 5 and he was talking about how crazy it was, so I imagine that after we see the next part of the puzzle, we'll realize why episode 4 was so critical to it.

But I loved the Kate Chopin nod. Just perfectly done. And Hank getting the approval for head of the DEA. Going to be one hell of a showdown.

Dude, it was a terrible episode.  I don't care about the Skylar subplot, like at all.  It is completely obvious that Hank is a monster and this has the potential to destroy his family, but Skylar has not handled herself well at all.  There is just no payoff, because I don't care what happens to Skylar or Hank and for that matter I don't even care much about Walt Jr.  The show did a terrible job of integrating Walt Jr. or Skylar in to the emotional register of its fans, and now this never ending subplot the last two seasons?  Enough already.  I want to know more about the structure of the operation, I want to know more about what the Mexicans are thinking about all this (seriously nothing from them since the boss pool party massacre AND Fring goes down?), I'd much rather watch the breakup scene between Jesse and his girlfriend and their kid or them back together (nothing after Walt gives him an ultimatum LAST EPISODE?)

This show is pissing me off.

Oh good grief. Seeing Skylar be that helpless and knowing it was a very interesting subplot. Knowing you have no control and hoping for your spouse to die because that's the only good thing that can happen to you? Have you ever seen that done before? It was probably the first time that Anna Gunn has actually had to act, and she did a great job. And watching Walt react to it, seeing his eyes start to ponder it over and wondering if the old Walt, who cared about his family, who started selling meth for his family, was going to be affected by what she said was amazing. You still didn't know if this arrogance was a phase or not until that point. And now you have to wonder if Skylar is planning his death. The last tick of the watch at the end of the episode sounded more like a gun than a tick on a watch.

The only thing I didn't like about the episode was the intro. I like the point it made, that Walt has totally given up on trying to keep his money a secret, but the shots they did of the two cars in the driveway was not Breaking Bad. I didn't recognize the director's name, so I doubt he's done very many episodes if any. But going back and forth to the beat of dubstep totally made me lose focus of the point and only recognize what he was doing with the camera, which is rarely a good thing.

Edit: Just rewatched the last scene in the episode. Definitely a gun clicking.

he did "fly".

and i liked this episode, and the intro (although i agree it doesn't really fit with BB).  the scene with walt talking about the past year, with sky in the background, and the slow zoom was pretty perfect.

That whole scene was really well done. The camera leaving the table to follow Sky, the sound fading out, being engulfed in the water. The final scene where it shows the back of Skyler's head the whole time and the light used in that was great, too. Like I said, the only thing I didn't like was the intro. The rest of the directing was great.

Great pro tip here, I'm trying to remain patient through depressed passive aggressive skylar knowing it will set the stage for later drama
