So weird to have a legitimately decent freshman big. Bradford is way more athletic than they made him sound when we were recruiting him.

but the skill is where he stands out compared to recent young bigs...nice bounce-back game from d gordon too
i dont have espnu. did gordon play good D? because his shooting is a huge liability unless he is on the FT line

starters were 1-19 from 3. how in the hell do win a game like that?

I like the analysis that says that one of our RB's was #2 in the country in yards from scrimmage and two sentences later says it is very difficult to attract top RB's to Manhattan
deuce was not a top recruit.

Kashi, with all due respect, your lack of perspective, on anything really, is amazing. I love not only the fact that you've already determined that the staff can't attract anything at this point, but you're willing to completely eliminate evaluation from the equation to drive your point home. Well done kash, well done.
really? if you think KSU is going to win championships because they evaluate better than others than you are going to be disappointed for a long time. Every program has a player like deuce that far outperforms their rating. Thats not how championships are won. Bama isnt in the playoff because they evaluated better than everyone else. Deuce is really good. So are all the 4 and 5 star RBs going to the Top 10 schools. Klieman is doing OK. Its early to draw conclusions but pretty obvious he is not going to blow people away in recruiting. Looks like if its successful it will be a longer slower climb. Even our coaches call their program "a developmental program" because they concede they will not attract recruits who are ready to play before years in the strength and conditioning program. Out evaluating other schools for one player is great. But its not really a strategy to win big. Maybe if your goal is the middle of the B12. at some point you just have to attract great players that everyone wants.

if klieman can't replace those 12 who left with at least 10 better players than he isnt going to last long as a P5 coach. those guys leaving give him an opportunity to make the program better faster.

Program-wise we're trending down, and I'm not sure you can toss Deuce up to program development. I'm just saying that matters in recruiting additional talent.
deuce should be good for recruiting. No program uses a single RB any more so recruits are used to a little competition. Deuce's yards from scrimmage were #2 in america, i believe. and thats behind 5 new starters on the OL
that SHOULD BE a really good selling tool for RB recruiting. But as we know it is for some reason very difficult to attract top RBs to manhattan even for offenses that feature RBs.

I wouldn't say our RB room is crowded. We have a legit future all-conference RB and then several young guys who didn't see the field at all this year.

Who knows if Ky would come here, but I think there's plenty of room for another good RB on our roster.

Yeah, I think that too, everyone does. The point was that if Ky is going to leave Minnesota, because he isn't happy with his role, this might not be the best option if you're comparing it with the situation he's rumored to be possibly leaving.
im not that familiar with the minnesota RB room. I know their starter is a complete stud. But i dont think you could find many P5 programs with a worse RB room than KSU. Yes Deuce will be the starter but thats all we got. NOTHING after that. can anyone name another school that literally has 1 legit RB on their roster? maybe KU since pooka left. but its rare. Ky thomas probably wont be the starter anywhere in P5. given that fact, the best place to be #2 might be KSU

Agree to disagree on Knowles. Taylor is a #2, including for Kansas State. I included Moore because he's a pass catching tight end, what does it matter if he's 5 steps inside of the slot?
i think Knowles and Taylor are definitely #2s at below average B12 programs and maybe #3s. They wouldn't see the field at OU, UT, OSU.  Our WR group definitely needs upgraded with a couple slot guys who can change direction on a dime. Messingham basically has to scheme our WRs open because they are unable to lose their defenders on their own. We need some cat who can't be covered like Lockett

Our RB room is pretty crowded if Ervin comes back.
what? a crowded RB room is 4 stud RBs all with ability to play right now at a high level.
KSU has 1 RB. Thats it
KSU might have the least crowded RB room in america

Jesus Christ give it a rest. We have a freshman all american and you're bitching about that. The point, you dullard, is that he probably wouldn't want to transfer from a situation when we was behind a stud junior to one where he's behind a stud freshman.
I'm not bitching about Deuce. But having 1 good RB does not equate to having a crowded RB room. KSU literally has 1 RB they trust. Thats the opposite of a crowded RB room. Almost any credible P5 RB is capable of coming to KSU and splitting carries with our starter right away.

K-State has one running back that they trust? You breaking some news here, kashi?
i dont know what you mean? Next year they will have Deuce and a couple guys they never let see the field this year. They obviously dont like Burns or Jacardia. They like Deuce and thats it. Any credible P5 RB could come here next year and split carries with Deuce. There is literally no other RB in his way unless Ervin returns and is significantly better than all the RBs we had this year other than deuce. i haven't heard Ervin returning so i'm leaving him out for now. even then 2 RBs is not adequate for a P5 school

Look for a high profile Kansas recruit to return home after a year in the wilderness
is that Ky Thomas chatter? he was a decent recruit. is he not good enough to replace the stud Minnesota is losing at RB this year?

anything going on in recruiting since the end of the season to get excited about? this class seems okay but I could use a spark of enthusiasm going into the offseason.
a last minute 4 star?
a couple significant transfers?
the quiet is deafening
they have to be signing a lot more kids based on the number of transfers right?

every NEB loss is glorious. But losing to bottom dwellers is especially satisfying. with their recruiting being so good i still think Frost will come out of this downturn but what i thought would take 2 years may take 5

is the sophomore class a bust? man they haven't contributed much of anything this year except minutes

He was getting a ton of PT, he just never found a way to get open. His reverses for 3 yards weren’t satisfying him, after living with coach Kli in the offseason.
he played in 2 games

Urban would be great for the league

Yeah, UT with Ubran Meyer would be a godsend for sure.

Yeah, B12 would instantly be marquee again. The league absolutely needs UT and OU to be legitimate big-time powers.
OU is getting there. they are loading up with an Alabama like recruiting class this year if they get these last few 5-stars to commit as expected

there was also this little thing of Youngblood not seeing the field this year. I'm guessing whatever caused it was the major issue

What are you taking about? He played plenty other than the Texas Tech game which he was benched for because he missed the walk through.
according to kstatesports.com he played in 2 games this year with 1 rushing attempt and no receptions on the year. they played 10 games

the sophomore class appears to be a total dump

46
half the players are injured already. the 1 senior should be a mop up player on any other P5 team. No great shooters. Again
does weber actually hate good shooters? this years team sucks because he didn't recruit worth a crap the last 3 years.

OU about to put together a monster recruiting class. they are going to compete with the top 3 including Bama this year. They are expecting possibly 3-4 more 5-star commits before its over.
Insane
#1 QB
#1 WR
#1 RB
Top 10 OLs
and their defensive commits now almost match their offensive commits. Whatever Riley is saying the recruits fn love it.  He can't go to the NFL fast enough

I thought he said after the last game he'd be announcing his decision in a couple weeks.
he hasn't publicly announced yet but its been assumed by those around him that he decided to go pro a long time ago. for some reason, kids just like to keep their decisions private for as long as possible. i think he will definitely get drafted for the sacks alone. but i think the other things will keep him from going as high as he might wish. I watched him a lot this year and he seemed intent on selling out on the pass rush on virtually every play. At times he was a liability. But a NFL coach might think thats easily fixable. i think he spent this season trying to get sacks at all costs to try to enhance his NFL prospects. It worked out OK for him. I think he could have helped the team more than he did by not chasing his individual sack numbers the whole season. But i do hope he kicks ass in the NFL.

when i saw his tweet i thought of him as a regular player, was surprised to see how little be played this year. losing depth is bad tho.

I think they are in on a transfer CB from UNI that would make 4 really solid options at CB next year (EBD, Gardner, Denson, Transfer) and have two promising freshman CB’s(Jones and Daniels) behind that.  If you want to talk depth LB makes me super nervous.
having only 4 CBs that can play would be considered thin as well. they need 6 CBs who could play plus the true freshman CBs. We just are not used to having a P5 caliber depth chart. Most other programs go 3-4 deep with at least 3-star players then have the true freshmen at the bottom. Seems like we are thin at EVERY SINGLE position on the field. Seems weird we have 85 scholarship players. Seems like we have about half that on a depth chart

i heard Hubert made the decision to go pro before this season even started. He is definitely good but might be overrated by local fans. He is very consistent at disappearing for long stretches of games. and also being very undisciplined. I can see him getting drafted but not real high
