This was posted on KSO....people did the whole "is this real" thing, and seems like they think it's real. Guy goes by the poster name refuse to lose.

Earlier today I wrote Gene Taylor an email summarizing my feelings on the potential Klieman hiring. I was cordial but firm in my feelings that he is not suited for a P5 job. A key point I made was that Gene took a demotion by leaving NDSU for Iowa to improve his resume in hopes of earning a P5 job. Why shouldn’t we hold Klieman to the same standard?

I wasn’t planning on sharing the emails but I think Gene’s reply is telling and one the board should see. ADGT reply is below:

refuse to lose,

Thanks very much for reaching out and sharing your concerns. Although contrary to popular belief we have not made a decision on our next football coach but we are close. We have outstanding candidates that we interviewed and all of them are excellent coaches that will be able to lead our program to outstanding snd long term success.

Just some points on Coach Klieman and his coaching ability. He was defensive coordinator at NDSU when NDSU came into LHC LHC Bill Snyder Family Stadium in 2013 and beat s pretty good Kansas State team. In 2014 his first year as the head coach at NDSU he went in his first game of the season and beat Iowa State 37-14 and shortly after that Kansas State beat Iowa State 32-28. This year we struggled to beat South Dakota 27-24 and NDSU beat them 52-14. In 2016 NDSU went into Iowa and beat a very good Iowa team very similarly to how they beat K State in 2013. So don’t sell any candidate short in their ability to coach as if you do that then there might be a great candidate that pulls out due to not being accepted even before a potential opportunity to even be offered the position.

Again, we are close to making a final decision but have not yet.

Sincerely,

Gene Taylor
Hell yeah Gene. Mush those KSO fuckers

only a kstate Ad would be impressed by a coach who beat ksu once and isu once. i can't imagine any other school would see those 2 wins as a reason to hire a coach.
tell me he beat OU or Clemson and you'll have my ear.
we are hiring a new coach for a reason. people are unhappy with our program. so having a win against a team no one thinks is very good is not very impressive
and we all know the reason they beat us has more to do with shiity ksu recruiting than fantastic NDSU recruiting

I wouldn't be excited over Leavitt, but at least I wouldn't be terrified of the program being further destroyed.
im bored with 7-5 and 5-7 seasons
id rather be shitty for a while if it meant we could win the league every now and then
im not really interested in being mediocre
i say take some risk and aim high. if we fail, just try again
you will be just as pissed off with 6-6 as you are at 3-9
Don't presume to know how I'd feel, crap pot.

Now that's out of the way, I think there's a chance Leavitt could do decent, better than a .500 type average.
you could probably talk me into leavitt if u told me he was going to bring in one of the best recruiters of DLs in the country with him. and maybe the same with a top secondary coach/recruiter.
we need to replace Mo and Fabris with 2 of the best recruiters out there. With huge upgrades there, Leavitt might have a chance

Kansas State Football / Re: NEAL BROWN: IS HE THE ONE?!? (fingers crossed?)
« on: December 08, 2018, 09:42:05 AM »
Apparently coached at Tech along the way, I had no idea (I had to google basically everything about him, as I do every coaching candidate).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neal_Brown

I then googled "Is Neal Brown a good coach" and I found this article:

https://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2017/9/29/16382818/neal-brown-troy-football-head-coach-lsu

Coaches knew Neal Brown would be one of them soon, because none of the other Kentucky WRs would stand next to their position coach, this weird guy named Mike Leach, and keep up in conversation.

I'm still waiting to hear from j rake on the numbers, but this guy seems to have the tangible intangibles to tangle? No?
downside is his recruiting class is ranked WAY below ours and ours is one of the worst in the nation

How do I get excited about Leavitt?  I mean I’ll try but someone’s going to have to tell me he’s got Kliff Kingsbury and the next pat mahomes lined up for next year or something.
no excitement with Leavitt. No other group of fans in america would be excited with leavitt except a segment of ksu fans.

OK so why no mention of Cale Gundy or Bill Bedenbaugh from OU at all? No they haven't been head coaches but everything else about them looks really good.
awarded top assistants and top recruiters in america
years of recruiting tX
associated with recruitment of Top NFL players
Top offense in america
top OL in america
would hurt OU
might not be safe pick but interview them

Going to need a lot more foreplay to get excited about Norvell.

Yes this is the key.

I mean I literally gave zero fucks about LittreLL until the gE hype machine rolled into town. I’d still probably prefer him purely due to having stronger Texas ties, but otherwise Brown/LittreLL/Norvell are very similar prospects for KSU.

Norvell got beat by a mediocre/decent missouri team something like 65-20. Didn't UCF outscore memphis like 45-7 in the 2nd half?
just because you score a lot of points in a shitty league doesn't mean you can compete against the P5s
i don't want to be TX Tech
pass on memphis
can we just become UCF fans. they win a lot and get left out of the big time games. Thats what we all grew to love

Stan on 810 with KK

Army/Navy trivia and Roger Staubach love then coaching search...

Not worried about timeline.  This week, nect week.  Doesnt matter as decision  will impact next 10 years.  AD doing due diligence and conducting a methodical search.  He has no insider info but every confidence in AD

Candidates grade 0-100 Maybe this is a year where best candidate only grades an 87 v 97.

KK asked about Norvell.  Stan brings up Darrell Ray Dickey (played at KState, dad was HC) who was Memphis OC before going to aTm,  DRD really.likes him but that was two years ago when they last talked.

   of course he did

if it was not the year that your top couple candidates were available then we should have stayed with our current situation until the time was right to strike.
I'm on the side of you don't get rid of what you have until you already know with confidence that you have something better
i know they can't write a contract in advance but I'm sure Gene could measure the temps of these guys before the job opened up
you don't get rid of a coach rated #50 if your best alternative is a coach rated #57

Kansas State Football / best high school coach from a talent rich area?
« on: December 07, 2018, 04:14:55 PM »
i think i'd rather take a leap like Baylor did with Briles before i accept Kliemann.
make him keep some our staff to help him get going but the coach will be the pipeline to recruits.
Find our Tony Hull but better.
TX, MS, LA, STL, then hire a high school coach from wichita as assistant to help grab Wichita kids we lost to OU right now.
you could probably piece together some key recruiting pieces to add to our current staff and make it better than it is now

I REALLY hope they leaked the Kleineman rumors just to make us feel better about Leavitt.
NOBODY else wants leavitt.
Why should we want a coach nobody else wants?
That is exactly how we recruit players and we see how great that has worked out.
Leavitt is boring hire we should have kept snyder until we had a great hire in hand

We have people doing official visits here without a coach.  That means nothing

All of our scheduled visits for this weekend have been cancelled.
so they are only going to give the new coach 1 weekend to recruit before signing day, if that.
they had better get this thing done by monday at the latest.
the recruits are getting scared and others are calling
