Always play the race card when nothing else is left, bozo.  Beasley's a complete moron and embarrassment to EMAW. Give me a break plus Jacob, Rodney and Barry every time, thank you. Racists, my ass! Some of you people are lame a brain.

GTFOOH!!

I hate Robinson. He's one of those try hard guys I should respect but don't because he reminds me of that guy in high school that is just ok, but loves to draw charges, but too much and flops too often, and tries really hard at defense and stuff, but like can't shoot really, but boy does he hustle. It's not rational. But I hate him anyway.

I hate him for the very same reasons. His haircut also sucks.

He’s like a more polished Mike McGuirl. I love Mike, but that man is the definition of tryhard. I wish he wore recspecs.

I get that Mike is essentially a freshman, as far as games played, but crap he played scared today. That TCU mini run inside the under 8 timeout, with the starters out, was almost exclusively because Mike refused to do anything offensively.

Needs rec specs.

Guys, I think we are going to make the NCAA Tournament this year. Our Cats are a p flawed team, but you have to believe that this team is at least better than above average NCAA seed wise. The were basically average last season and everyone is back. This is oscar's first real crescendo at K-State and it's not bad but it isn't looking like a great one.

I think the expectations set were out of reach logistically, but we're fans and we buy in cuz that's what we do. We want to go apeshit because our team could win the conference and/ or set itself up for a deep run in March. Can we get that done this year? Maybe.

How low does the rebuilding year take us? I don't see what help we get next season makes up for what we lose. Are we starting a Woolyesque B12 winning percentage in the grill next season? Maybe.

oscar limbo.

Perhaps they can sell tons of playing time, a recent elite 8 and a car or something for some ballers. How cool would it be to get a one-and-doner again? rough ridin' Michael Beasley 2.0. Hell I'd be through the roof getting a Bill Walker.

That reminds me how incredible it is that 2010 team was a legitimate National Title contender with nary more than an NBA cup of coffee on the roster until Rodney McGruder decided to become the most physically fit basketball basketball player on the planet. Is SR The Flush Jr. better than Sophomore Angel Rodriguez? Is Claws a better draft project than Rodney? Some NBA scouts believed X could be an early entry coming into the season because of a nice run in a tournament that is a crap shoot.

College basketball is exciting.

quietly having solid games :ksu:

Was there ever any doubt?

I didn't realize they actually designed the stadium to be at Candlestick Park (very cool and windy) and when they moved to Santa Clara they just plopped the exact same design in a much warmer spot

Oh boy. Thanks for the details. I was hoping you would chime in on this one.

Being in the middle of nowhere is kinda lol

Indeed. What a garbo location. 53 minutes w/o traffic from downtown SF. Do BART trains even travel that far south?

I’m as pumped as anyone for the Klieman era, but yeah, KSU official twitter has been pretty cringy lately.

QUESTION:  If you give oscar "credit" for an elite 8 run, which included the luckiest second round draw in the history of the NCAA tournament (indisputable), then don't you have to refrain from giving him a free pass on this year do to the unluckiness of injuries?

Surely you have to refrain from giving him a free pass, right?

oscar already used up his 'free pass' in the 2014 and 2015 seasons when he recruited a bunch of losers and team cancers and had to essentially start over. which is obviously fine. it happens to almost all coaches at some point. it even happened to huggins at wvu when they missed the tourney back to back years after huggins brought in a bunch of guys he literally hated.

i don't think k-state will ever be a consistent, year after year, top-25 level program. but in every four-year period, i think it's totally reasonable to expect them to have one top-40 level team (on the bubble), one top-25 level team (ncaa tourney), a top-10 team that could make a deep tourney run (if everything goes right), and then perhaps a bit of a rebuilding year (hello, NIT). those are achievable expectations and should be the minimum standard for every big 12 team, including tcu and texas tech.

oscar hasn't really demonstrated that upside since those first three years at Illinois.

Eddie Sutton at Oklahoma State has been my standard for KSU b-ball for a long time. We’ll likely never have the run of truly powerful teams Sutton had at the beginning of his run, but even his last 9 years or so on a loop would make for a pretty satisfying fan experience.

You’re on point again Jrake

What if BV took the Temple job? That would be so sad

What if he took the Temple job, then KSU offered him like $5M/year all while buying out Klieman and current staff and paying Temple even more money?

So, the other night I went to the store for a steak and saw turkeys were ridiculously on sale and decided to buy one and smoke it.

I made a brine out of some Arthur Bryant’s rub, garlic, Worcestershire sugar and water. Mixed it in a five gallon bucket and dropped turkey in. Put it outside (protected by animals of course) later moved to my fridge.

Pic to go here (can’t figure out how to post pics on iPhone to this bbs).

After 24 hours or so I put the turkey in the sink and dried it off.

Pic

Then I rubbed veggie oil on it and put some poultry rub on the skin, not a lot.

I put it on the Traeger on Smoke setting for 3 hours this morning.

Pic — I took bird out of pan and actually smoked it on the rack the whole time.

Then I cranked the heat to 350 for 4 hours. I took a nap and ended up over sleeping about 45 so the skin got a little too crispy in some spots.

Pic

My dogs don’t care if the skin is too charred!

Pic

the breast and thighs were tender and juicy for the most part w good smoke flavor.

Pics

The drums were good too.

Pic

The wings were mostly unusable I’d advise not oversleeping and also maybe putting foil on them.

Carving was a breeze and I ended up just pulling most of it.

Pics

In the end a lot of tasty meat for basically no money!

Pic

Ate it tonight with family and sides of bbq beans, stuffing and rolls.

No pic ate evidence.

Now I get to partake in the greatest of holiday traditions — days worth of turkey sandwiches!!!

It’s Antarctica cold outside right now. So, do you guys have any special “gear” for grilling/smoking/etc this time of year?

I wore shorts, 5-yo checkered vans and a Cats hoodie. I didn’t spend much time outside.

Travelers is pretty good. Agents sent back from the future that assume the bodies/ lives of people at the moment of their “historical” deaths. I’m finishing up season 1 now and plan on seeing it through the whole three seasons.

Enjoying this one, halfway through season 3 now.

Smoking a rough ridin' turkey today, because why not? Turkeys are also way cheap right now. Pic and all that coming later. Just set the bird on the smoker.

If in Kansas, it's colder than a witch's tit flying around the north pole.  Is it going to be a problem keeping the heat at the correct temp?

It’s a Traeger. Shouldn’t be too hard.
