Needing to get rid of the sedan and going for with a little more size to comfortably fit my soon-to-be massive family.

My lasers are focused on the hyundai palisade.

Have you considered the Telluride?
They're basically the same, but in perusing around, I've found Tellurides to be a little more expensive. I think people see them as "cooler," which you pay a slight premium for.

Cooler and more “manly” imo. But you already know we have a Telluride. It’s wine color, which is dark purple with blacked out wheels and grill. Powercat “Alumni” (I think this is cheesy, but Mrs. Nicname likes (it’s “her” car tho!) tag on front and official ksu cats plate on back.

Get the same and we can be twins! Hyundai’s warranties are best in biz

Side note: I’m currently considering several options for “my” ride, which is a 2013 VW CC 6-speed manual w 216k miles and no working a/c.

Options include:

Fixing ac which is like 12-16 Hundo for a pretty old car (that I actually love driving).
Purchasing something cheap, economic and reliable … used 2008-2012 Ford Focus or something similar.
Purchasing my exact same car (VW CC 6-speed manual) with low miles. I’ve found as low as 50k.
Purchasing a new or very slightly used 2023 or newer Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV.

Prob won’t trade in the VW, would keep as a backup car.

How many open spots do we have left?

Sounds like Kaluma is leaning towards returning.

I think we are heavily pursuing Cliff from Rutgers so that would be 11.  Baba Miller would be 12.  Hopefully 13 is some under the radar mysrecruit with a high ceiling.

Really shaping up nicely

He’s still an active and quality poster on kso.
does he get in the same kind of "arguments" on kso?

No. But kso has basically banned politics in general. Don’t remember him being active on the old World Forum either.

Twitter is the worst version of everything and brings out the worst in people.

I should add that a lot more people probably could retire by 70, but want to live a more luxurious lifestyle than necessary.

And what does military intervention and whatnot have to do with it? US companies can by TVs produced thru near slave labor (we shouldn’t), and sell them to americans either way.
I’m not saying it’s right, but our standard of living (the prices we pay for things, the performance of our markets, etc.) depends upon our military power.

Also, the only reason we can spend on a deficit is because of our military might.

Anyone who wants to drastically slash our military and wall ourselves off from the world better not bitch when you cannot afford new cars and homes, and can’t retire before 70.  Again,  I’m not saying those things are required for a happy life, but I think loads of people on the left and libertarians are naive.

Most people can’t afford new cars or retire before 70 as it is my man. No one is suggesting walling the US off from the world. Buying and selling would be just fine without a massive worldwide military apparatus.

Billions, whatever. An astronomical and ridiculous number.

So what you’re telling me is we have to spend hundreds of trillions of dollars per year, many time more than anyone else spends, to galavant around the globe, putting troops and ships and whatever everywhere, meddle politically and militarily on basically every continent, to keep the cost of big screen tvs down?

Interesting.

This has been known to billiard and dart players for generations.

Also, certain message board posters.

Poker, slow pitch softball, backing babes, the list is basically endless.

Someone needs to produce and market a “slight booze buzz” pill

I’ve often wondered what would happen if we just made our own iron dome, camped our fleet around our coasts and let the world do its thing elsewhere. No one would mess with the bull/eagle or they would get the horns/talons.

Isolationism is not a good thing. We've tried it before. You do realize that the U.S. Navy facilitates international commerce around the globe, right?

Ut what do you think would happen?

Not all of us have been poopooing what’s been going on in the Middle East w regard to ww3 possibilities. Even if we are indeed moving from a unipolar world to a multipolar one, that doesn’t mean that a ww3 situation is inevitable, but maybe that’s just wishful thinking on my part.

All empires expire.

For example, I think Sweden has set a great example by partially privatizing their Social Security system.
I admit I started it, but let’s not pit this up.

I’m curious what you think about the model for youth sports as compared with our pay to play system. I think rec leagues from our youth are probably overly romanticized but covid for sure killed off MPRD sports in MHK and I think that was a loss for the community.

I also think generally that open gyms or pick up for basketball and regular pick up games for soccer and vital for the health of the sports. I think we are too far gone on baseball in the states but pick up game culture is sports culture for most of the world.

Funnily, as a small government guy, I typically find sports (especially youth, school, college) the perfect place for government intervention.

I hope we take a look at the goofy looking Indiana State center that drains 3s.

He has also been nicknamed "Cream Abdul-Jabbar", after Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (bestowed by Kentucky Wildcats talk radio host Matt Jones), "Larry Nerd", "Larry Blurred", "Steph Blurry", “Milk Chamberlain”,and "Rob Wave" by fans, teammates, and users on Twitter, due to wearing protective goggles.

I bet Kentucky gets Drew.

I agree.  I wouldn't expect Drew to flirt with an offer this much otherwise.
Unless he just hasn’t secured whatever salary bump/extension he was hoping to get from Baylor yet.

I can only imagine how great of a friend Mr. Shero was to Scott before NIL.
