Essentially Flyertalk / University bribery scandal
« on: March 13, 2019, 09:42:32 PM »
If I missed the thread about this please forgive me and merge but how amazingly layered this thing is.
1. Are there really people out there clamoring for the FBI to devote the resources they did to this? Rich people using their money to get their kids into universities is the least shocking thing ever.
2. What an amazing racket the ringleader had. Someone paid him $1.2 million dollars to give a coach a $400,000 bribe. Holy crap, this guy made the easiest money ever. It will be waiting for him after he does his 16 months in club fed.
3. Who in the world bribes someone to get their kid into Texas Tech? WTF?
4. Why didn't these people just walk into the chancellor's office and offer to build a building?
5. Lori Laughlin getting a million dollar bail for $500,000 in bribes is rough ridin' outrageous. How does that make any sense?

The Democrat Party is filled with gutless, paid for, cowards. It's amazing to me that people are using the phrase anti-Semitism to describe this.

So now you can't disagree with Israeli foreign policy without being branded as an anti-Semite? Nancy Pelosi and the rest of these democrats are no better than the Republicans they look down their noses at. They get to Washington and then their only goal is to stay in Washington, it's gross.

Other Sports (Tiger's Back) / Big 12 champion murdered
« on: September 18, 2018, 01:48:48 AM »
The 2017 Big 12 Women's Golf Champion was murdered in Ames on Monday morning, on a golf course. Her name is Celia Arozamena and she's from Spain. She completed her eligibility last year but she was finishing her degree, she was going to graduate in December. She was murdered on the 9th hole at around 10am Monday morning.

The dude that did it lived in a homeless encampment between the golf course and a multiplex theatre just east of campus.

Turner Gill also won back to back games.
Their last conference road win was October 4, 2008 at Iowa State.

Maybe the dirtiest foul you've ever seen didn't result in an ejection or benching.

The KSHSAA seems to be cool with it though

I know he isn't any good but my goodness the referees hate that dude. Both first half fouls were bad, the second one was just for boxing out, he didn't even back out just got into position. This is at least the third game I've seen this happen to him.

I'm sure some of you have some hilarious AIM stories, I don't. Please post your screen name, mine was kstatepenguin.

Kansas State Football / I want to know
« on: November 11, 2017, 07:05:36 PM »
The last time a team turned the ball over 4 times in the first half, and didn't score in the second half but still win. That seems like a virtual impossibility.

want them, reply here or PM me.

So I'm sure by now you all heard about Sumlin's wife tweeting this letter sent to his house.
Invalid Tweet ID
So instead of being ashamed and showing support for this woman, nearly everyone associated with their 24/7 site decided to take a different path.

They think either she made it up or a fan of another school other than A&M sent it to make them look bad

The first comment is hidden to members but it says

She released that knowing it reflects poorly on A&m. How does it help your husband or the team?

Thats a low blow. Lets ignore for a moment where or whom created the letter. She knows how it would look.

So please explain to me why were accepting of that going out to the world ? Thats unacceptable. So what a regent criticized your husband. Ok. So you are still being paid by the school. Its bigger than your ego. You dont throw your school under the bus like that.

A lot of people have given a lot to your hisband’s program to have success. Oh. And made you rich along the way.

And furthermore why would you give a voice to ignorance by broadcasting it? And in the process possibly hurting the reputation of the folks who have supported your husband. At least that of course would be the knee jeek reaction.

So i have a lot of questions for charlene. It seemed very accusatory, didn’t it?

Some other comments
She did it to shift the attention away from her husband who was being roasted all offseason and all week for being a shitty coach.

No matter what else happens, no matter all his abundance of failures, A&M will be the racist school that fired their "@#&$*# head coach."
That is the card they'll play.

Have you considered that someone has a plan in place to justify his failures as a coach if and when his time is gone here? You know the excuse: toxic environment. So what if such an allegation is baseless. That's how this game is played to keep careers intact. I say that only because we are living in a world now in which everyone is a victim, even if he's paid millions and millions of dollars, and people are no longer responsible for their failures. We live in a time when it's always someone else's fault. Not saying this is the case here or making any predictions. Just saying instead that I'd not be surprised if this is how things play out. The victim card is very frequently played in 2017 America.

Best case scenario, she's a spiteful woman bitter about the criticism her husband is receiving.
Worst case scenario, she herself wrote the letter.
Bad look either way. A&M will be fine after Sumlin is gone, but potential future employers will be asking him about what his wife will do to reflect poorly on their program.
Sumlin, assuming he isn't in on the joke, SHOULD be livid at her. This doesn't help him longterm.

There are lots of these and no one stepping in to be a voice of reason.

Multiple threads!

Folks there is no way a member of the HCC sent that letter.
Yes, I know this is from the DOTO (department of the obvious)
It's been sent to stir up trouble for A&M.

There's about a 5% chance that letter is real.

I'm in the group that thinks it's fake.
But if it's not fake I can't imagine an Ag doing it. The sender (person who hand delivered it) has to know that doing that can only hurt A&M especially in this social media age. The person has to know that it will blow up and he/she will be found out.
Also when the media and public find out it was one person who sent it and not an entire university, fan base, state, and region of the US they are gunna be extremely disappointed. Might even blame Trump.

Child abusing piece of crap. Did any of you watch this dudes videos when they were up? I never heard of the dickhead until last night. So this guy made "prank" videos that seem to torture one kid over and over. The wife is also a special kind of evil. These are tough to watch.

Thankfully the filth lost his kids

Look at his Twitter account, he gives no fucks about these kids

We obviously feel bad for the little boy, but that older kid is going to either end up dead or in jail, he bread a sociopath.

Essentially Flyertalk / The LA Riots, 25 years ago this week
« on: April 23, 2017, 09:23:22 PM »
Does this mean anything to any of you? It was probably the news event of my lifetime that had the greatest effect on me along with the Murrah Building bombing and the Challenger explosion.

There are several documentaries this week devoted to the subject including one on the History Channel tonight. I wonder how others experienced this. I was 16 years old in Garden City and I really had no one to share my feelings with. It was a rollercoaster of sadness and anger, even a little bit of relief as I felt like I lived a little bit through the civil disobedience.

I'll be interested to see where my emotions will go reliving this through much older eyes this week.

This attention whoring lady pissed at the TSA hits all that is wrong with shitty parenting.
1. Her son has sensory processing disorder but she's subjecting him to commercial flight?
2. She is offended by something that literally millions of people have been subjected to.
3. She is apparently concerned about her son being embarrassed but she has no problem making him a national story by posting his "horrifying" ordeal on her social media. Did that kid look horrified?

I can guarantee you that every adult that has to deal with this woman with regard to her son hates her.

Cross boarder shootings.
Why did the Obama administration protect these thugs?
The circumstances of the Texas case are similar to a 2012 shooting in Nogales, Mexico, where Jose Antonio Elena Rodriguez, 16, was shot 10 times in the back and head by Border Patrol Agent Lonnie Swartz. Swartz fired through the slats in the border fence from Nogales, Arizona. Swartz said rocks were being thrown, prompting him to fire numerous times, reload his gun and fire again.
It was a typical summer day in 2010 when Hernández died. His lawyers say he was playing with three friends in the 33 foot-wide concrete culvert separating El Paso and Ciudad Juárez, Mexico. Mesa's lawyers say he responded to a group of suspected illegal aliens throwing rocks at Border Patrol agents. Cellphone videos appeared to show that Hernández was hiding beneath a train trestle when he was shot in the head.
A 2013 investigation by the Arizona Republic found that Border Patrol agents and Customs and Border Protection officers killed at least 42 people — including at least 13 Americans — in an eight-year period. At the time, none of the agents or officers responsible were publicly known to have faced consequences.

Kansas State Basketball / The next six games will decide our fate
« on: January 07, 2017, 11:36:53 PM »
@ Tech
vs. Baylor
vs. WVU

2 home games against the top of the league, 3 conference road games against teams with a similar profile, and a non con road game that should be easy but won't be.

I think 3-3 is the goal here, at that record you're either going to have one or two great wins(potentially one being over the #1 team in the country) or three road wins against teams we need to better than. We go 2-4 I'll consider that holding serve, 4-2 and we can start talking about a top 6 tournament seed.

I thought, and I may be wrong, that Baylor did a good job of containing Sisco, it looked to me that they used their ends to keep him hemmed in, they essentially stood their ends up. It looked to me that either Dana, Del, or Dickey saw this and at halftime decided to blow them off of the ball and run right at those ends with the tailbacks. Am I wrong about this?

The New Joe Montgomery Birther Pit / Donald H. Bush
« on: November 15, 2016, 10:55:53 AM »
So less than a week into president-elect status and our guy Donald Hussein Bush has already rolled back several promises:
No deportation force
No ban on Muslims
LGBT marriage "settled law"
Not locking her up
Not repealing and replacing
Not draining the swamp

I'm sure there are others that I missed. Trump should be given credit for being smarter than everyone thought. He knew if he even reached out a little bit to the disaffected alt-right types like stunted, cat27, and fanning they would just latch on and keep holding on no matter what. That flame of hope can't be extinguished, ever.

I'm inclined to think he'll dip sometime around the state of the union.

Kansas State Basketball / What this board should really be about...

Jeff Mittie just signed three top 100 recruits. Maybe the basketball board should be subject to promotion/relegation?

It's a brand new day and it's time to prepare for a Trump administration. Here is a peek into his cabinet, its full of LOLs including Palin as the Secretary of the Interior. There is some potential good news in here for Kansas moderates though.
