I don’t think they are going to have any obstacles with money in hiring their next coach.

https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/kansas-former-lsu-coach-les-miles-finalizing-details-of-agreement-to-lead-jayhawks/

 :users:

Jesus, I would hope they'd be able to afford a coach. Last year they had $17 million in football revenue, and only spent $3 million of it on football.

If you mean the Huskers, no, they don't.

I have no idea at all why Arizona State, or Alabama-Huntsville have D1 hockey programs though.

Arizona is a nice little hockey hotbed. My yotes have done a great job of developing grassroots hockey. The best current American hockey player spent his entire life in Scottsdale and has a Mexican mom.

Currently listening to a podcast of The Dan Lebatard Show with Stugotz and they're talking about Snydes being pushed out :surprised:

Utah is closing in their south end zone and adding 5k seats.

Before & after.... and that setting

I notice that when you watch Utah games now you'll sometimes notice vehicle lights driving on the street behind that end zone.

Baylor gonna Baylor...f'ing trash.

Quote
The play on which Montgomery and Roberts were ejected came two snaps after Baylor safety Chris Miller was flagged for a late hit on Montgomery along the Iowa State sideline. Miller and Baylor cornerback Raleigh Texada knocked Montgomery over a Gatorade cart on the play.

A near fight ensued, though only a flag on Miller was assessed. Then after a 10-yard Montgomery run, he ran for one yard while Iowa State receiver Hakeem Butler pinned Baylor safety Blake Lynch to the grass during a block. That play led to a series of shoving matches, and uniformed security ran onto the field from the Iowa State sideline before Montgomery and Roberts tangled.

Officials issued a personal foul on every member of both teams, meaning that the next personal foul would lead to the ejection of any player -- involved or not in the original set of scrums. Brewer, the Baylor QB, was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct after a fourth-quarter rush that resulted in his departure from the game.

I don't know where you got that account from but it definitely undersells butler's role in what happened. He "pinned" Lynch down by standing up then putting his knee in Lynch's chest. The Baylor dude was a fool for reaching above a referee to slap Montgomery

It came from ESPN.
http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/25236642/iowa-state-david-montgomery-baylor-greg-roberts-ejected-fighting

Watch the video. Blake Lynch (Baylor) pulls Hakeem Butler (Iowa State) down with him, and then doesn't let him up. What was Butler supposed to do? (teabag would be an acceptable answer)

Baylor was playing dirty that whole game and the refs didn't shut it down soon enough. Fox has video of the late hit/unsportsmanlike conduct that lead up to the big brawl.
https://www.foxsports.com/college-football/video/1367246403915

That’s a pretty dramatic description of the late hit that led to the melee - Texada was trying to get his guy out of there. Understand the call, but it felt like more of a couldn’t stop momentum + Gatorade cooler explosion for effects. The field was crap and nobody had any footing. Clone fans I had to watch with agreed. Purdy seems to be the real deal though so I’m curious to see how they do without Montgomery for the first half in Austin.

Agree Butler is getting a pass for his role. First thing I noticed watching it Sat night. Really hope Bill has one more miracle left in him 2 weeks from now..

Also if you watch that video closely, you'll see Montgomery never lets go of Texada either, well not until he crashes into the Gatorade cart. This is just more of Iowa State doing what they do best, playing the victim.

Punches to football helmets still can hurt or at least stun if done well.

Baylor dude slapped Montgomery right in the ear hole, that doesn't tickle.

Stony Brook could be ok.  They came back to win their first game after being down 22-0.  Definitely not a good result for South Carolina but their season is hardly over.

From what I heard, Frank really thought he was getting Zion.

He would have been the only one. Everyone thought it was Clemson or Duke. That's another issue for Frank, he's been passed by Clemson. It's one thing to be the second choice in a state when the first is Kansas, it's another to be a secondary choice to Clemson basketball.

Mangino trolling kU and they're eating it up.

Maybe Seth will bring Mangino back with him...
I could get down with that. Former Cat that graduated hs with me has been beating the Mangino drum on FB. Thinks he could run the O from the booth and be a beast on the recruiting trail.
didn't Mangino suck at Iowa State? ........pretty sure he's washed...

They were crap and he was reportedly insubordinate

Colorado fired Mike McIntire :surprised:

And yes, that is their entire basketball arena under that press box. It's really small and crappy, bad for hockey too. Dugout's Terriers have a much better basketball/hockey setup

15
I'm guessing he meant that for me because I was making fun of BC for putting a bubble on Alumni Stadium.

Yes, it's exactly what happened. Ol' dude picked it up, put it in his sleeve, walked about 15 yards or so with it, dropped it, stepped on it, then kicked it. Unfortunately, it was only a 1 yard penalty, maybe that adds to the comedic value?

not positive but I think tomorrow I'll do a "gems of the game thread" thread...
This is like a Hardee's fan making fun of Carl's Jr.

LOL, okay bud. I can't wait for the collection of "Snyder was average," "we'll win the next 10 after our home run hire." Mike Lee owns Alex Barnes," and assorted ultra-hilarious stadium and facility "smack."

18
Man, I really like Boston College's stade. Like, it might be in my top 10 favorites now.

There's not a give props to other teams stadiums, so I'll put it here.

You wouldn't if you saw it in person. I'm far from the skinny benny school of symmetry but that thing is a mess. They have a dece press box and a nice facade on the south side, end zone, of the stadium. They built their equally awful basketball/hockey arena into the side of the building. It's essentially a collection of a bunch of metal bleached seating areas. To put a cheap as cherry on a cheap ass stadium sundae, they put a bubble on their actual field and use that for an indoor facility

KU wasn't gutsy or daring whatsoever. Took no chances IMO

Comedy of errors/decisions on ST - Trying 53 yd FG with kicker who doesn't have 50 yd range. Ran into Punter. Ran into Kicker on FGA.  Failed to field a short kickoff, KU recovered. Botched hold on FGA.

KSU had 0 pts in 1st half.  We have now played 8 gms vs Power-5 teams.  In 11 of those 16 halves we have scored 7 pts or less (46 pts 11 halves).  That's pathetic.

So we lost?  :bawl:

So, if UT wins out OU is out with a loss at WVU, even if WVU loses to OSU.

Gimme UT vs. WVU. I'd like to see OU vs. UT in Dallas again but that OU defense is a disaster and I think WVU gets them.

Man, ku fans love acting like Mike Lee owns Alex Barnes because of a dirty hit two years ago. Lee seemed legitimately scared of Barnes today.

When Iowa State starts crying about refs and the big 12 again, note that neither Hakeem Butler nor David Montgomery were ejected for their roles in that.

ND State is like the TTech of rolling out QB's of coaches. None of them really hit big time except for one.

What?
