For those who can't see that tweet, Missouri is allegedly going to hire Kellie Harper at some point this week. It's not being reported by anyone and only tweeted by Skim Mulky.

Somebody "steel man" this for me. At first glance, it seems a bit weird to send people in US custody to prisons in the 3rd world. What are legal experts saying is the best argument for sending people from US custody to El Salvador?

Dude said "I don't care about the judges." Also I have never seen that coon in the video before, I don't know who he is and I hope he catches full blown AIDS.

Great breakdown. Amoore's ability to get in the lane really scares me. I doubt that her and Sundell will be matched up together very much, but Amoore is in every single first round draft mock and Serena is in none of them, quite the time for her to make her mark.

Kentucky is not the 4 that I wanted to be matched up with. That arena is going to be lit and Georgia Amoore is the single best player we'll see, to that point, if we beat Fairfield, who has been tested against and beat high major teams already.

I like Mittie but the end of season problems seem to be a pattern.  Now, how much of that is related to Lee's health?  who knows.

He did a good job of adjusting the style when she was out but seems we hit a wall and didn't have an answer.
She's an all american, the leading scorer, rebounder, and shot blocker in school history, despite the injuries she's top 10 in conference history in all those stats as well. She's the all time record holder for points in a game, you know exactly what the impact of losing her is.

People are using the Baylor win last year and the TCU win this year as marks against Mittie instead of using those games to highlight his ability to put together an effective game plan if properly executed.

Maybe I'm wrong but I think they kind of clunked when they did have her healthy but that could be a misremembering on my part.

Yeah, after she came back last year we were not good, 5-5, bear in mind that Gabby Gregory was also injured then, she could barely shoot the ball. Teams just collapsed on Lee and we couldn't do anything to make them pay. Although this team has had some issues shooting the ball lately, her return, although I didn't think she looked great running in that video they released yesterday, should do wonders for spacing and getting open shots for Poindexter, Glenn, and Sides. Our two point guards should focus on other things other than shooting 3s.

This has been my favorite season of White Lotus so far

Maybe it's not a big deal with the portal these days but Mittie is losing Lee and Sundell.  If he wants out, now's the time.

We have the #6 recruiting class and a McDonald's all American being compared to Caitlin Clark. Now is absolutely the worst possible time to lose him.

If he does leave I hope that Hoyt isn't his first call, she's not even the best gettable Big 12 coach we should call. My order is
JR Payne
Lisa Fortier
Kellie Harper
Jacie Hoyt

Fortier would be great, but I assume we'd get outspent by someone (whomever that is) and/or she sees Mark Few and thinks that's a good career path.

Why would Payne bail on CU at this point? I think she's clearly better schematically than Mittie, but her entire career is Rockies and west and you'd think she'd have had other offers the last couple of years.

Harper's probably an upgrade over Mittie, but she's also been fired at two of her last three jobs (NC State & Tennessee). NC State was justified (terrible in ACC play), though Tennessee is/was probably going to be a losing proposition for whoever took the gig unless they make the final four every other year (though she didn't recruit particularly well given the resources at UT). You'd think her eye would be on the SEC job market (Arkansas, Auburn, etc.).

I'm not saying Hoyt's the best choice, but it also represents the opposite of what Mean Gene typically does (boring, safe, semi-high floor, low-ceiling). If you look back at when Mittie was hired, he was coming off four straight seasons where he missed NCAAs and his first two seasons in the Big 12 with TCU were not good (10-26 in conference). But, he made NCAAs more often than not, his wife's from Junction, etc., so there you go.

I guess I'm saying that - if true - Mean Gene pursuing Hoyt is a pleasant surprise.

Good breakdown.
We have better resources, facilities, and we damn near double then in attendance. She and Fortier are two of the gotta ask choices.

Heard there was a new season of The Righteous Gemstones out.

Terrible episode, if I didn't already love the show so much, I'd be out.

Also hockey fights are so dumb
Curious on this take?

Yeah, small one on one fights are like half the fun, especially in low league hockey.

huh, maybe the sport of hockey is the problem
I understand your position and probably agree with it but I am also sympathetic to the other side. That being said I think hockey is extremely fun to watch. Olympic hockey is probably my favorite Olympic team sport to watch.

And they don't fight in Olympic hockey.

Hockey fights are largely performative, it wouldn't have an adverse effect on the sport of it didn't happen and most guys want no part of it.

That's an insane club hockey fight, unfortunately it's probably going to lead to those teams not playing each other for a while.

What I hate now that he’s losing is his pressers. He literally says the same things every time. He doesn’t seem all that bothered by losing. The signs are there. All hat no cattle. We’ve seen this. I really don’t want him to veer into Ron prince territory.

I can really only think of one thing about Tang that reminds me of Ron Prince

I don't ascribe to 2026 being NCAA or bust, unless the season is a complete disaster or there's some pr issue.

It's going to be close, like it was last year. Ole Miss, K-State, Baylor, and Ohio State will be teams 14, 15, 16, and 17, what order, we'll see.

Do you dip them in ranch too?

We definitely will

Speed doesn't seem to have been the problem with our D-backs. Too many blown assignments, miscommunications and falling dow seems more a problem. Whenever I see posters in game threads claiming "we're so slow", I tend to dismiss it. Rightly so, it appears.
It scares me that our secondary could be that bad, while at the same time having that much speed.

They really weren't that bad though. We had a top 25 efficient defense.

we tried to iso serena on sunday but isu wasn’t having it so we ran the walker black hole and sanchez yeeting 3’s from downtown offense and surprisingly it didn’t yield positive results

neither one of them have yet to figure out why other teams leave them open

i feel like a combo of lester and taylor on the blocks should have played with rotations on the perimeter but what the eff ever

Yeah, they played Serena like we played Crooks. Poindexter was able to shoot the ball, no one else did including Sides and Glenn. Mittie absolutely lost his crap at Sanchez after she missed terrible jumpers on three straight trips in the third quarter.

I get what you're saying with trying something different with Taylor and Lester at the same time but I don't think either of them are good enough offensively to make that work and defensively it would have been a disaster as Iowa State plays a 4 out 1 in and the thought of one of them guarding the three point line, or both of them getting put in a PNR is frightening.

I feel like a schmuck for buying semifinal and final tickets already. We'll get past BYU/UCF easily. West Virginia is obviously going to be a challenge but we can beat them, especially when they're away from Morgantown.

Without Ayoka there to get easy baskets when we need them, this team exclusively relies on an ability to hit the three point shot. We have to get better at getting to the rim when it isn't a live ball turnover.
So, we are not going to have Lee back at any time?  If so we are not going to do much in the post season, again.
She'll be back for the NCAA tournament.
