Someone else on this board with Showtime! :surprise:

The Comey Rule was very good, the makeup person should win an emmy, the likenesses were uncanny. I thought it was going to be overhyped, but it delivered.

Brock, are you going to watch The Good Lord Bird?

the people on KSO are such assholes.

It's rough ridin' ridiculous. The amount of people on that board who are only happy when others are in misery seems way out of wack with the rest of civilization. I mean when ol boy tossing sandwiches, there were a ton of jokes here, and that was all fair. However, the amount of celebrating over that man losing his job, because they don't like his writing style, is sick.

i think it will be a function of how many lolwut wins happen this year. i mean last saturday was cats/ou and msst/lsu. If it we get a couple of those every weekend then its just gunna be like yeah this season was looney tunes what can ya do?

Mississippi State LSU was not an upset. LSUs preseason ranking was an absolute joke. They lost ever-y-body from their two deep from last season, and their defensive coordinator. They returned a miniscule amount of starts, like the smallest amount in the nation. It's a testament to how ridiculously biased college football media and rankings are. Teams like K-State can be light on one unit and the media will act like that will make a 6 game difference, but teams like LSU can literally lose their entire team and no one blinks.

I think she might do well as an incumbent. Agree that she would probably lose as the candidate this year.

I would agree on both of those.

If, obv if, Biden wins, I fully expect it to be a single term presidency and then hand it over to her. I think she does pretty well in that one, assuming that is what happens.

She's not going to sway how the general populace feel about black women, just like Hillary didn't. People aren't going to stop hating women just because Joe Biden either gets sick or dies in office.

For the most part yes, but it's easier to defend when you're already there, than try and reach where you haven't been IMO. I guess what I mean to say, she'll do better in the hypothetical 2024 race being VP than she would just trying to do it w/o any of that legitimacy. She'll get plenty of vitriol, I don't doubt it, but people will also get much more comfortable with the idea of it if she's basically an heir apparent. Obviously president is the ultimate glass ceiling, but the penultimate one hasn't been broken yet being VP.

I also think Hillary being a woman wasn't as big of reason as to why she lost but that's more my opinion.

Hillary and Biden are politically nearly identical. Do you think Hillary would beat trump today? I'm saying this as someone who didn't even vote for her.

People who generally hate Liz and Hilldawg love Tulsi.

People loved Liz until she became a serious threat to win the nomination.

Quote
Mazzetta says he took out his own gun and fired because he feared the other man, was going to shoot him.

Mazzetta did not want to do an interview but told WESH 2’s Bob Hazen through text, “I’m not a fan of guns; I’m a fan of not getting shot.

I know this video doesn’t capture my smartest moments but I hope any idiot criminal with a gun watching thinks twice before loading, brandishing & aiming their firearm at someone over a traffic infraction.”

This is wilder than the video. This guy is bat crap crazy, he's actually lecturing other people on responsible gun usage, lol.

the full vid's still pretty wild!

Waymin, does this dude know he just posted evidence of his guilt not actual self defense like he labeled the video? Look at the time stamp at the bottom. The video does show that the sports car is driving very aggressively approaching and leaving that toll booth. It also shows that our shooter went from 70 mph to 84 mph to catch up after the sports car passed him, then he sped up to 100 mph to pull even with the sports car. The video also shows the crossfit hero pull his gun out of his waistband while he is even with the sports car, the video shows the sports car guy showing his gun as he drives off, leading me to think it was a response. The shooting occurs at 3:47:44 PM on both videos, there is no audio or visual indication that sports car dude ever shot.

This dude should be in jail. The fact that he doesn't realize how reckless his actions are make him a very real danger to the public. I'm sure nothing will happen because, Florida.

Sorry if already posted but it seems to goes along with this thread and I thought some people might enjoy it as much as I did:

This show was very disappointing, I had hope it would be good but it was cringe. This was the best clip of the season.

What do you have an issue with, or are you just trolling again?

This pharma thread is sad, we are dragging big pharma all over the board, but the master thread is hurting. Let's see if Katie Porter can give us some life.

I dunno about you guys but I found that upset fun as eff. We overcame nearly insurmountable odds and had an insane 4th quarter comeback at their place! It was awesome!

Was it maybe less exciting to you because there weren’t many fans there? That part I understand.

It wasn't as fun because it's a fake season and I think OU is done losing. The '12 and '14 games seemed bigger.

:emawkid:

michigancat, that's the stupidest thing any senator has ever tweeted.

Is it only stupid because we can't afford it and Markey knows it?

Beating OU wasn't as fun this year. Though, that could just be because this isn't a real season.

It wasn't as fun for me either. The wedding DJamer calling it the biggest win in program history legitimately might be the dumbest thing I've heard in recent memory.

Sidenote, I can't stand those banner society dudes, their podcast is so dull. Those two dudes are who trim should make threads about when it comes to self-important media smelling their own farts.

1. I'm certain this is an example of not getting the thread.
2. I love this and I'm stealing it, and might even be compelled to actually go on my abandoned facebook page just to post this.

this is true.  his vibe is pure shitweasel and he's a sycophant's sycophant, but he's been instrumental in passing key legislation and more generally in running a competent, run of the mill treasury.  and unlike every other competent to semi-competent member of trump's initial cabinet, he actually lasted the entire term.

as a slightly related observation, i'm absolutely astounded that 1) trump's admin hasn't been pushing as hard as it can push to extend and expand the relief measures, and 2) that the expiration of the measures passed in the spring and failure to pass anything additional hasn't been a bigger story.

there's a reasonable argument to be made both that the cares act was the single most effective u.s. govt economic intervention in my lifetime and that the failure to extend and expand that effort is the most foolish and reckless u.s. govt response to an economic crisis in my lifetime.  and it's not even on like the top 5 in news coverage.

I agree with all of this. Not sure I've said that about a sys post since about 2011 in the basketball board.

There should be a poll question: Are you voting for Biden/Harris, for Trump, against Biden/Harris, against Trump?

I think that the polls would indicate quite a few people voting against trump, but I think Harris would actually poll with a lower favorability rating than Clinton did.

any reason to be worried about the last two transfers?

I honestly don't even remember who was before Triplette, but we've played damn near everyone not COVID'd and he hasn't played a lick. We're going to have to lose some players to make up for no one losing eligibility. It's undetermined if the NCAA will relax the scholarship limits for a couple of years, but even if they did, we can't afford to have 110 guys on scholarship. The recruits we are bringing in and have targeted at his position have higher ratings and better offers.

It's the most confounding streak in sports, there's literally no explanation. I've been to a few games at Target Field, they were from the absolute best home field advantage, to as sterile as a baseball environment that I've ever seen, nice stadium though. Anyway, you'd think they would have managed a 2-0 shut out at some point.

They have a few part timers. Not sure of Zac Carlson's status or not but if he's part time, fitz is the only full timer and remember he is home bound for the most part because of his cancer.

mrs. dave and I are dropping off our mail in votes today

You and nate need to stop trying to make fetch happen

That's a lot of polls to say otherwise

https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2020-election-forecast/nebraska-2/

Pretty sure it's basically impossible both for NE-02 to be a close race and also have a close electoral count. The district too far left relative to other states for that to happen.

The mic thing will make no difference. You think not having a hot mic will stop trump from interrupting Biden? Besides you'll be able to hear him on the 10 other mics in the room they will be debating in.

The few people I talk politics with are voting Trump because they are worried about their guns being taken away.  Maybe a right court will help alleviate that so that a lot of center-right midwesterners can stop voting every single office based that wedge issue.  I mean, if this is a possibility, whatevs, lets try a right court for a while.
