Kansas State Football / Re: Scribe's WVU Review
« on: October 03, 2016, 09:25:49 PM »
Warmack clearly needs to be our #1 running back after this last game.  I've been on the Silmon train for sometime but Warmack really impressed me with the way he hit the holes.

Our defense is legit. Only worrisome trend I see is that teams continue to go deep against DJamer Reed and he has been beat multiple times now.

No need to really comment on how terrible settling for field goals were. WVU went for it on fourth how many times ?

Pringle is a solid WR, but I think this is going to be a transition year for him.

Wasting timeouts, terrible clock management, kickoffs out of bounds is becoming a trademark of Kstate for the past few years. It's time someone should be fired.

I'm not sure how you can be a Kstate coach and live with yourself after that loss. No way we should have ever lost that game even with subpar QB play. Ertz is terribly inconsistent but I'm not sure we have anyone any better.

You just now realized that Warmack is our best RB and Silmon sucks?  Silmon has and will continue to be our worst RB.  Every carry we give to him should be given to Alex Barnes.  Barnes is faster, bigger, stronger and 10x the player Silmon will ever be.

Did you have our assistant coaches ranked backwards as well?  Let me guess, Sean, Dana, Del, and Dickey on top with Coleman and Seiler on bottom?  Yeah, you're obviously doing a great job with your reviews.

You have eight posts and half of them are completely freaking out on Silmon. Its obvious the coaches view him as the third of fourth choice at RB. I gotta ask, what's the beef with this dude who barely plays?

I would hope he would think he's the best quarterback, what a complete waste of time if he didn't.

I actually really liked running the slant there. Heath was wide open. We should have been running that on every first down until they stopped blitzing up the middle, too. Nothing is easy on the ground when the defense stacks the box and run blitzes. Instead we kept checking into 20 yard bombs down the sideline that Ertz had to chuck up off of his back foot.

Without context the slant there was fine. It was an odd time to call it given we were running the ball with pretty good success it was also bad because they didn't plan on going for it if the play failed. We did that on a running down but on passing downs when they were blitzing we were running these deep routes, it was stupid. Not only do the coaches not trust Ertz, they must not think our receivers are good enough route runners to get open on a three step drop.

My frustration with Dimel has mainly come the last two seasons. His offenses have been fine for the most part during Snyder 2 when you look at the efficiency numbers. Its just strange that we finally build a good defense (credit to Hayes, who most wanted fired the last couple of years) and now our offense is terrible.

Also, this is a prime example of when Snyder's "we don't allow the coaches to talk" policy is really messed up. We send the junior in college who is our kicker out to the media, but not the OC(s) whose offense stunk up the 2nd half. That isn't right.

This is all good stuff but our offense was just as terrible in the first half, as far as game plan goes, as it was in the second. We were lucky the players executed more plays in the first half despite a lackluster, disjointed, no recognizable identity plan.

Amanda Knox doc on netflix, I enjoyed it a lot. I didn't follow that whole thing at all, so I went into it knowing basically nothing. Love how butthurt the Italians are

There seems to be a decent amount of blowback on twitter about some journalist involved with this.

BCS starts unbelievably slow but gets really good
In season 2? Because woof, season 1was a slow steamy pile of crap.

Maybe my opinion is influenced by the fact that  the next thing I started watching was Stranger Things, which is just incredible compared to BCS.

I watched the first two seasons as an outsider, still have never seen an episode of BB, and season two is definitely much better.

That was the perfectly shitty end to a very shitty sports weekend

I've been on the fence about Ertz since the beginning, but from my view the guy is just a bundle of nerves. It's pretty obvious he gets rattled on the road against teams with a pulse which contributes to the overthrows and procedural penalties. Of course our coaching staff doesn't help because it seems like they call the game without any regard to what is actually happening.

If I'm right, the good news is Ertz can eventually settle in and start playing on the level of Waters or Klein (minus the durability). He also may never settle down, in which case it will basically be 2015 all over again. In either case, I don't see him ever getting benched for Delton because I'm sure he'll always perform better in practice.

This is incredibly fair, or we can just continue to make sweeping and final judgments about the dudes career 6 halves in.

I like how everyone forgets that Del huge racist Miller is the co offensive coordinator and the qb coach.  But by all means continue.

Del has a large share of blame for his crap QB recruiting and development.

And, yes, I tend to skew towards believing he's a little racist based on how he's handled every black QB not named Ell Roberson.

He benched Ell, its just that Marc Dunn was real bad so he had no choice but to play Ell.

Seeing that POS baby Briles on BU's sideline still infuriates me.

He has to be the one that tried to argue with Brenda Tracy, right?
Highly likely.

Bennett was my first guess
Jfc just caught up on this..... :sdeek:

That university NEEDS an entire AD death penalty.

Tennessee is worse

Whats your analysis behind that?  I know Tenn has done some shady stuff, but I didn't think they had approached anything close to the top to bottom issues Baylor is having (and denying).

The police department was reporting to the coach and the coach called one of his players a traitor for helping a rape victim and the reportedly watched the same player get jumped by some other members of the football team.

This stuff has all been reported, anytime ESPN wants to do an Outside The Lines the story is just sitting there getting grosser with each Burch Jones win. I can't for the life of me figure out why they won't investigate though.

Is BV a choice for LSU?  After Texas takes Houston's coach where will they look?  Jimbo Fisher is mentioned, but would they even consider BV?

LSU thinks they deserve a $5 million a year guy.

I think you'd see Briles there before Venables.

Venables has said he doesn't want a G5 job. I mean, he could do Houston, but I don't think he'd be that interested. That job would be great for a guy like Fleck if he wants to skip the low-to-mid P5 gig.

I wouldn't dismiss Venables or someone like him. Remember the money issues that the Louisiana universities are having.

Take Muppet looking ass Leavitt out of here and I'm with you. Currie would hire me as a had coach before he hires Coach O.

Orgeron sucked crap at Ole Miss

Do you know how bad Ole Miss was when he took over there?

I could 100% see Gundy leaving to go to LSU

You could see it because you're a moron. LOL at LSU hiring a dude who lost a home game to Central Michigan.

i too am searching for a good stream. something of the non-super shady low quality streaming sites.

You blew it, man.  KATPAK'rs are skipping BWW today to go watch somewhere on Alki.

Text me if nothing develops and you could use my cable login to watch on espn3.  But it's usually further behind than what jmarks delivers.

blown indeed. alki would be swoot as hell. pm me the login info?

crap, I never looked back on here after I left.  It was cool.  BWW is out of the mix unless it's a 9am game and we're not good enough buds with the bar staff by then to get them to open up early.

I'll PM you the login for future use.

Why rough ridin' bother

Someone did on the call in show and Chili dog put it all on Ertz. I was :sdeek: because it sounded like #1 right out of the #Brucexcuses playbook.

eff him and the rest of our no account, scared ass media contingency. I have no idea why they are all scared and protect this staff, it isn't like they're getting any access they need to safeguard or anything.
