The thinking is that a pick and pop three by Dean is higher percentage that drive and get fouled.

It may be, but two chances is better than one and a quick drive when the opposing team is playing soft so they don’t foul has proven a very good late game play.

That shot by Dean could still be taken with 8-10 seconds left if we end up down 3.

This discussion has missed the point. Why were we hoping for a last second shot. The smart decision here was to get ourselves two chances at this. oscar should have told Barry to sprint down the court and drive as quickly as possible. Either get a bucket or get fouled. They’re not going to defend it hard because they don’t want to foul. WORST case scenario, we miss and don’t get fouled, and KU makes two free throws and are up 3.

Going for a last second prayer of a three is way dumber than attacking the basket.

I want us to be better, projecting towards even better the year after. He got his 10 new players, it has to be that way or he's gone. He already got one do over.

I won't reduce the season to one tourney game, but we better damn well be in the tourney.

I was originally ok with just getting in the tourney, but I think the idea is that we should be good enough next year to be a 6 seed or higher, after which we would be expected to win.

So does the band take up 450 seats? Or are there 450 band members? Because if that's only band members, I would bet they take up closer to 750-1000 seats. It takes a lot of space to play an instrument.

I used to think the problem was oscar. Today I thought the problem was oscar. Then I watched our guys execute tonight. oscar has clearly taught them how to play basketball, nights like tonight don't just happen.

Saw some students doing the arm thing from angels in the outfield at the game for angels last free throws. I think this is awesome. Hopefully not luked, don't really care though.

i think it sucks we don't play nebraska anymore and i miss them. 

 

Yeah, that's you and the rest of us aren't dumbasses for not feeling like you.  I was on the field after those games in 98 and 2000 and I want to win on Saturday just as much as I did then.

my point is is that it's a huge exaggeration to say that fans "don't care" when their rival leaves the conference.  we do care, to some degree, right?  why wouldn't we care?  k-state will go on, of course, but if k-state loses KU, i think k-state loses part of our identity, and vice versa.  when would tons of k-state freshman travel to lawrence and jaw at their high school buddies who decided to go to ku?  what coworkers would we razz around the watercooler on monday?  what billboards would we paint? 

k-state would go on, of course, but if ku left, it would suck for both fanbases.  obviously new rivalries would form, but man, i have never met a single Florida State.

I sure as hell care

Guys, I got a new elite KSU jacket and have worn it and the same outfit for every game since the Oklahoma game. I showered and put on the outfit during the 4th quarter of the Alabama game. I put the jacket on the play before the pick in the end zone. I was all 

Since the OU game? GTFOOMF with that. That's only 7 weeks. We've been winning for 10.

Klein throws way more accurate balls, Sams throws prettier looking ones, but that fade was thrown about 3 yards short. He's very promising but he needs to be more accurate.

too late.  everyone's already saying this team is better than '98.  go back and look at the starting D from '98 and see how many of them played in the nfl.  it's just stupid.

No they aren't better. More diciplined maybe?

I dunno.  the offense is definitely more disciplined.  ricky williams was averaging like over 200 yards/game when they came to mhk and we held him to 58.  they were stupid good.  like all-time good.

I love the crap out of this D and this whole team but they're not '98.

Yeah, and Geno Smith came in gaining at LEAST 275 in a bad game and we held him to something like 170?
