Title: Bachelor Parties
Post by: JohnCurrie is Weird/Gross on February 21, 2013, 09:26:04 AM
My best friend is getting married and I am in charge of the bachelor party. I have been to many and most of them sucked. My aim is to plan and execute one that doesn't suck. All attendees are located in KC and can travel if given enough notice. I would very much appreciate the advice of all you wise and  :gocho: gE'ers.

Whatever you do, make sure to keep it completely separate from the bachelorette party. I've been to a couple of "combo" parties and all I can say is   :flush:

Ages are 24-30. I'm going to pay for as much as I can. Nothing too crazy but money shouldn't be much of a limiting factor. Aiming for late summer/early fall. Was looking into maybe chartering a plane to Vegas. It really isn't too bad of a deal if you get enough people. Has anyone done this?

2.  St. Martin.  Bro with a nice big house there.  Everything Nassau has but better, hard for squawk fans to get to
3.  New Orleans.  great food.  easy to get to.  rooms are always available.  turns into a real crap show sometimes
4.  Montreal.  I only list this behind the others because I really enjoy beaches but it is an elite bachelor party location.  Eat at the Globe, tell them LSOC sent you
5.  Vegas.  Very meh but if you enjoy being one of 1,487 bachelor parties it can be fun.  Tons of stuff to do, food is good, easy to get to  etc.
6.  Atlantic City.  Meh
7.  NYC.  If you are rich as crap, it can actually be as good as any place.  Spending a crap ton of money in Manhattan can be a real blast.
8.  Bunch of other random places including Lake of Ozarks, STL ,etc.  If you are a poor, do what you have to do but get out of town.

My favorite bachelor party I went on we rented an RV and drove from KC to the Kentucky Derby. Probably best for roughly college age guys. Need one driver who is content with adderall and weed instead of drinking. I've never spent 4 days more drunk than that.  Bubbles4ksu almost renounced binging after this trip.

going to vegas for two nights is a great trip. don't plan anything that big if you don't want to spend tons of money. just do some gambling, get drunk, swim during the day, walk around the strip, get more drunk, you can't really go wrong. we also played golf in vegas, was a great time.

but the best budget bachelor parties involve hiring strippers to come to a private residence in the late afternoon before their regular stripper gigs. The formula I have seen several times is two girls and one big dude with a trash bag for collecting dollar bills. Much more fun/less depressing/cheaper than a "strip club". But I mean if you're going to charter a flight to Vegas I'm not going to stand in your way.

Stayed a weekend in Cancun for a friend who didn't gamble. It was surprisingly cheap and real fun.

If all you consume in 4 days is hot dogs, breakfast burritos, adderall, xanex and alcohol, you might have a slight hangover. Other than that it is great!

Why is new orleans even in the same sentence as Vegas?

I cant think of one positive quality in  N.O. The town absolutely smells, theres trash everywhere. Your chances of getting raped and murdered in the same night are significantly higher than Vegas. I know Vegas has its questionable areas but holy...

a bunch of the same people used to get together and do the 4th together. it got to a point where people were lighting off fireworks in bars, shooting them at cars, and generally on the verge of getting arrested. nobody wanted to host those get togethers after that. combining the 4th with a bachelor party will only take it up a notch. definitely scared for my life.

Alright, guys, I've got some good news: no arrests! Several people fell in love with a stripper, though. Flew into Seattle on the 3rd, was greeted by about 8 people. Drinking. The 4th, got on a bus and went to Portland (built in nap time), go to Deschutes Brewery, am surprised by 7 other people who came into Portland. Drank a beer that used mussel brine in the brewing process and several others.

Was told that I would have to wear this for the rest of the weekend...

Then unspeakable things.

The next day, a pedal tour of several draft houses around the town, on this...

(https://goemaw.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fs3-media4.ak.yelpcdn.com%2Fbphoto%2FKAAX7Ovvu7IBVI3omfVU7g%2Fl.jpg&hash=c22489d715711bb3a2dccb8da61837c8229717c5)

The entire time we played the soundtrack to Space Jam. Also we bought a keg at rogue while on the bike...

(pedal lounge tour guide, no need for pak head)

Then USMNT team game with American Outlaws of Portland, followed by more unspeakable things that I don't really remember anyway.

Also forgot to mention that we had rented two tandem bicycles and were riding these around like it was our job much of the weekend. Did some tourist stuff like this...

Then on Saturday we decided we should probably drink that keg, so we did this...

Some other highlights...

Random guy hitting on my friend: "Boy you look tough. You look like a guy who would punch me in the face after I sucked your dick."

Friend: "You are creepy, and I don't want to know you."

*guy walks off.

Also ate a ton of good food including Pok Pok, Tasty 'n' Sons, Ecola Seafoods Restaurant & Market, and Taco Bell. One of the best trips I've ever been on. Would recommend.

Find a good spot downtown, I'd suggest staying at the Warwick.

(https://goemaw.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fmedia-cdn.tripadvisor.com%2Fmedia%2Fphoto-s%2F01%2F7c%2F8c%2F50%2Frooftop-pool-offers-amazing.jpg&hash=61bdbc5f43288b92cc3681be87901c36548d7a43)

Depending on how you want to approach it, nothing but bros partying, touresty, baseball game, etc. Everything will be within walking distance/short cab ride, including all of the best bars/clubs/strip clubs.

You could even copy asava's crew one day and do this downtown.
(https://goemaw.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fs3-media4.ak.yelpcdn.com%2Fbphoto%2FKAAX7Ovvu7IBVI3omfVU7g%2Fl.jpg&hash=c22489d715711bb3a2dccb8da61837c8229717c5)

A Saturday morning/afternoon trip over to Breck wouldn't be bad if you're into that crap. Or you could stay downtown and rage the whole weekend. Good Brunch/bottomless mimosa's all over downtown/the Highlands as well.

18 is a great number and will allow you to dominate any bar/situation you walk into. Remember, this party is about the bachelor and his buddies having one last great time together so its important to be the center of attention everywhere you go.

Did you just get to a bar and feel like letting everyone know where you are from? Bust out your tomahawk chop and do the arrowhead chant(OOOOOOOoooooooOOOOOOOOOoooooooooOOOOOO).

Want to get the whole bar involved? Try a "U-S-A" "U-S-A" Chant!

Did the band finally play the song you requested(wagon wheel) 30 minutes ago? A "YOUR THE BEST, YOUR THE BEST" chant will let him know you appreciated.

**Last week in Vegas we started the tomahawk chant at a blackjack table a couple times, next day at the pool a group of girls came up and asked if we were the same group, then they partied with us all afternoon***

Another killer move is to form a circle and take turns dancing. But what if its like 8pm and not dancing time yet?

Well you can still form a circle and be the center of attention. Maybe stage a fake wrestling match in the circle?

A fake weightlifting competition also works great. Remember to fail a couple times to build up the suspense.

That's pretty accurate. Its looking like only about 17 or 18 are going to make it. I'm one of those 17 or 18 tho!

:excited:

Remember to fail a couple times to build up the suspense.

all you frat guys look the same.

depends on the type of party

um, bachelor party.

Trying to help a bro plan one for probably the 17th of May weekend. Everyone has been pretty slow on committing to anything or even getting an email out. Not my place to take charge. Gut feeling is we won't be flying anywhere. Ideas for this time of year other than Kentucky Derby?

Pretty much everyone is in KC. I would agree on date should be first but these guys might not pick that till they get the idea. Procrastination like this makes me anxious. Especially when it could affect how sweet the trip is.

Not sure what your group of friends likes to do, but we're doing a Blvd tour (:Yuck:.... Jk, love that place :D), party bus to the Royals game and then sitting in the Pepsi Porch seats in the outfield (tune in on May 17  :royals:), and then taking the party bus back to one of KC's many fine bar districts.

Went to buddy's bachelor party, and our group made a swing by the local strip club.  Being married, I wasn't into the dancers, giving tips, etc., especially since my wife is 5x hotter than any of the women in the club.  So, went back to play pool, and kept getting challenged by the strippers who weren't having to work the floor or stage at the moment.  It was fun but bizarre to play women in bras/g-strings, or whatever skimpy stuff they were wearing, but I kept winning so moved on to playing the next stripper in skimpy underwear-type stuff.

This is none other than the Hozarks, correct?

Had a great little bachelor party there this weekend. Got weird at Shady Gators on Friday night with a bachelorette party followed by an even weirder Saturday at Lazy Gators. Got an HJ in the pool from a different girl that was in the previous nights bachelorette party.

Saturday night we had strippers over for the bach, a buddy of mine snapped a few pics, on the third one he let the flash go off (amateur)... One stripper flipped and tried to quit. She attempted to justify this move by saying, 'I have 2 kids at home who absolutely can NEVER find out I'm a stripper'. All the while ignoring her full size cross-tat on her calf and crushing a pack of cigs outside. #rolemodel

cancun of the midwest this weekend :surprised:

All the while ignoring her full size cross-tat on her calf and crushing a pack of cigs outside  pulled the car around for her colleague. #rolemodel

Cleaned up.

My goal for my bp is to hit every strip within 50 miles of where we go. Give less than Chen and Yordano for a dance. Let them get half a song in and not finish and let them know they are trash, and feel good about myself.

Also get blue balls at each club, just to teach them to do better next time I'm back.

Great question.  I have absolutely no idea.  I had to leave after an hour and a half because they were going to watch "Predator" on blu-ray.  I couldn't handle the "the resolution sucks on blu-ray because it was made in the 80s and the transfer is weak as a result" debate.  Went fishing instead.

You are correct.  There were also several dudes that had facial hair going into their lips in such a manner that eerily resembled a vagina.  Their facial hair was pubes then lips.  It was so disgusting it was beautiful.  I thought about hiring a stripper or something, but I was worried for the pillows in the house.  No one ever thinks of the pillows, you know?

I was his supervisor for his clinical hours while he was getting his Master's degree.  I helped him for 3 years and was invited.  He didn't have too many friends so I figured I would show up for a bit.  Nice guy, really good with kids going through the DHS system, but totally nerdy beyond all recognition.

no pool handys but pretty good bachelor party last night

it was a 2-dayer but I could only make it for last night. it was casino night and I got up big on the blackjack table, and you guys know what I did instead of walking away?  I kept riding that heater until I was down to my last rough ridin' chips. won that hand and proceeded to get on another heater, managed to get back to even, which was a monster stack to begin with of course. then guess what I did?  I cashed in those chips and played a $15 slot just for shits and giggles :Keke:

Bachelor party fail. That's just really unfortunate.

If you break even at the tables, and you've managed to spend a good amount of your night there... you're a winner in my book. Essentially played all night for free. Well done.

Have another bachelor party in Vegas over Labor Day weekend and I'm really hoping I can improve my performance.

Last bachelor party in Vegas was in back in march of 2014 and I thought I was still 21. Got in thursday night and went on a 36 hour bender that involved 6 hrs of sleep, 1 meal and enough alcohol to kill Aldon Smith.

I was on the PUP list by Saturday afternoon.

I have never been to a bachelor party so I can't compare. One time I was in Vegas for a wedding and they had bachelor and bachelorette parties there a day before the wedding....and they both ended up at the same place - it is a strip club with girls dancing on the first floor and guys dancing on the second floor.

1. If you visit a gentlemans club never give them access to your CC.

2. Cabana at a pool/pool party >>>>>>> Table at a club.

3. Plan 1 event a day (Pool/Dinner/Etc) where everyone attends. Its hard to keep a group of more than 4-5 people together for extended times in Vegas.

4. Stay in the middle of the strip and don't get super expensive suites, just get a couple of rooms on the same floor.

5. Some of my best BP times in vegas are just walking down the strip with everyone pounding beers, the lights, the freedom, the people watching. Its amazing.

All my groomsman are spread across the country and trying to put this thing together in Vegas, pretty much by myself, wasn't much fun. We're cancelling Vegas for march madness (way too expensive, flights are like $700 round trip) and we're doing a staycation and staying at Harrah's here in KC. I figure we can do a blvd tour, rooms will be free through trade, maybe go to weston for a day, etc. Any other thoughts of what to do? Obviously watch basketball and drinking will be a big part of it.

i'd suggest just going to kcfdcat's brewery instead of the super lame-o blvd tour.  maybe kcfdcat will set up a private tour for you for a nominal fee.

WC go to Ale House. They have a $5 cover for you to go in and watch TV and buy bud lights and burgers on the inside but its totally worth it

i did this about 6 years ago, from what i remember it was enjoyable, you'll learn some cool things. might be more interesting for the people that actually live in kansas city. and i wouldn't like, be wasted when you go.

He lives in LA. I feel bad having my groomsman having to fly to Colorado and then potentially Vegas too. Some can swing it, some can't. He looked up a bunch of stuff for Vegas, but it was going to be really expensive, since it was the tourney week. We're talking like $750 round trip for just the flight alone. One lives in Dallas, Salina, and the other one is in KC, but he travels all the time for McCormick.

one of the nights you need to get one of those party buses. honest to god it does not get much more fun than all your friends bingeing hard to whatever music you want, driving around wherever tf you want to go. it's more fun than bars

these guys will take care of you.

http://www.kclimo.com (http://www.kclimo.com)

it ends up being like $20 per dude and you just bringe coolers of your own booze and tell the bus driver to just drive around, and then occasionally let everybody out for about 20 minutes:
get off the bus / chief a heater / pee in a bar bathroom / order a drink (if you're an idiot) / talk to a filly / pee one more time / chief one more heater / back on the bus

you should get a giant suite at the westin that holds all the dudes, and then one night you can take the streetcar to pnl for the tourney

Great work in here, mocat! I sent that on to my best man. We'll stay in a hotel downtown. Thursday will be st pattys, so bars and NCAA bball tournament. Friday, we'll do a tour of blvd and then hit the casino. Saturday would be a good night for that limo and i'm not much of a strip club kind of guy, but I guess it's kind of a thing you have to do.

That sounds terrible.

One requirement is getting everyone out of control drunk. This usually requires beers followed by redbull and liquor. Drink with reckless abandonment, it's shameless at a bachelor party.

i have loved every party bus experience i've ever had.

one was a bunch of people i didn't know but they blared 80's metal (like iron maiden type stuff) all night and it was as great as it sounds.

Our party trolley was out of beer one time. Good ole dobber jumped off the trolley and ran as fast as his drunk ass could down the street to a gas station and ran in and grabbed a case and threw some money on the counter on his way out just in time to jump back on the party trolley. The girls were very impressed.

You should go to St. Louis or Chicago at least.  Having your Bach party at same bars you go to all year is reserved for KU grads

have fun Wakster! I had mine in KC and it was a blast, sounds similar to yours, beer tours, dinner, casino for awhile, then P&L.

we did not go to a strip club, and I have yet to go to a bachelor party that did. we had a blast on all of them, no one cared about the lack of paying for 1/2 naked ladies.
