A four point diff is equivalent to two stars?  Seems ridic.

Something's weird.  Probably will be sorted out by tomorrow.

he's a 4 star when i just looked.

So James Franklin is helping coach Cauley's HS team, right?

Heard he has a real problem with one of the coaches still and isn't helping us at all w/ Cauley.

a good state of the 2012 class post by uw.  i want it here as a reference.

Quote
below is a list of '12 prospects the KSU staff has been in contact with. Interest in certain prospects is obviously greater than others, and it's safe to say that I missed a few targets.

Bigs
- Ellis(offer) 6'8" 210 Wichita, KS (Heights HS) - Pray & Play Players

- Cauley(offer) 6'10" 210 Olathe, KS (Northwest HS) - Spiece MoKan

- Joshkema Nicholas 6'11" 215 Wabash Valley(IL) JC
Finished up his HS career this past spring at a private school in Miami area. According to an article posted in this thread a couple mos back, our staff placed him at Wabash Valley. As a FR at Wabash, he's currently averaging 4 pts, 3 rebs and 1 block for a 20-2 team that's ranked 5th in the country. Tough to say what KSU's interest level in him will be by the time his SO yr is complete.

- Tyrone Haughton 6'9" 200 Miami Dr Krop
Rodriguez's HS teammatte, he's turned some heads this year with his athletic play in the paint. No Rivals profile yet but ESPN has rated him as a "90" which means they see him as a fringe Top 150 recruit and is the same ranking they have given to Diaz, Gipson, and Rodriguez. Per Scout, he's hearing from Alabama, Florida, Louisville and West Virginia along with KSU. (ESPN needs to correct his school list)

- Daniel Dingle 6'7" 220 Bronx, NY St Raymond's HS - Long Island Lightning
Not currently ranked by Rivals, he's skilled combo F with an impressive offer list including Arizona, Cincy, Va Tech, Virginia, Seton Hall, St John's, and West Virginia among others but not including KSU at this time.

- Stephon Blair 6'8" 210 Ft. Lauderdale, FL Dillard HS - Florida Rams
Ranked 120th nationally by Rivals
Blair had mentioned KSU as a team that had contacted him in a couple of updates from the 09-10 season, but haven't seen KSU mentioned in contact with him lately.

- Dominique Wilson 6'9" 215 KCK Piper HS, now attending prep school at Maine Central Institute - KC 76ers
Ranked 131st nationally, haven't seen KSU mentioned in contact with him lately either(or anybody else for that matter).

- Jordon Granger 6'8" 180 St. Louis McCluer North HS - St Louis Eagles

- Gavin Thurman 6'6" 200 Wichita SE - KC Pump & Run

Wings

- Marcus Smart 6'4" 205 Flower Mound, TX - TX Assault
5* ranked 22nd nationally by Rivals, along with Cauley and Ellis, Smart has received 1 of the 3 known outstanding offers our staff has tendered for this class(Shawn Smith also got 1 but is off the board now).

- Anthony Joseph Perez Cortesia 6'8" 200 Lee Academy in Maine
I think most here are already a little familiar with the native Venezuelan, will be interesting to see how develops and if KSU will extend him an offer, ESPN recently downgraded him to an 88(don't like that)

Guards
- Ian Baker 6'1" 170 Jacksonville ACD - Heart & Hustle

- Wesley Staen 6'1" Sioux City, IA (Bishop Heelan HS) - Kingdom Hoops
KSU had been mentioned in connectionw with Staten in the past, but KSU has not been listed as a school recruiting him of late.

- Benny Parker 5'8" KCK (Sumner Academy) - KC 76ers

Can't say I'm all that optimistic either. Smart would be huge, not only for our roster over the next few years, but to also prove we can beat the big boys for a recruit once in a while.

I'll just add that I really like Dingle, we haven't had a guy over 6'5" that can really PLAY since Beas/Walker. I suppose APJC could fill that bill but it sounds like the jury is still sort of out on whether he's legit or not.

they only have one (maybe two-three) to fill.  and they've had lots of time to work on it, plus good candidates in their geographic focal areas.  i have to be optimistic under those conditions.

what's the alternative, shoot kstate bball in the head?

In addition to these they now have a excellent selling point in the practice facility, plus    :AA:

If they can't pull a top 100 guy out of this class it will be a huge failure.

Semi  :ksu: (Not saying OJ Jr will be THE ANSWER but he's something to sorta rely on  :dunno:)

Or pull something miraculous out of their butts, and by "miraculous" I mean "landing an immediate impact player" or "drastic player improvement"

But hey, we gotta hang in there, RAGE AGAINST THE DYING OF THE LIGHT  :ksu:

Talk about whiff city in KC.

http://kcprephoops.wordpress.com/2010/08/28/the-top-25-kansas-city-players-now-making-an-impact-in-college/

meh.  the only real whiff there is burks.  and the staff identifying him when few others did is sort of an slthey victory.  reed was so dicey coming out of hs, that it's hard to blame the staff for not taking him.  and they don't really have a fair shot at pump and run recruits, so it's not really fair to blame them for not getting any.

What's the reason for this? Because of the KU connections?

We see some reference to our post on Top 25 KC kids playing in college. In defense of Wildcats, they have definitely made KC a priority and are working to sign kids from the area. Spradling and Nino Williams are both on our list and word is that Willie Reed is a target - http://kcprephoops.wordpress.com/2010/08/28/the-top-25-kansas-city-players-now-making-an-impact-in-college/
