guarentee we will only get one 3 star in 2012.

you've been confident that they'll end up with perez-cortesia all along.

IMO, Smart and Ellis will sign somewhere else. Which Leaves cortesia who is a 3 star. SYS, where do you see him finishing overall.

No Shawn Smith either? I mean, SG is the least of our concerns, but I feel he's out best shot outside of APC right now.

three star.

if they don't lose anyone else before the 2012 class finishes, i'd expect the lone 'ship to go to a big.  but i imagine something will happen before then.

ESPN w/update from Marriot Invitiational where Krop played last weekend. Having watched a little over half of that game w/Miller Grove, I gotta say I didn't really see much out of Haughton, and I mean literally, he didn't play a whole lot in the 2nd half.

Somewhat questionably, frustratingly, amusingly? they refused to comment on Rodriguez:

"Tyrone Haughton (Miami, Fla./ Dr. Krop)
2012, PF/C, 6-9, 205 pounds
In his head-to-head matchup with Super 60 power forward Tony Parker (Lithonia, Ga./ Miller Grove), Haughton showed the ability to battle despite giving up 40 pounds to Parker. He is a long, bouncy athlete with tremendous length and upside. He has great timing when blocking/challenging shots and gives good effort running the floor. He is still developing offensively, but showed a nice jump hook over his left shoulder. High-major programs will be tracking his progress closely."

And dammit ESPN, fix the kid's profile list  :chainsaw:

"I think it came down to Coach Jones," Smith said. "That's what it was about to me. Who was recruiting me the hardest? A lot of schools recruited me the same as Coach Jones, but what type of coach are they? Kansas State was recruiting me hard, but there's a difference between Frank Martin and Donnie Jones. Coach Jones is by far the best coach. I think it came down to that."

Tards are all over this.

If Frank turns in one more season similar to this, they may end him.

he currently has no favorites or leaders among UCF, Florida, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Florida State, Kansas State and Cincinnati.

"I like them all," Smith said.

more on smith.  despite the quote, transferring from acd to providence is not kstate friendly.

While the quote will make for fun BBSing, this was the end of Smith. The UCF connections at Providence pretty much made UCF a done deal.

Couple Scout updates of interest. 1st, Wes Staten a 6'1" combo G from Sioux City, IA, was a prospect we've been mentioned in connection to in the past, but it doesn't appear that we are actively recrutiing him right now:

"The 6-foot-1, 160-pound point guard currently holds offers from Iowa State and VCU and is being recruited by Wichita State, Iowa, Minnesota, UNI, Illinois, Kansas, and Florida."

http://iowastate.scout.com/2/1042601.html

2nd, right as it beomes clear Smith wasn't an option for us any more, we pop up on the radar of another wing, 6'4" Junior Lomomba who currently attends school and plays ball in Madison, WI but is originally from Montreal. Huggins offered him after he attended the W.Va. elite camp last summer:

“(Along w/Illinois)Tennessee, Baylor, New Mexico State, Xavier, Kansas State, and West Virginia.”

Lomomba says he is not in a rush to make a decision on where he will play his college ball. He is open to any and all schools that want to recruit him."
