Drove by the Central Arkansas bus on the way back from the Chiefs game tonight. Bus drove slowly in the right lane. No other insights or observations to offer at this time.

it is not even worth watching.  definitely not the schedule a team with this much talent benefits from.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

isn’t the girl from the spanish national team going to get minutes next season at the 1?

Would assume so, which will be interesting because this coaching staff clearly values height/length at every position.

But, it's quite possible the idea is that she backs up Sides for 2 years and then it's her turrn.

I don't see Sides playing point, ever. Zy Walker is the backup point guard and she'll likely get more minutes this year. Alexis Hess may get some PG minutes too.

We'll see and I do think there are some limitations there, but she obviously did last year. She's an awfully short off-guard - especially for this coaching staff...

Mittie was on The Game for media day on Tuesday and he indicated that he wanted to get Sides minutes at the point in practice because he wants in get Serena off the ball more, but Taryn has been hurt the entire preseason. She started no contact drills this week.
MiR, do you see Taryn being a player who can consistently handle the point at the Big XII level?

I don't. I am bearish on her being a contributor for a top 25 program in a power conference. She doesn't appear to have size, strength, or athleticism. Reading the tea leaves, it seems as is Mittie doesn't agree with my assessment. I hope like hell that I'm wrong.

You're definitely wrong.

Revisiting this. She's been really good this year and seems to be growing with confidence each game. I still have reservations but she's shooting the crap out of the ball and doing things to get herself open shots. I'm happy that Mittie has seemingly decided to not put her on the ball. Walker has been unreal as a point guard and Sides has benefitted from not having to handle and facilitate.

2 fouls in 3 minutes for Lee to start the game...

Doesn't matter - beating A&M by 20+ in the second quarter

At the risk of a monumental jinx, Sides is currently at a Laurie Koehn pace of 3.3 3-pt makes per game (in faaaaaaaaaar less PT). That's better than all but Koehn's freshman year (3.6 makes per game).

Needless to say, her current .553 percentage would be just a hair better than Koehn's best (.435).

it’s fair to say that she’s put in work and earned her minutes and if they can figure out how to get her shots against taller defenders, her on court presence will make a huge impact on our interior play.  serena should be drawing the taller defenders to her so maybe this works?

Their ability to spread the floor has and will continue to allow her to get shots. Walker and Glenn also significantly increasing their 3 point percentages has gone largely not talked about, but if they continue to be threats, it will lead to open shots for everyone. Sundell and Poindexter haven't shot the ball to their capabilities yet, Sundell's percentage and Poindexter's usage has been off, but no defense will be sagging off of them to help with Sides, Walker, or Glenn.

I really hope they hold up, because depth is the only real issue right now. Maupin, Sanchez, and Lester aren't good enough to contribute against top 10 teams and they aren't going to be.

To be clear, I was right about Sides at the point. She hasn't played many minutes with the ball at all and she plays a ton of minutes next to Walker. I'm glad Mittie changed his mind about that. There's not going to be many non garbage time minutes when either Walker or Sundell, or frankly Glenn, won't be on the court, there's no reason for Sides to play the point.

Bringing up Hudl on a web browser on the video feed to turn off the sound to fix the echoing on the audio was a nice touch

That was amazing. Our local high school puts together a better production. I thought last year’s game in St Jo was the worst broadcast I had ever seen but this is worse.

You guys should have come up. We could have hung out. A lot smaller crowd than last year obviously, but K-State represented pretty well considering the opponent.

I was there, sitting right behind MTSU's bench. That game presentation was cheeks. We have at least 2 more games in St. Joe. There's no opponent for next year's game yet and we play Creighton in 2026. That crowd was small and really old, so it was lame. It would be somewhat helpful if they allowed cheerleaders, mascots, and the band. K-State should by tickets for students behind one of the goals and bus them to the game.

Ha! That was scottwildcat?! It was hilarious.  :D

We were 5 rows behind the K-State bench. I got to talk with Taryn’s dad for about 20 minutes before the game. Very rough first half but good to see them flip the switch in the 2nd.

I wasn't worried about the first half, at all, we did everything right but hit shots.

I was impressed by Taryn's ability to guard last night. They were only getting scoring from #10 and Taryn did a very good job of shutting her down in the second half.

Jaelyn was awesome last night. Her shooting has come a long way in a very short time.

Got to see the  Ladycats in the OOD this afternoon. Very fun team to watch. Lots of nice passing. Pretty comfortable win over Cincinnati.

Do any other super fans want to go in on an all sessions table with me for the KSU Lady cats tournament winning run in KC the first weekend of march this year. A table of 4 for $650 with booze and food so we can watch the game courtside? Sign me up. Serious inquiries only

Wait, booze and food are included? And this includes four courtside tickets to all the games? Sounds ridiculous cheap if true.
