I'm going to be super pissed if he doesnt come out by the time I get home.

I was keeping him in a tubbermaid container in a spare bedroom, go to check on him over lunch and he isnt there! Move all the grass around and still no Emawnk...Check under bed and dresser...Nothing, then I see the tail and snap a pic....pull on tail but he wont fit through crevice of vent cover and wall....take off vent cover and go to grab him and BOOM, darts into vent.

The actual duct is about 6-12 inches below the vent/wall opening and I could hear him moving around in there

                                                                   Vent----->   =]
                                                   Floor -->  ---------------- ]
              Duct--->                     ______________________/

I Put a T-shirt down the vent for him to climb out on and really hope he does, last thing I need is Emawnk dying in my ductwork.

you guys, what if emawnk was faking this whole time, and now he's going to call in an army of 'munks to takeover the house?

Good news and GOOD NEWS.

Emawnk made it out of the vent by the time I got home and was chilling in the room.

His legs are also doing MUCH better, took me and my brother about 5 minutes to corral(sp?) him and get him back to his makeshift home.

He still has a slight limp and couldnt really make it across the room but he is definitely doing better than a week ago.

Any way you could muzzle Lady and let her chase him about so that he can develop his escape and evasion skills?  He's going to need them in the wild.

So walked outside to get something out of my jeep around sundown and had this cat run up to me

Seemed friendly so i thought it was one of my neighbor's, just catting around for the night.  When i reached down to pet it, i noticed it lacked a tag, which isn't an immediate sign of a stray, but it also seemed to have a few fleas ( :sdeek: ) and was a little on the thin side... so i think it might be an abandoned pet guys, which is super  :bawl:

Anyways, set out a bowl of water and a can of refried beans i had no intention to eat (who brings, much less leaves, crap like that at someone's house?) and it ate a little bit.  After reading the chipmunk story i put some peanut butter on some bread and she seems to like that more.  I'm not letting this thing inside, as is, but if its still around tomorrow i might pick up a flea collar for it and consider keeping it around until i can find a home for her, other than that,anyone have any suggestions?

Wichita is too far south and/or west for chipmunks, but maybe the neighborhood squirrels might have reason to fear, but who cares, those things are nuts  :fatty:

I'm probably going to release Emawnk early next week, seems to be doing real well and constantly escapes his rubbermaid container. I put a peice of screen over the top now and will fatten him up with rasberries/nuts/dog food over the weekend then let him live his life.  :cry:
