Well I have a pretty cool animal story which you're not going to believe, but it's completely true:
I was walking my dog at about 10:30 at night, right before bed, and we were just walking around the block turning back onto our street when something jumped out of the bushes and walked to the middle of the street, right under a street light, and stopped.  And that something was a coyote.  Well my dog just froze and her ears went straight up and she just stared at it and I just stared at it, and then I started to reach into my pocket to get my phone to take a picture and it sprinted off behind a house and into their backyard.  BTW I live right in the middle of the city.  That's why this is so amazing.  There is what St. Joe calls the "Parkway system" which runs right through town and very near my house and it has trails and some woods and stuff, but still a coyote right in the middle of town!  It looked very healthy and strong too.  A lot of the time when I think of coyotes I think of scraggly looking mangy animals but this one looked really good.  Nice fur, well fed.  It was a cool experience.

I was playing disc golf last night, and when I walked by a trash barrel by one of the tee boxes, I heard noise/rumblings from inside the can.  When I looked inside, there was a baby raccoon trapped in the barrel.  The barrel was mounted on a post (to keep it from blowing over, vandals or raccoons tipping it over, etc.), so I was able to lift the barrel over the post and tip the can enough for the baby raccoon to escape.  Man, those guys can really move when they want to!   It was gone in the woods in an instant.

I was fishing at a business park pond in Lenexa (Like 87th and I-35) earlier this summer. A lady walking laps on her lunch break started talking to me and pointed out a coyote across the field, apparently it lives there and she see's it all the time.

You are the closest, or maybe even correct.  It is a shaved bear but don't know if it is black or brown or other.
