the child and his family are violating north dakota state law.
So what?
so they are breaking the law. what they are doing is illegal.
Does it violate your personal code of ethics? Is it immoral?
the state legislature of south dakota (as in the large majority of states) has passed a law making it illegal to own a raccoon, (and most other wild animals). if it isn't immoral, why have the representatives of the people in the united states overwhelmingly decided to make animal ownership illegal? it's not like this is some huge controversial problem demanding legislative attention, it is something they are doing because it apparently enjoys widespread popular support.
no, it does not violate my personal code of ethics.
