I don't know that he should've been reinstated as the rumors were bad (although waks sheds some light on it). The only thing that changed yesterday though was students being mean to the University President. It's pretty cowardly to kick a player off the team because college students are being mean to you. If that's how Linton handles dealing with college students, it's pretty reasonable to question his fitness to lead a university.
It wasn't really a story thought until the students started acting up. They DO NOT want this to be an espn storyline, semester is basically over, pres said, we're done here.

I don't think anyone has "cancer brain" or is trying to micromanage.
i think gene and jerome have tomlin's best interests at heart, but it's close enough to the end, pres doesn't want bad press so cut ties.
