Saw Black Widow last night. It was....ok :dunno People seem to really like it so maybe I'm just done with superhero movies. I'll prob still watch most of them, but I'm tired of needing to know who every person is, what time period things are in, etc. I just want to go back to watching movies without having to read about everything after.

Enjoyed Black Widow this afternoon with my daughter. Most stand alone Marvel I've seen. They do a good job telling the story for anyone to hop into it IMO.

The Tomorrow War 2.5 or 3/7.

The first five minutes were the best part of this movie. It sucked which I expected from an Amazon Original. I still think it's worth watching because it had Chris Pratt and it's an alien invasion movie.

This rating seems a bit low. You know, or should know, what it's going to be going in. I found it an enjoyable, mindless waste of time.

Edit: strong father/daughter vibes, if that tugs at the ol' heartstrings for you.

I watched this as well, and "enjoyable waste of time" seems pretty accurate to me.  If you are willing to set aside all of the "why didn't they just...." type stuff, it's fun.

The new space jam feels like an ad for Warner Bros.

I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

Yeah, there was a lot going on, but it wasn’t terrible. They did a good job making it current.

The Empty Man 3/7. I like scary movies and this was made available this weekend. The Empty Man appears in the first 10 minutes of the movie then you only see him, like, one other time over the course of the entire film. The movie isn't even really about the "Empty Man." It starts out cool but goes in a weird direction.

13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi

Love it. Pew pew. Boom.

Hate it. Always gets me riled up. No pit here though.

I watched the second half of Crazy Rich Asians on TBS last night (with commercials and all LOL) and what a delight! A top-tier romcom.

Space Jam was fine

I didn't like it but it very clearly was made more for younger kids than a nostalgia watch

I also thought Space Jam was "fine." That's a good way of putting it. Went in with extremely low expectations, though.

Watched “Porco Rosso” on HBO Max. It is in the Studio Ghibli section and is anime.

I don’t watch anime but thought I would give it a try.  I see the appeal of it, it had some beautiful art and cinematography, the dialogue and the story were very specific and very heavy in cliches, a couple laugh out loud funny Japanese stereotypes that were out of place in a movie set in the pre WW2 period. And also the magical realism and obvious ham handed cliche of a pig that is a pilot. But overall enjoyable enough that I will probably watch another one.

It's pretty good.  If you want something super visually beautiful watch Princess Kaguya.

Cliffhanger 5/7.

I've seen references about this movie since I was a kid. Particularly, the first scene. Sylvester Stallone's best move outside of the Rocky franchise that I've seem.

Also watched Dog Day Afternoon this weekend. 5/7. Great Al Pacino movie.
