started Dune the other night. pretty rough so far but i am committed to finishing this rough rider. i was trying to eat pizza when the fat guy with boils (?) all over his entire head killed another guy by rubbing his boils all over the other guy's face to death.

lots of leonardo dicaprio pointing at the screen meme when i recognize TLB actors. i don't think i've seen Sting yet
The movie is good
Agreed, this movie is a banger.  The Baron also removed the dudes heart plug if I remember correctly.

You guys are aware that the new version drops October 1st, right? Jason Momoa and Zendaya are in it. The lead is Timothee Chalamet whose work I'm not very familiar with. I remembered him having a very small part in Hostiles after looking at his IMDB.

coincidentally that movie was the first step towards me realizing robert pattinson actually kind of rules.

Hey, get a look at this Trumpalo.

Zola coming out June 30 by A24 studios looks like it will be great. I read the tweet thread it was based on.
Did you see who is playing the boyfriend?

Have you seen Tenet? Also why didn't you accept him before? It was the Trump Kristen Stewart tweets, wasn't it.

I haven't gotten around to Tenet yet.

A few nights ago I watched The Fundamentals of Caring.  I couldn't remember whether I'd seen it before, because it seems like a pretty formulaic indie dramedy.  But it was good.  Paul Rudd and the kid from Red Oaks.

Rented Nobody last night on Amazon Prime.  Very John Wick-ey which would make sense considering the writer.  Overall was a pretty good flick.
I really didn’t know anything About it and loved it!

The pictures in Free Solo were amazing. I enjoyed the struggle and the crazy of Meru. I haven't seen Dawn Wall.

My favorite climbing doc, though, is Assault on El Capitan. Some locals didn't like these outsiders who may or may not have been "cheating" to do a super difficult climb. So, the locals would do things like take dumps on their equipment in the middle of the night. Check this out:

The story of Wings of Steel is part legend and part myth. The first ascent team spent 39 days climbing the controversial route. The result - death threats, physical assaults and a slander campaign that polarized the climbing community for over 30 years.

I liked Meru more than Free Solo.

Has anyone else watched Apollo 11?

It came out in 2019. Made entirely with archival video and audio leading up to the successful moonshot. Some of the footage is this special 70mm film of the rocket being rolled out to the launch site. It is just stunning. The amount of math and physics and small little pieces of equipment involved blows my mind. Like what if they miscalculated the amount of fuel it would take to launch the astronauts off of the moon surface and those guys just got stuck  there?

Tommy is team Patagonia. Alex is apparently northface. Shocking turn of events, Alex’s dad was probably aspergers. I mean. I hope he doesn’t die but he’s moderately difficult to really root for.

Saw Zola last night in my first trip to a movie theater in several years and it sucked, very disappointing. First of all it was only like an hour and ten minutes, but even with that run time there were times when the movie just drug along. Several shots of a like 10 second steady shot of a car driving down the street, not a chase, just a car driving. The jokes were sparse. Save your time and money and just read the tweet story again.
