Went to the movies for the first time in over a year and a half to see Old.  lmao.  Decent popcorn flick I guess, would score it about 3.5/7.

Coherence is a very good sci-fi movie. Basically, strange crap happens at a dinner amongst a group of friends and it's tied to a comet flying by. I don't want to say more because it was fun figuring things out and connecting dots. 6/7

I consumed 3-4 beers. It seemed psychedelic watching it. It would be hard keeping up with it on psychedelics.

PIG (2021) - 6/7 - Like the animal itself, Pig defies the hogwash of expectations with a beautiful odyssey of loss and love anchored by Nicolas Cage's affectingly raw performance. Pig is fundamentally a story about the hold that memories have on us: memories of those we've lost, of dreams abandoned, of the good times (rare though they may have been). And this story seems to have reawakened Cage himself. Pivoting away from the recent eccentric outings of genre b-films, Cage reminds us of the subdued talent he has within a particular scope, taking us back to his days of "Leaving Las Vegas," "Valley Girl," and "Moonstruck."

Point Break (1991) - 6/7 i thought this would be keanu's movie but it belongs to swayze. did you guys know this was directed by Kathryn Bigelow?? wow!

The Last Letter from Your Lover (2021) - 2/7

About Time (2013) - 5.5/7 really charming, great cast, some fun writing and chemistry.

Mank (2020) - 4.5/7 i had just rewatched Citizen Kane so it was time to take Mank out for a test drive. It's pretty good, Oldman is great as usual and i like the way the narrative structure echoes that of CK, but overall i felt like it was missing something. idk.

The American President (1995) - 6/7 it's fun watching a 1940s throwback style movie premise but with sorkin dialogue. the title sucks and it's clear they had no idea what to call this movie, but that has very little impact on your watching experience

Was this a theater watch?  I've heard good things about it and have been alternating between good Cage and bad Cage movies recently.

Enemy Mine  :raccoon: :raccoon: :raccoon: :raccoon: :raccoon: - rivals Dennis Quaid and alien Lou Gossett Jr crash land on a deserted planet during an intergalactic war.  They become friends and Dennis Quaid raises the alien baby after Lou dies giving birth.  A perfect film?

Just watched good will hunting again in honor of robin williams death on this day. 25 years old and that movie holds up insanely well and is a firm member of the Rick daris top 5 movies of all time list.

I did enjoy it. Pretty fun movie, although it didn’t exactly leave me thirsty for more.

I have a strong aversion to cheesy love stories. I really like Annette Benning, American Beauty    but I don't know how this movie is any different than any other cheesy romcom.
