We are fine.

Wife and I mid 50's. Kids are on their own, both have sugar daddies paying for just about everything. (If there is a thread on that, I can contribute a novel.) I do small cutbacks here and there but nothing that affects our lives too much.

I do feel for those with younger kids. Between day care, kids' expenses, lousy schools, post Covid effects...wow.

But I think the worst is still ahead of us. This group of morons have certain agendas that they are pushing so hard and far, with no thought of side effects or byproducts. Gas, food, and general supplies will stay high. The labor market will remain a mess. Supply chain will take at least another year or two to even out (Then this administration will attempt to take credit.) Polarization will continue due to the MSM's sensationalism.

I don't see this discussed much in all the hoopla about the show trials and media coverage of Jan 6th.

The dems don't care about votes anymore. They got away with 2020! There is more evidence of voter fraud than there is of a pipe bursting in Atlanta. They'll carry this charade on and on just to remind us "Don't you dare".

We'll riot and loot all summer long, but don't you dare. Try us and you'll rot in a jail cell awaiting trial.

We know you like your comfy life, you have your job to go to, reputation to uphold, soccer games, so deal with it. Keep bringing up Ray Epps and see what happens to you!

Give up your guns, pay out the nose, call him a her you bigot keep your religion to yourself and if you don't like it, that's fine. Just remember what happened last time.

Listen to your Tucker and OAN, ***** and moan and kick the dog, but don't you dare get out of line.

No. That woman is actually a judge. That pic was viral a year or two ago.

I know it's a joke of sorts to say "we are in 1984". I wonder how many have actually read that book? How many can see the parallels?

I've been worried for awhile, but the video that came out from Biden yesterday was outright scary and menacing. That wasn't an elected leader leading his people, that was a strongman barking at the American people. What made it worse was it wasn't even him - it was clearly a deep fake. Which means that whoever is running this thing took active steps to modify Biden's image to be about 20lbs more muscled, a wider and stronger face and a deeper and angrier voice. The goal was to intimidate American citizens. That should terrify each and everyone one of us.

The lies and redefining of words and all this are very unsettling and I never thought it could happen in this nation. Unfortunately, it seems that the response on the part of the right is to desire a right wing authoritarian figure to oppose this left wing cabal. That's not the answer either.

But if you think back to the first time you became serious or interested in politics, could you ever have imagined where we are today? I'll be honest, I didn't think it was possible. In no way did I ever foresee this. But here we are.

Anyone who publicly is afraid or intimidated by a 78-year-old man has got to be some out-of-shape maga.  He lost all credibility after that statement. :flush:

I don't watch the "News" on TV anymore

I don't watch any TV news at all. Its all a bunch of slanted propaganda. Every day is a new crisis in TV News-Land. It's crap.

No local TV news and no national TV news of any kind. ZERO.

Not watched any since the outcome of the 2020 election. I have found I don't need the TV news because I can get up to date info from other sources. I have not picked up a newspaper in 6 years.

I get my news from select websites and even then, I take what I read with a grain of salt. I do my own research.
-TexAgs.com (Politics/Sports/Entertainment)
-TigerDroppings.com (Politics)
-Rantingly.com
-DrudgeReport.com (For the Liberal slant)

I get my weather from the Weather Channel App. I get my financial news from checking out the markets on Investing.com. I read energy periodicals like Upstream Magazine.

I find that I am much less stressed out about the BS going on in the world and I am informed about the actual news that means something.

Guise, you can get information about weather conditions from the weather channel app! Try it sometime and see for yourself!! Also, has anyone told him that the drudge (while a useful source of information) is specifically designed to make you feel intensely anxious and terrible about the state of civilization?
