it is.  mbball and fball are treated diff than all other sports because some schools make money on them instead of losing it.

it's not that simple.  the rules are actually fairly complex.  but for a simplified, mostly-correct, summary, the recruit can accept any aid for which he qualifies as long as that aid is also available to non-athletes.  however, the recruit still counts against the sport's scholarship limit, regardless if he is on an athletic scholarship or some other form of aid.

there are some loopholes, though.

I wasn't talking about a scholaship, but federal loans.  Can't imagine how a kid talking out a widely available loan would count against a schollie limit.
