This team badly needs another shooter, especially after Pullen leaves, and Nino can fill that need. These guys are a lot harder to find than guys like Omari.

This would be huge to get him.

Nino is the definition of a JYC.  That's his game, not spotting up for 3's.  Doesn't mean he can't or won't, but I'm expecting him to play almost like a Sutton clone who can actually hit 1 or 2 threes a game though.

he can bang, but he can also shoot, and coaches say he's getting better. kids like him don't have to shoot three's at that level, but he's still lit it up a few times. point is, he's not really much of a sutton clone, either (prob a good thing). sutton was longer and could get higher, but nino can go inside and out .  :surprised:

if williams comes instead of lawrence, i'm like, 90% of the way back to happy.

turns out, not having the '11 to give was bothering me more than losing sutton.  sometimes it takes something like the williams report to clarify your thinking.

Why wouldn't Nino come?  Like, what is there to think about?

Also, have you seen him play?  Thoughts on his game?

Tough as nails NYC defender.  Always finds a way to get to the rack.  Jumps from here to the moon.  After a year of working on his shot he will be extremly hard to guard.  He's a lefty :)  .  Watched him Rip Jessy Sapp to pieces last week. Looks like he lost about 20lbs and is back in form. He looked good in manhattan last night and i'm sure he do good in manhattan in 2011.  Congrats to K-State.

Keep posting dude.

Didn't someone mention that Williams' guardians were prepared to pay for school for a year if he had to walk on for the first year??

If he's a threat to hit a 12 footer, let alone a 3, it's an upgrade offensively.  Still liked Dom's tenacity on the glass, hopefully some other dudes can pick up where he left off.

I personally find all of this disgusting and disrespectful. We are discussing the demise of one of the most beloved JYCs in history in an Omari Lawrence thread.

This is a sad day for K-State and K-State bbsers everywhere.

Cub post of the week.  Spot on 'nalysis Jackstraw.  He is a freshman but he can play.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Omari Lawerence Just informed me "I will be playing". And he has to sit out 1 year. And will be redshirting. So it looks like we are getting Nino and Omari.

Damnit 42!  I respect your work but JFC, your interview skills leave a lot to be desired.  May I suggest:

You:  "Are you going to play for KSTATE? And will you be getting a scholarship?"

Omari: "Yeah im going to play, But i have to sit out"

You: "I know that dipshit.  I asked you if you will be on scholarship.  Is the rich connecticut benefactor rumor true?  Are your parents rich?  Are you paying your own way?  Answer me damnit!!!!!"

No, use his redshirt on the transfer year and not lose a year of eligibility.

It's plausible . . . out of state tuition is cheap relative to most schools.   Plus didn't someone say that his family is fairly well off??    Just for my own knowledge, I recall someone mentioning that the NCAA doesn't allow walkon/redshirts to get regular financial aid . . .  is that correct??

Oh, there is absolutely no truth to the Rich K-State alum paying his way . . . yes, K-State has several significant benefactors who reside or did reside in Conn.   But none of them are paying for the kid's schooling.

Unless basketball is different than basketball, redshirts and walk-ons are eligible for traditional federal direct loans.  I know quite a few people who redshirted during their walk-on period and paid for school with fed loans.
