I realize this is likely a bit, and I'm being had here, but how are you not mad about this? If this were Kamala Harris and she brought in George Soros to violate the Impoundment Control Act, you would be posting about it nonstop. This is obviously bad and blatantly illegal. Do you not see your own hypocrisy?

Again.. its an act, I'm sure. But for Christ' sake. You sound like a rough ridin' insane person. Every Republican and every conservative should, in theory, be upset about this.

It's not an act. Most of the people I interact with day-to-day also support the dismantlement of America.

Only an absolutely insane person would support the current fiscal path the United States has been on for a long time.

The majority of the protests are from people with their arm buried shoulder deep into the ass end of the mega grift known as Federal spending.

The current fiscal path of the United States has been implemented by representatives that we voted for through legislation. If you are unhappy with that, you should vote accordingly. As mentioned already, the proposed budget is not doing anything to change that fiscal path.

The "savings" purported by DOGE is not going to do anything at all to move that fiscal path. It is also not savings, in the same sense that I have not suddenly saved thousands of dollars by simply not paying my mortgage.
What does that post have to do with what you originally said?

Nothing

It was a ghost town.

The tack ons for our clients in NYC to send out techs have gotten ridiculous.

If NYC wants it that way, what does it matter to anyone else?
You forgot to add “government” to the end of NYC.

If you believe what some Federal workers are claiming at an anecdotal level, then regardless of what goes on in Congress. Federal jobs need to be cut. Because the WFH'ers are running their side gigs and not doing their Federal jobs.

Being very familiar with one agency, the USDA, I do agree that the methods used there, were not good. They have a systemic performance review process, at least on the research side.

God damnit Chum. You and the 7 other people with side jobs are responsible for the deficit.  :)

It is not something people of New York City are worried about. I don't know anyone who regularly drives into lower Manhattan - most of the complaints came from New Jersey. No one has been talking about it after the week or so that it started.

That’s not going to happen in NY where hardcore #blueanon idiots vote in hardcore #blueanon idiots. Who are likely doing the bidding of real estate ghouls with their eye on prime real estate occupied by businesses being hurt by the new laws.

Yes I asked question. You know why? Because NYC has received $6 billion dollars from the Federal government over the last few years for transportation infrastructure . . . and has received millions more for the same from other Federal programs.

So just give us the money to build roads so we can tax the roads you gave us money for so we can make even more money for ourselves?

Fascinating.

I simply can't comprehend the way you think about things. If the federal government gives money for something, you think they should step in and control everything about it? Since the federal government gives money for education, the federal government should be able to control everything about a state's education policy? The list of things like this could go on and on.

In my opinion, if the federal government doesn't like what states or cities are doing transportation wise, the federal government should get out of the transportation funding game rather than run roughshod over federalism.

And I don't mean selectively choosing to fund states or localities that are operating in an approved manner. Either fund stuff and shut up or don't fund stuff.

What are you arguing with the wind about here? The 45 days is the period Congress has to approve legislation for a funding change. Is your stance that the executive branch is going to spend these funds in 45 days if there is no legislation authorizing the funding change?

It is not a 45 day window within which to let Congress know you're ignoring appropriations. Its a window to temporarily withhold spending and request Congress change enacted funding.

Are you trying to say the Federal government should just give out money and then have no say in how things that it funds either in whole or in part are operated?

If so, great. I can think of billions in Federal programs funded by Congress during the last administration. That got slogged into uber sloth levels of “progress” because of post legislative approval extra bureaucratic oversight by the executive branch.

The Federal Government approved the program . . . the Federal Government can then revoke approval, can it not?

On what grounds?  Because there's not an alternative free passage through the area per our current SOT.

I'm all for the great videos like we're getting from London of the traffic control cameras and related technology being cut down like timber. They're very enjoyable and funny to watch.

The @WhiteHouse account is super cringe. That is one of the least offensive tweets I've seen from that account in the last few weeks.
