Also signed EOs to take over FEC, FCC, and SEC. I'm really starting to wonder how all of this is going to shake out in 4 years. Like, i'm hopeful we still have elections by then, but man. Aside from saying he could shoot someone on 5th avenue and not lose supporters, saying he was going to be a dictator on day one is the next most truthful thing he has ever said. So say for example that there are actual fair elections and the Ds win? Will they regret all of this? I think it's pretty obvious that they are going to try and make it so they can't lose, but what if they do?  For the record, if the Dems do win, I don't want that person to be a dictator either. Will we even try or be able to unwind all of this if it's an option? Pretty fascinating if it all wasn't so grim.

I think if I were facing this mess as a newly elected president, I would need to plug the holes that allowed this situation to happen in the first place before I could even address what it would take to fix the damages.

I think that will be the interesting part. Obviously if the old man YOLOs and just says he's staying or if JD gets the nod, everything will stay in place. Will a Dem actually change things back or want all of these new powers too? Watching the media and especially MAGA lose their crap and pretend they were never for these things would be pretty hilarious, but I agree that making sure this can't happen should be a priority but I don't ever see it getting back to that honestly. Rich people finally broke through and I don't see them giving anything back.

not to "both sides" things but both sides will continue to use the lawless actions of the other side to act in ways that are more and more lawless.

The people are the final check.  I just hope the military remembers they swore an oath to the Constitution and to the American People and not to 1 man.

I mean I guess. MAGA has stated over and over that they don't give a crap about the constitution as long as Trump is in charge.

Incredible level of paranoia from #blueanongE. Goodness, how positively sad.

Also, a shout out to the Biden administration for going to the courts and fighting hard to affirm that the POTUS has an absolute right to fire almost anyone working for the Federal Government.

DOGE is allegedly heading to the DOD.

#neocongE is going to absolutely rage out if that happens.

I realize this is likely a bit, and I'm being had here, but how are you not mad about this? If this were Kamala Harris and she brought in George Soros to violate the Impoundment Control Act, you would be posting about it nonstop. This is obviously bad and blatantly illegal. Do you not see your own hypocrisy?

Again.. its an act, I'm sure. But for Christ' sake. You sound like a rough ridin' insane person. Every Republican and every conservative should, in theory, be upset about this.

The Executive Branch has not immediately informed Congress of their intent to impound money? If so, why do we know about it and Congress doesn't? What's all the protesting by #blueanon congressional grifters about if Congress doesn't know?  When did the 45 day period get revoked?

Only an absolutely insane person would support the current fiscal path the United States has been on for a long time.

The majority of the protests are from people with their arm buried shoulder deep into the ass end of the mega grift known as Federal spending.

Yes, it's mostly US citizens.

Yes, it's mostly US citizens.

It's also mostly US citizens who fully support the mega grift that Federal spending, because a substantial portion of them benefit tremendously from said grift.

They'll happily ride that gravy train until absolute unavoidable insolvency (every normal person knows we're already there, just the interest alone takes out a nice chunk of our GDP annually)

I hear you.

However pubs have put forward a budget that is not even attempting to reduce deficit spending.

Cutting federal programs and the jobs associated with them just to hand tax breaks to a few doesn't feel like a great strategy.

If you believe what some Federal workers are claiming at an anecdotal level, then regardless of what goes on in Congress. Federal jobs need to be cut. Because the WFH'ers are running their side gigs and not doing their Federal jobs.

Being very familiar with one agency, the USDA, I do agree that the methods used there, were not good. They have a systemic performance review process, at least on the research side.

The current fiscal path of the United States has been implemented by representatives that we voted for through legislation. If you are unhappy with that, you should vote accordingly. As mentioned already, the proposed budget is not doing anything to change that fiscal path.

The "savings" purported by DOGE is not going to do anything at all to move that fiscal path. It is also not savings, in the same sense that I have not suddenly saved thousands of dollars by simply not paying my mortgage.

God damnit Chum. You and the 7 other people with side jobs are responsible for the deficit.  :)

Like I have zero doubt there are ridiculous surcharges from contractors but lower Manhattan has not been anything close to a ghost town the last couple of months lol.
