Man, who hurt you rusty?

his fraternity experience must have been a [redacted] for him to take such an obviously narrow and inane view of this

That's clearly the only way anyone could think social fraternity culture may have played a part in this behavior.

well every single person here agrees that "social fraternity culture may have played a part in this behavior". your point that everyone disagrees with is that fraternities are "unnecessary" and should be done away with

Why are they mad that a black male who happens to be in the fraternity went to the Black Student Union meeting?

I think they wanted to talk to the president or at least an officer, rather than their token black member who was only sent to the meeting because he's black.

The meeting was the evening of the march. I guess from the article I couldn't tell that they had actually invited the fraternity president to the meeting. It just said it was a BSU meeting to discuss the march. They should have given him a little more notice if they are going to be mad he didn't show up.

How do you think the fraternity decided on which member to send?

I think that guy was already planning to go and they just said, "oh so you'll be there anyway so just tell us what they say."

Actually I have no idea because the article didn't give enough information.

SAE got Timothy McVeigh's lawyer to maybe sue OU.

http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2015/03/13/392854367/fraternitys-defense-lawyer-not-ruling-out-suing-ou?utm_medium=RSS&utm_campaign=thetwoway

I'd probably pick an attorney whose most high profile client wasn't executed.  Also I'd like to think a trial of any sort wouldn't be welcomed by SAE national.

The thread should be about funny SAE things. Just look at that pic below! It's for real!?!? It's not a parody!?!? Are you rough ridin' kidding me!?!?

John O. Moseley Leadership School

Quote
The Sigma Alpha Epsilon members who were caught on video singing a racist song learned the offensive lyrics at a national fraternity leadership cruise four years ago, the University of Oklahoma revealed Friday.
