I was prepared for this. Back on page 14 or so I posted a link about another player that Dooley denied release to.

So enlighten me, I'm not up on NCAA rules, if he does not get the release he will just have to sit out a year correct? Is there something I'm missing here?

Also if he has to sit out a year does that also mean he can't practice or be on the field?

Dooley has to know what he's doing. He was 17-20 at Louisiana Tech.

Does a school gain something from not releasing a kid? Dooley said it was 'professional' not 'personal.' So it would mean that Bryce can't practice or do anything at a D1 school for a year right, like Aspirilla and Isiah Thomas?

Also, doesn't something like this hurt recruiting? I mean a kid now might be more reluctant to go to Tennessee because they know they won't be allowed to transfer/released from schollie.

schadjoe Bryce can pay his own way at KSU next year with a grant, etc., or go junior college route; either way can play in 2011

Guess Dooley doesn't want any new recruits coming to Tennessee if they're evening considering leaving one day. When they sign their LOI, they sign in blood.

All it means is that he has to pay his own way to KSU this year. Not really a big deal. He'll play next season.

So, assume he doesn't pay his own way next year and give us a chance to redshirt him, he'd only have 2 seasons of eligibility left starting in 2011?

he'll pay his own way. and buy "pay," i obviously mean that some money will show up at his parents house.
