Former Wichita East standout Bryce Brown announced he would attend the University of Tennessee on March 16, 2009.
New Tennessee football coach Derek Dooley addressed the status of former Wichita East standout Bryce Brown in one of his first questions at SEC Media Days on Friday.
"You want to start with Bryce Brown?" Dooley said, according to GoVolsExtra.com. "Here's the latest on Bryce, I have not met with Bryce. I'll promise you, I haven't met with him. There's nothing new, which shocks you, I know.
"He was in town, but I did not see him. I think he was coming in when I was leaving. I anticipate us talking before he leaves town. I don't expect -- I feel the same way I felt since the day he left, that he's not a part of our team. The only reason this is dragging is he hasn't ever told me he wanted a release to a certain school, and he's never told me he wants to come back. At some point he's going to have to ask for a release, which I expect will be soon."
Brown played his freshman season at Tennessee in 2009. He left the team in March, but has not officially asked for a release from the school.

I heard that Dooley kept oscar waiting in an unairconditioned lobby for 90 minutes and then canceled the appointment. He did this four times to be exact. Each time, he promised that there would be strippers and blow. oscar was offended by this. He went to church and prayed for three straight days. Then, he was even more offended to find out that Dooley lied and there were never any strippers and blow in the first place. Dooley kept pushing the appointment farther and farther back. The final straw for oscar was when Dooley tried to schedule the appointment in November. oscar was onto his scheme and sent the text after a dozen more attempts to meet Dooley face to face in order to discuss his future and Jesus Christ, time permitting. I don't know WTF else anyone could expect him to do.

According to witnesses, the officer was hit in the head and knocked to the ground. Once on the ground the suspect kicked the officer several times before fleeing the scene.

Arthur Brown said he's delayed the NCAA's request to meet soon in Witchita, Kan., because he's been preparing for an appeal for Bryce to be granted a transfer from Tennesssee.
Arthur Brown said he and his son had the appeal teleconference with Tennessee on Wednesday and it lasted an hour and a half.
Recently, Tennessee coach Derek Dooley denied Brown's request for a transfer to Kansas State, laying out three specific criteria for his decision.
"Bryce has tried to express why they should reverse the decision," Arthur Brown said. "We expressed how he has felt. We laid out a lot about our family's struggles with illnesses and stresses. I feel we made a good case for an overturn."
Tennessee told the Browns they would take 15 days from the request for appeal, which means they should know the result on or before Aug. 21.
Bryce Brown, one of the nation's top recruits entering last season, plans to enroll at Kansas State and begin classes on Aug. 23.
If Dooley's decision is not overturned, Brown can't be on scholarship this season, and the family would have to pay his tuition.
As for the NCAA inquiry, Arthur Brown said his family will cooperate with investigators.

Well, A Brown will be some help. And, although D Rob is badass, B Brown should be doing most of the pill totin'.
If we got just a little help on the D next year, with D Rob toting the pill - we could actually contend for the North... meh, lofty goals.

I wouldn't be all that surprised if we didn't try to redshirt D Rob this year. Let Hubert get whatever carries are left after Thomas. Hubert transfers to some Texas school and Bryce gets most of the carries next year with D Rob backing him up. Bryce will be eligible for the draft after his redshirt sophomore season and may well declare. The dude was the number 1 recruit in the freaking country, for pete's sake. I like Bryce and I'm glad he's representing Kansas so nicely in the NFL. But he never really played for us so I cannot consider him a K-Stater and as such he will never mean as much to me as Sproles or DT or Jordy.
For some reason, I feel that Bryce is more EMAW than Freemaw. Not sure why, but never felt the love with Freeman. Either way, both are on my fantasy team and Bryce is about to help me mount an epic comeback win whilst scoring more points in one week than Freemaw has all year.

K-State linebacker Arthur Brown took in younger brother Bryce Brown’s record-setting performance on “Monday Night Football” in bits and pieces. Arthur was at his apartment, going back and forth from his bedroom to the living room, where his roommates were watching the game.
Bryce set Philadelphia’s single-game rushing record for rookies with 178 yards and two touchdowns in a 30-22 loss to Carolina.
“I watched here and there because I had some work to do, but I’m tremendously proud of him,” Arthur said. “I’m definitely looking forward to his future.”
Arthur and Bryce, who played two games at K-State last season before quitting the team, kept with their routine of texting each other while one of them is playing and one of them is watching — messages of encouragement and praise that they receive after the game.
“I really don’t like to sit and watch a whole game, but I did because Bryce was playing,” said K-State wide receiver Chris Harper, a fellow Wichitan and one of Arthur’s roommates. “Arthur would hear us yelling and screaming, then would come out of his room and be like ‘what happened?’?”
Arthur is notorious for his aversion to mainstream media, television, movies and music, so it’s understandable that an NFL game, even one featuring his brother, might not hold his interest.
“We’re talking about a guy who has never really watched TV or games or anything like that,” Harper said. “One time, I asked him if (Houston Texans All-Pro wide receiver) Andre Johnson ever came and worked out with the team when he played for Miami and he was like ‘Who is Andre Johnson?’?”

think people have seen too much talent for the eagles to simply cut him. i assume they will try and trade him for some good draft picks. it would be hard to justify giving the job to him over McCoy, even with his lackluster year.

Earps details the bizarre system of the hostess business, where pretty, personable, well-trained college women are used as bait to lure top talent. Even if they don't have physical relationships with high school players (and some certainly do), they are encouraged to engage in at least pseudo romantic relationships through social media, text and Skype for months on end. All of this comes with the approval and encouragement of athletic department officials and highly paid coaches.

At one point, Bryce Brown, a running back from Kansas and the No. 1 recruit in America, told then-Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin he wanted to make a last-minute unofficial visit to Knoxville. Kiffin called Earps, who had hosted Brown during a previous visit and was in near constant contact with him.
"I asked [Brown] what he wanted to do," Earps said Kiffin told her. "[Brown] said, 'Coach, all I want to do is hang out with Lacey.' So will you take him out?" When she agreed, Kiffin gave her $40 for expenses. She hung out with him for a couple days and he signed with the Vols.

More detail: They were pretty reserved during my shenanigans. I said to them, "You look like you have a vested interest in this game. Is one of the players your son?" They looked at each other and then he looked back at me and quietly said, "Arthur Brown is our son." I said, "He is awesome! You raised a fine young man! Can I hug you?" They smiled and said, "Sure!"
