Has to sit a year either way.  Can't be on a football scholly his first season out (at least at a D1) if not released.  Going to USC is just as easy as going to KSU for him if he has no release.  The rumor was that they wouldn't release him or anyone to go to USC but everyone was hopeful that they would release him to KSU.  He can't play next year either way but he could at least get a football scholly and redshirt if he had a release.  No downside whatsoever for us if he still comes to KSU.  He'd just redshirt and pay his own way.

It feels like Bryce's football skills have gotten lost in all of this hooplah.  So, lastnight I watched some of Bryce's highlight vids, and they blew my mind.  I know some Tennessee Volunteers were disappointed with his performance last year and made allegations of Bryce being a Prima donna.  Well prima donna or not, he really is an incredible talent.  Like for example, watch this link:

I kind of forgot that he's a year removed from being the best high school player in America, according to rivals.com.  It's all so surreal.  Hasn't really sunk in yet.

Can someone please clear up what the implications of not having a release are? No Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) answers please.

Amazing how many people in these reports continue to act like the release is a big deal.  Most prolly don't realize it costs KS kids $12.00 to go to KSU.
isn't the release a big deal since paying to go to KSU is easier than paying to go to USC ?

Good point.  KSU is the clear option either way.  Actually gives us an open scholy for this season if he doesn't get released (MASOLI!?)

Masali's release forms have been sent to ole miss (ole missoli?)

About to get a little  :powerespect: here, but really hope that Arthur and Bryce turn into something very good at KSU.

At very least, it would help me tolerate football season a little easier rather than just hoping basketball would start sooner.

He is the only five-star recruit from Kansas who went on fasts, delayed his decision until months after signing day despite finishing high school early enough to have been a spring enrollee, and agreed to be fronted by an obese former rapper who at one point considered sending Brown straight to the CFL without going to college at all. (Turns out the money north of the border wasn't good enough.)

God people take college football way too seriously. Also, from the comments...

I agree, they didn't handle it well at all. But it shouldn't it have been easy for Bryce to set the record straight?
