Welp, sounds like this thread may be prematurely retired. Someone fired RPGs at the international communications satellite in my neighborhood this morning. Evac is currently til 25 oct. This will almost guarantee a 30-day extension. And if it hits the 180-day mark at the end of December, it automatically goes unaccompanied (no kids).

Still take the little one but without free school and stuff?
We're back in Kansas right now. If it goes unaccompanied, that means no kids at all, so no return in January, tour over, etc. So, we'd go back to DC. On the bright side, someone else has to pack up all our stuff to ship back.

We're flexible. Meanwhile, in a promising sign, Egyptian media thinks there's a civil war coming and that the US met with the Germans and Jews at our military base in Germany to discuss how to get weapons to Hamas and the MB, because clearly there's never been five groups with more in common and a greater history of cooperation.

If a Rex paks in the Dub and no one is around to see it, does it really pak?
