If you listen very closely you can hear a high, thin (drunken) "EMAW!" @ 0:46:22.

I'm so glad I seized that moment. Basically my last night in Egypt. Went out with an EMAW blast in the midaan during a revolution. Very William Wallacey :gocho:

Got this from a friend today (it's the start of Eid al-Adha where they commemorate Moses almost sacrificing Isaac by ritualistically slaughtering cattle and goats then having a big ass feast)

I once was in Cairo during a feast, but it was in the spring time.  Before the feast there were large heards of sheep walking around the city, which was strange.  After the feast the sidewalks were covered in blood.  Would that have been Eid al-Adha?  Maybe its on a wierd calendar that changes the time of year slightly every year?

Also, I think you mean Abraham instead of Moses, right?  Is this a typo or a different version of biblical geneology?

Should "felix rex paks in wichita" posts go in here, or are they their own thread?  I know it's a hypothetical, but I'm just thinking if he accidentally paks while he's here, where should they go?

The embassy officially requested the ordered departure be lifted and that families be allowed to return. Should know in a few weeks if we get to go back  :impatient:

Our Pinay housekeeper (soon to be nanny) is also super duper excited, since she has more bills to pay after sending her own kids back to the Philippines because the schools are terrible in Egypt.

Cool. Just drop it at the front desk at the lobby before I leave.

Still DO have a housekeeper from the Philippines in Egypt. She's been keeping an eye on the place and watching the cats while we're gone.

How does that work? It seems like the Philippines would be better than Egypt. Plus there's so many Filipinos in the US.
