Fanning, would you consider yourself a "go-getter" type? You are in sales, I'm in sales, this is leading towards something...
I try to get everything I can. Tickets, women, emaw, alcohol, $, blow, etc.
Ok awesome. I considered myself that as well, (well, obviously still do) but the corporate world has a way of sucking some of that out of you. My point is, most people in sales consider themselves that, but when you think about it, that's probably something you already have and aren't going to lose. That's probably why they hired you in the first place. Maybe now it's time to work on skills you aren't as familiar with. (And most people aren't) Workplace etiquette is probably the hardest thing I ever had to learn. I know you don't like kissing your bosses ass, but if you don't want to at least try to become "friends" with him/her, then go start your own business. Because honestly, in reality, what they want when they hire you, beyond the obvious numbers, is a willingness to "blend in" and become part of the team.
