it's just not very "hard" in the modern world to find decent options to dine out vegetarian imo.

well if you're incapable of ordering your own entrée at a restaurant you could be in for big trouble with one.

well then i should be fine. i have no problem with it, but it is a fairly significant lifestyle choice, particularly in the midwest.

Preachy vegetarians are really annoying.

But I think the issue there is more the preachy thing than the vegetarian thing.  :dunno:

As a side note, I really enjoy it when michigancat gets all up in arms about a single comment and hammers it into the ground

Mrs. Stevesie60 and I were vegetarians for a 6 month period. I quit when I started working out because I had too eat so much carbs to feel full that it seemed to be defeating the purpose. Mrs. Stevesie60 still rarely eats meat.

I dated a gluten free vegetarian about two years ago. Very difficult to cook for. The only saving grace is that Southern California has a decent amount of weird specialized grocery stores. I basically cooked for her and then something completely different for me. At the time it didn't seem that bad but looking back it was a huge pain in the ass.

Fortunately she wasn't one of the weird, smelly, dreadlocked vegetarians. She was pretty normal outside of the diet.

Yeah, but did your wife grow dreadlocks and stop showering and say things like "meat is murder" in front of your family and stuff?

rusty.  be on the lookout for a restaurant in the bay area called "tender greens"  - there's a few of them in the bay area.

hardcore veg street cred given to frequenters of this restaurant.

Yes.  It went pretty good.  We've been married for nine years and have two kids.

I could see alot of benefits. Like when it's BLT nite and you cook up the whole package of bacon your lady isnt all like "I want 3 strips" cause shes a veg, then you get to put the whole lb on your badass blt
