Quote from: DQ12 on July 31, 2023, 02:41:11 PMi don't know why you guys are being jerks about old houses.Check out this hot POA. It needs a lot of work, but you dump 400k into that baby and you're sitting on 7300 sq ft. You're a 3 minute walk from the streetcar, and a short ride down to the Royals game. All for less than $800k. My wife and I could both, realistically, commute via streetcar from there. My child(ren) would have issues with schools, but there are some really quality and educational youtube channels these days!Is that alluring or what?https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/3512-Kenwood-Ave-Kansas-City-MO-64109/2341351_zpid/

It's a really cool old house, and agree on too much house. That is so much to attend to. If it was 2500 sqft you coulsell it at probably 200k, and then dump 350k into it and it'd be the belle of the Hyde Park ball
I’ve become less and less interested in physical houses as I’ve gotten older. I always planned on building 1 more custom home on a big piece of land or renovating some existing one to live the rest of my days in but now don’t see the point. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Beautiful house (Minus the radiators) but what are you going to do with 8 bedrooms?
in the end, EMAW will always win.
I think it involves AA metal
As a soon to be empty nester, seriously considering selling our soon to be too big house and building a barndo on 40-50 acres.

I've been doing the RV life as an empty nester but grabbing an apartment to help my 19 y.o. kiddo get on her feet.Building a 1200-1400 square foot ranch on ten acres in the next year or so. I've been looking at larger land but I really don't want to take care of it. I'd rather travel and flip someone a $100 to mow while I'm gone.

Will only mow the area immediately around the structure....probably a couple acres.

What does a 50 acre parcel with a suitable building site go for these days?
Quote from: wetwillie on February 21, 2024, 12:26:14 PMWhat does a 50 acre parcel with a suitable building site go for these days? Depends on where you are at. Anywhere from $1500 to $7000+ per acre. The good news is I don't necessarily need the property to have a suitable building site on it. I have the technology to fix that once I buy the property.
