Yeah, we will see what the damage is.  Not much water came in and it is just ground water like seeping up it seems like.  Not sure if that is worst case scenario or not.

Do all the houses in your neighborhood have trampolines in their back yards? When I look out my back windows, I don't want to look at that crap.

That's a VERY broad category! (Yes, it's beige.)

I could’ve bought six houses in Ford County for the cost of this place. I’m the most indebted sap on this blog now   :frown:

We have some friends who are lawyers for the government in DC and bought some over priced home near the capitol there. Too make life easier they got a super cheap house in West Virginia out in the county and they split their time between the two, Air bnbing their place in DC when they're away. You should look into that, bubbles. They have the luxury of working from home tho, so it makes it easier on them.

Yeah, bubbles, now that you are several millions in debt, you should look into buying a second home in a cheap area of WV so you can spend time out there instead of the desirable place that you thought it was worth buying a house in!

Getting married in a sunrise ceremony at Konza prairie (unsanctioned) isn't sounding so bad any more is it?

I don't know anyone in the bay area who has bought a house without one of the following:

a) down payment assistance from parents
b) tech IPO
c) selling the bay area house they bought 10+ years ago

Guy I work with lives in San Fran (we discussed how YOU people hate that like you’ve told me before). He’s got a baller apartment overlooking the bay and lives in one of the not garbagey parts but I forget which one. He told me the other day that he loves the city (from there originally) but he’s in his mid-30s, has two roommates, pays $3,500 a month in rent on a rent controlled place, and will never in his entire life be able to live in a dissimilar arrangement so he may just move to Chicago (where we always see each other anyway). Also one of his roommates doesn’t work and doesn’t seem to have any intense hobbies and how weird that was but he was explaining to me that he doesn’t really know him well enough to know what’s going on. That seems like a nuts arrangement for a mid 30s person.

Yeah I work with lots of people in their 30's with good jobs and roommates in shitty places. It's crazy.

Irl just refi’d a 15 at 2.875. If that’s a 30 number it’s smoking and nice work. Also congrats!

as a former home owner, there is something about coming home after a hard days work, and knowing there is no yard work, or handyman job waiting on me, just grab a beer and kick my feet up.

I do that but it requires me paying shitloads of people to do things for me.

Yep.  I was a ruthless negotiator with the financiers and sellers.  I owe it all to my close studying of the art of the deal.
