Because I don't think he's a very good qb coach.  If he's not a good position coach it makes me question his ability to teach/communicate well

If you are coordinating an offense, you should also be a good communicator/teacher.

hmm, i'll have to think about this take a bit more. Have there been other position coaches that had shitty units get promoted to coordinator? I mean, it has probably happened, but if the unit you coach is shitty, why would someone trust you to run a unit that includes more people?

Probably not shitty position coach to elite coordinator but you could go from average position coach to elite coordinator. Position coaches are probably more reliant on recruiting and game plans that could be largely out of their hands.

Also I think quantifiably evaluating position coaches like you can with coordinators is a challenge and makes it difficult to determine how effective a position coach really is at their job.

I think more than anything having an OC that can recruit and run a system that is attractive to play in is the most important part in this search.  Not sure Klein has either of those attributes.

That makes sense. I'm also of the opinion that any position coach needs to be a very good recruiter. If you can't recruit good QBs its going to be difficult to be a good QB coach.

I know LSU lost basically their entire back 7 but this has been the most dynamic I think the offense has looked all year. Lots of nice little wrinkles like WR screen and shovel pass to Sinnott.
