My only reservation with Klein is that if he's not good, then he will be very hard to fire. But then, no head coach should be able to replace 2 offensive coordinators before getting fired himself, anyway.

It's his to lose. 

That was an incredibly well called game.  Getting the call in and out of the huddle with 20+ seconds on the clock.  Going with pace after a first down multiple times.  Attacking on 3rd and longs, moving pocket, multiple formations, clearly adjusting the run game and some creativity/wrinkles (shovel/malik screen).  LOTS of guys getting touches in space.

Yeah, we looked awesome. It was against backups, but we don't ever look that good against FCS competition, and LSU's backups have to be at least that good.

I'm very low FBIQ but it seemed like they did some good things to adjust to LSUs blitzes. Agree that it was fun to see so many guys involved. Seems like we saw a lot of that during Klieman's first season.

ran some really creative plays, too. I remember it was like 3rd and 7ish (i believe) from around the 30 and Sky rolled right ended up scrambling to pick up the first down but he had Dineen wide open for a touchdown. Whether or not Dineen would have caught it who knows but he didn't have anyone close to him, not sure if Sky just didn't see him or what, but it was kind of fun to see a play where we had multiple successful options. Reminded me of 2012 several times CK just ran it for a first down but could have easily hit Harper or TT

A lot of people down playing the talent on this LSU team. I get that its not the same team they started the year with all be it a team that did go 6-6 regular season.  There is probably more talent for the 40 or so scholarship players on their roster than a decade worth of K-State recruits. They still had 7 defensive starters that were 4/5 star recruits.

Agree on the talent issue. The only caveat is that trust and communication is arguably more important for a defense than even talent, and these guys obviously wouldn’t have a ton of that. Still, as others noted there was a lot to like that had nothing to do with how many points we scored.

Was fun. One thing I’d say is that LSU didn’t have anything to gameplan on either. Like a rookie pitcher having early season success and then sucking.

How many bowl games have we looked like complete crap with a month to prepare? Play calling was very good. Allowed playmakers to make plays. Made offensive adjustments on the fly. was 10/14 on 3rd and 4th down. Not saying he's a homerun hire, but definitely better than Mess.
