Are you going up to victoria?  Not a bad use of time of you are, especially if w/o car/dog.  Easy and fun boat ride or seaplane, and victoria's fun.

I'll ask my suburban friends what they did/do w/their kids that age when they come into town.  Think I posted before, but especially if you can coordinate with a game, running over to west seattle and the beach there via the water taxi and back will be good for your whole crew.  You can also easily do a family day on elliott bay waterfront and pike place; waterfront now has an expanded aquarium plus some new overlook walkway that connects it up to pike place.

A lot will be weather-dependent, but I can't think of anything that you couldn't do flexibly for whatever days work best.  I'll ask people if there's anything they can think of that one would have to book in advance or otherwise commit to doing a certain day.

Loads of places to :combofan:

Trim, hit the showers. We've discovered my wife's BFF from Victoria has a conflict and can't do that week. Rusty, you're now on the clock. Going to NYC for a Yankees/Mets/Knicks trifecta. Staying at the Thompson Central Park.

anyone been to the gulf shores and have any pro tips? Is march a terrible time go there? I saw the temps are in the 60's and the water is about the same. Seems chilly.

March might be a bit early for the beach in Gulf Shores.  We've always stayed in Fort Walton.  Much less crowded than Gulf Shores beaches.  We would rent beach houses here... https://www.kivadunes.com/

thanks. still considering. pretty cheap condos and decent houses right on the beach, but I guess that's fairly pointless if its too cold to go in.

My college aged daughter and several of her sorority sisters are going to Gulf Shores for spring break.  So, maybe it's warmest enough.

Taking a Mediterranean cruise this May.  Leave out of Barcelona, then to Rome, Marina di Carrara, Ajaccio and then Ibiza.

Lol. Guys, I did it again. This one was def partially my fault because i'm an idiot, BUT STILL. Tried to book an Air BnB. I have an account there and I'm pretty sure i've booked with them before. Maybe VRBO but, :dunno: . Anywho, apparently ABNB needs your first born to be able to even book a place now. I was in a bit of a rush and the place I wanted only had these dates open and was booked solid. They need a front and back of my ID. I had a pic of my front already and that went through fine. Took a pic of my back and kept getting an error because the file was bigger than 3.5mbs or whatever. I looked and my pics kept coming in around 4. I tried like a million rough ridin' times and finally got my phone to take a pick under the limit. After 20 minutes of rage trying to do this and finally getting it through, guess the dumbass who's ID expired like 3 days ago? I'm now stuck in a loop because it wants my ID that isn't expired. After telling the family that we aren't going on vacation and breaking some stuff, I decide to try my Passport. Great idea right? Well, rough ridin' passports are bigger than IDs so that file was even rough ridin' bigger and I still couldn't get it through. I called and the nice lady suggested that I should download some spyware or use some free software that I can upload my passport too and they will nicely steal my identity in exchange for making the file smaller. I told her no thank you and ended up finding a place on VRBO.  :ksu:

Also, I wasn't even drunk this time

ha, true. This lady was trying to get me to use some random software to make my passport picture file smaller. I'm like, look nice lady, I can't even get your website to work, do you really think I'm going to figure that out even if I did want my identity stolen?

It's like 2.5 hour train between the two, just FYI. Barcelona will probably require a euro layover, Madrid has shitloads of directs from the US.

I would love this more than you know. We could do like a youtube channel and have a camera focused on his face to see the level of frustration and disappointment he would be experiencing answering my questions.

first spain trip (fanningbrag) we started in Barcelona, down to Seville (KC's sister city you know) and up to Madrid, flew out from there. I think that was a good mix of cities if you have the time. We flew AA KC > Chicago > Barcelona

we did most of the basic spain things you read about in each city. Wish we would have went down to Gibraltar but it's a PITA to get down there if you don't want to rent a car which we did not.

False alarm everyone. For the first time in forever we didn’t impulsively book a trip. Had it ready but backed off. Lots of smaller trips already planned so we will revisit a European location next year. I didn’t like the point situation and would rather wait.

In case you were wondering, I didn’t grow up or get smarter or anything, we are doing dry January so if we had this idea 2 weeks from now I’d be scrambling to figure out everything I booked last night right now.
