t-y

Monday through ??. May stay whole week. Definitely not weekend before because we have a baseball tournament. Possibly weekend at the end.

The 2 drinks per leg on alist preferred are pretty nice feature. That is when they actually don't blame the weather to not service the cabin which is happening ALL. THE. TIME.

technically I need ten more nights but I'll get either 4 or 6 for credit card spend this month. two nights in tulsa this weekend. then possibly a couple at the shitty hyatt place by my office in KC in December and then I'll mattress run whatever I have left at the hyatt place in omaha to get over the top. photo finish for sure.

Nice, I wish I could go back in time and stay at Hyatts instead of Marriotts all my work travel years. I'm lifetime platinum at marriott which rules, but now that i've used up all my points, we never stay there anymore because Hyatt redemptions are so much better.  :sdeek:

Marriott will gobble up Hyatt soon enough, they are weak.

Any good spring break recommendos for the SF family for 3-4 days? We normally don't head out for spring break but i'm thinking about a short trip this year. Was considering lake tahoe as i've never been, but the lack of SW direct flight and west coast travel for only a few days moves it close to the no go category. If someone were to say it's the best place ever, I might reconsider. I don't really have a specific type of place in mind. Just something a little different and fairly easy to get to that I can relax and have booze drinks and have some things for the kids to do outside of watching me have booze drinks.

I think Memphis + Graceland + the Pyramid Bass Pro Shops + Beale Street could be a nice little 3 day getaway. I bet kids would love graceland and the pyramid bass pro

I was staying at Flamingo last weekend and openly questioned who goes to that show.

Vegas was the reason I asked where he lived to see if he could get a quick direct to Vegas on Allegiant.  If he’s close to Wichita, their Allegiant flights are late at night. That’s a cool thing for a 12 year old. Sucks they closed Love, that was a good kid show. I don’t know if any of the other Cirq shows are good kid shows.

If he lived in Texas I was going to suggest waiting until a week out & trying to get a cheap cruise, but the more I think about it that’s probably not a good plan for spring break.

We have a week long fall break & I always take the week off. Last 3 years we’ve done New Orleans, Tampa/Orlando & Yosemite. If they were little younger, 3 days in New Orleans with a gator boat tour, riding the Streetcar, the market & the little kids amusement park in the park is a nice little get away.

It’s only 3 hours to Wall Drug.

From my perspective, they're all pretty close together and negligible as far as what would be most convenient to things, but I'm used to walking everywhere.  It'd probably be the same w/respect to uber/lyft.  But to the extent you care, Grand would be closest to the stadium on a straight line as well as to a light rail station.  Thomson wouldn't be too much further to the stadium and closest to the tourist waterfront and pike place.

I've stayed at Olive 8 and Grand.  My instinct would be that Olive 8 is the quietest/calmest, might have a better pool setup, there's condos on top of the hotel that share the amenities.  Grand more business-oriented.  Thompson maybe more adult (?) or trendy; they've got a rooftop bar.  Probably a little rougher at times in that area and could force you to have the fentanyl talk w/your kids sooner.

I can help you with some less-touristy-but-still-tourist good things.  Any of those hotels would be fine for anything you'd want to get to beyond the stadiums.  It'd be like an 8-block difference max among them.  If it happens to be false summer right then, I'll get you all out on the good water in my fleet of inflatable boats and paddleboards.

Aside from those 3, there's hyatt house near space needle (not cool) that's more residential.  The downtown Regency might be the newest and is kind of in concert w/the convention center.  Probably in between vibe-wise between Olive 8 and Grand.

If our downtown hellscape is too scary, the Regency in Renton could be good.  It's on the shore of the south part of lake washington and come spring (not sure if by April) there's a dockside bar/restaurant that's fun to hang at, and suburb stuff like top golf, shopping, etc. pretty close.
