Does the guy who operates the tower crane have a piss bucket up there? I hope so, looks like a 15 minute ladder climb each way.

Fun fact:  the tower crane I worked around had funnel at the top, hooked to 2 100' garden hoses and fed directly into a johnny on the job located at the base.

For really tall cranes (like 500'), they set a johnny up top and just never clean it out for a few years.  I was told 10 gallons of motor oil added to it will sit on top and keep the smell away.

Here's what may be a dumb question...

The existing light fixtures on the west side will be used for the upcoming season.  The north and south "towers" of the new facility will be built this fall, with the expectation that there will be at least a steel structure in place sometime during the season.

Will the light poles on the west side be tall enough to see over the new pressbox?  Will the new facility interfere with the lights, forcing us to play day games only (think 12/1 when Texas comes to town)?

Excellent question. Love talking about lights. 

I figure that if the west side lights were obstructed and it came down to a nighttime ESPN CTR game or daytime w/ not as prevalent of TV, they'd find a way to make it work. After all, K-State's first night game ever was in 1981 or 82 vs. KU on TBS. We brought in temporary lights. No reason we couldn't do that again, right? (Except that John Currie is an incredible tight-wad.)

Temporary lights can be brought in as well if needed.  ABC brought in extra lights that they put on top of the press box for the kstate vs Texas game during the Prince era.
