good grief zacker.

zacker gonna zacker, its just who he is I'm not even mad at him.  I do think the people continuing to argue with him and kim carnes and the others encouraging him need to take a walk.  A couple of posts like this are entertaining, a couple of pages of it is slightly annoying, the 15+ pages we are dealing with in a master thread is rough ridin' outrageous.

I'm stunned that people who think this at this volume is entertaining.  I'm glad he started a thread that we don't have to rough ridin' open if we don't want to.

On Marshall/Waters...

Waters and Nash came down for an unofficial during the season, and Nash left with an offer and Waters didn't.

Marshall was originally supposed to visit on 12/1, while Waters was coming on 12/8.

The visit pattern in the past for Snyder during December/January is preferential players first, backup plans second.

I'm not saying that we know Waters was a backup to Marshall, but if you believe this historical visit pattern under Snyder, he was 1B.

Thanks for the actual insight into LHCBS recruiting, but what do you mean by "supposed to visit"?

I think he had to cancel since they were having their championship game of some sort.

Thx, even so I wonder why we've heard so much less from Marshall. Seems like if Snyder really did give him the 1A tag like Panj suggested we would have heard something encouraging, indifferent, twitter bs, anything from him.

As the long distance conversation ended politely with best wishes exchanged, the 1st Team JUCO All-American finished with this...

"I'll talk to you tomorrow."

 Nash speaking to Wallace tonight^^

:crossfingers:

I think the bigger hint was the fact that he's announcing tomorrow without even taking a visit to OSU.

High school kids will commit to a school they've never visited all of the time because, frankly, they're naive and stupid.

JUCO kids don't have the luxury of screwing up that decision.  They need to see the campus, talk to the coaches, talk to the players, etc.

Nash is coming to KSU.

Big 12 champs with 7 juco starters on D.  Seems like that should be an easy sell to a juco D player.

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink

Kids make what seem to us as stupid decisions all the time for what seem like stupid reasons. To me if a player right now picks ku over ksu then they were too dumb to play for us anyway. But that's just me.

What the eff are you talking about?

Mangino beat Snyder in 2004 as Snyder's recruiting was failing following high level success on the field, we squeaked one out at home (we scored 12 points) in 2004, then Mangino beat Ron 4 times in a row.
Was the fourth one at his house or in a bar.  :dunno:

Dodge City CC DL Marcus Hardison says coaching changes making decision tough. es.pn/XdcQGW (INSIDER)

All of the coaching changes going on across the country have made Marcus Hardison task of choosing a school increasingly difficult.

Hardison, a 6-foot-4, 275-pound defensive end from Dodge City Community College, is one of the nation’s most coveted junior college prospects.

Kansas State, Arizona State, Arkansas, Baylor, Indiana, Kansas, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, South Florida, TCU, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and West Virginia are just a few of the schools that have offered.

Ask him to name his favorites, though, and his mind wonders with confusion.

“I couldn’t do a top five since all these coaching changes,” Hardison said. “I wouldn’t know.”

Some of the schools jumbled at the top of his list are Kansas State, West Virginia, Arizona State, Washington, South Florida, Auburn and Indiana.

“I told Baylor no already,” Hardison said. “Texas Tech dropped out because coach [Tommy Tuberville] left. Florida State dropped out because Coach [Mark] Stoops left, West Virginia is in there. Who knows.”

Hardison has taken official visits to Texas Tech, Arizona State and West Virginia. He’ll visit Kansas State this weekend.

He already visited the Wildcats on an unofficial visit when they faced Texas in their regular season finale.

“I just want to see how I feel around there really,” he said. “I fit pretty good there. I have liked all the visits that I have been on. There weren’t too many negatives or anything like that.”

Hardison did say it was a plus that Kansas State’s roster is littered with other juco players.

“That’s a plus, most definitely.”

There are plenty of plusses to Hardison’s game.

A second-team all-conference player last year as a freshman, Hardison has a redshirt year available and two seasons of eligibility at the next level.

He’s coachable, humble and feels like he still has his best football in front of him.

“I’m just big and athletic,” he said. “I just play football. I just try to play. I am quick off the line. Coaches like to see that quick twitch. I can get off the line and use my hands well.”

Trying to figure out how to narrow his list of suitors down to a manageable number has been difficult. But he’s using a few criteria to help him out.

“I usually start out with my location and what is close to home,” said Hardison, who grew up in Florida but whose family largely resides in Texas and Louisiana. “That’s what I usually start off with. If you have something going for you and I have the opportunity I will definitely look into it.”

He also looks at what his chances for early playing time will be and also the coaching staff, and the likelihood of their sticking around while he is on campus.

“I know a lot of coaches these days like to go to another job,” he said. “When head coaches leave then most of the staff leaves. I’m trying to go in and have a relationship with the same coaches, and not have to start new ones.”

Hardison said he’ll take his last official visit to Washington at a date not yet determined and likely make his decision on signing day.

Jesus christ, Is this kid a brain doctor? Why is he at Junior College? This is the most informed non-hype recruiting decision I have ever seen a kid make.

it's totally like logical.. or something bizarre like that.

Hard to get a read on this kid, But I think we are doing as well as anybody. We are the closer to Texas to the teams that are getting officials and the fact he is coming back for an official has to be a solid for us. Smarter jucos should be easy for us to land, all we have to say is we have sent 32 to the NFL and 27 have been All-Big 12. I don't think anybody can come close to those numbers.

JFC, boys. There comes a time in your life where you realize reality. I hope coach goes down with this team, but truth is, he won't. We need to prepare for the future, NOW. I believe in bill as HC with any random recruit, but truth is, we need to leave something behind. Who thought bill would retire with a NC birth (this year)?-------> raising hand.

<---not butthurt

Every school in the world has one phrase to say that will throw doubt in every recruits mind..."Just how long do you think LHCBS will be there?"

Really can't believe you all are too Kstate0 to figure out that is exactly what is happening.

Bill Obrien to Waters - "Yea, KSU was good this year, but just how long do you think LHCBS will be there for you to be coached by? And how many Pro QB's has he produced? And did you know he wants his kid, the ST coordinator to take over, but the AD won't let that happen, so you could get caught up in the middle of a major power struggle. On top of that, there is a lot of hype on this #LIFE kid...you know, he got louder ovations than Klein got when he'd come in the game late in mop up time. Since you've only got 2 years of eligibility left, I can guarantee you that I'll be your coach. Sure, we may not be able to play in bowl games, but you'd rather have the chance to play than to deal with all that garbage, possibly for a different HC right? You could be a legend on this campus if you sign here in spite of our recent NCAA Sanctions...you would be adored like you've never imagined. Oh, did I mention that I know & coached Tom Brady?"
All ways love this talking point, people never realize that NFL coach have never develop a guy for the league because they are all ready working with NFL QBs. Just a stupid talking point.

18-20 year old kids believe just about whatever the hell a recruiting coach will tell them. Believing anything else is a stupid rough ridin' talking point.

I was looking through are past recruiting class (2008, 2009, 2010) and how we have won at a high level in the last two year is evidence that out of each recruiting class you only 6-9 good players, rating class deeper then 14 recruits is just stupid. All three of those class as a whole are super shitty, but ended up being a foundation for a big 12 championship team.

Yes.

A pretty big part of that foundation was two highly rated transfers who were the type of recruits KSU would never be able to sign straight out of high school
