What kind of equipment?  I've seen all kinds of pictures of OSU's weightroom and unless they've got some kind of super secret stealth section they don't have anything K-State doesn't have.

Currie has this under control.  A chin-up bar is a chin-up bar dax.  I mean if this prima-donna can't lift some free weights, do some push-ups and then hit the showers then we don't need him.

While I appreciate the sarcasm KK . . . I watch these OSU videos, and yeah their stuff is certainly nicer than ours in terms of cosmetics and general gizmo stuff (gizmos, you know, fancy stuff), but  I haven't seen anything from a core athletic performance perspective that OSU has, that K-State doesn't have.   This isn't Rocky IV with OSU as Dolph Lundgren lifting weights with LED meters wearing satin short shorts and K-State as Rocky shoving a wheelbarrow full of bricks through the snow wearing a meat packers stocking cap here . . . 1980's Brigitte Nielsen optional.

There locker room honestly doesnt look that nice. Yes it's nice, but its not Texas or Alabammer or Oregon.
Ours is not that far behind theirs. Everybody goes WOW when you hear they spent 270 Million, but thats because they were lagging so far behind, it took that much money. KSU is definitely above average in the Football Facilities Department.

We aren't defenitively better than anyone in the Big 12.  With ISU's new building under construction, all of TCU's new stuff, Baylor's new building, we are at the bottom, maybe with WVU, but they have a huge weightroom.   Now I admit this is like being #10 on the list of the 10 best restaurants in a major city, but its still 10th in a 10 team league.

I am talking player/admin facilities.   Again, we're not talking a range from 5 Star Hotel (OU, Texas, OSU) to concrete floors and hooks on the wall (K-State) here . . . so its all relative.

Probably the worst thing of all is the fact that K-State could have blurred the lines significantly and with a high degree of permenance 7 or 8 years ago, but now the permenance of what was actually done, makes it that much more expensive to correct.   It wouldn't have taken as much money as people think either.   But a certain someone wasn't willing to put up with the inconviences of the process . . . but that was covered up by some BS about not wanting to take away from others.

Probably a draw.  KU's practice/training complex is newer and nicer.  They don't have an indoor football facility, though.  BSFS may be nicer than Memorial, but that's debatable.  Until the WestSide is complete, BSFS will continue to be pretty shitty.  the westside shitters still have shower curtains for doors.

UT, OU, OSU, Tech all have nicer facilities.  hands down.  Baylor, TCU, WVU are probably on par.  But Baylor is building a brand new stadium.  TCU is in midst of $105mil renovation.  KSU is down with KU, ISU, and WVU.

WestSide Addition will make a huge difference.  With a renovated weightroom and player accomodations, KSU will be right up there.  I would also like to see player specific accomodations that don't involve Haymaker.

In addition, the usual suspects on Wabash and stomp up and down about how unfair it is, and how Gundy dirty recruited Snyder and yell about OSU's graduation rates, and how K-State has a better jump program (which is really K-State has a better HIGH JUMP program and that's it).

But a 17-18 ACT kid doesn't care about intrinsic values, and mentoring, and all the touchy-feely stuff, and whether K-State ran all over OSU LAST YEAR (but OSU STILL won the game, and won the Big 12, and won a BCS bowl and is 41-11 over the last 4 years).

With everything that is happening, we will definitely be top of Big 12 in facilities.  Our BBPF is going to be the nicest in the Big 12 (lots of bells and whistles that recruits like).

Football Phase 3 is the new 20,000 sq ft locker room.  Without a doubt that thing will put us near the top.  So far new buildings have meant new equipment for the players.  The BBPF is getting all new weight and fitness equipment.

With record donations, I see us moving on to Phase 3 immediately.  Currie wants all those bells and whistles for the football complex too.

Well, that's probably one reason why he and Snyder don't get along.

I always enjoy this stuff . . . at OSU apparently its an anything goes kind of thing, players do whatever they want, whenever they want with no accountability, whereas at K-State . . . players are "prepared for life".

The next one would seemingly contradict my facilities matter stance . . . but they aren't the only thing.   However some are now leaning on the fact that Gundy's success is entirely related to T. Boone Pickens money/facilities.    Well, if it were just based on facilities, North Carolina (for example) should challange for the ACC and National Championship every season, but they don't.

Gundy is a good coach, who learned he needed to quit calling plays . . . he's got an exciting high powered system, a youthful approach and is running the kind of program that 18 year olds are drawn to . . . OSU has raised the bar because they had no other choice, unless they wanted to be completely blown away by OU.   Nobody forced Pickens to give OSU the money, and they've had other big time donors step up as well.   They're going to be a force in the Big 12 for a long time IMO.

I like that snyder has shared his "16 goals".

http://www.kstatesports.com/16goals/

They are catchy, easy to remember, relevant, and well-defined. My personal favorite goal is "Great Effort".

Nobody on this board buys that crap and none of us parrot it either.  We got out-recruited and out-facilitied by a younger more aggressive coach who won the conference.  We cannot expect that to reverse until we win the conference.
