Only 3 games back in the WC you gotta try

I'd still trade Lugo if they can get a decent return. He's gone next year and even if they sneak in to the wildcard, it most likely ends like it did last year when they face legit playoff teams. I know baseball is weird and anything can happen, but these bats aren't winning any playoff series. Trade Lugo and hope you end up like the Tigers last year by still making the wildcard and then kicking ass in 2026. Playing the Pirates is fun though!!!!!
Not a bad idea at all. See what we can get for him and move up a little.

Hey guys. It's me Greg. Who do I need to call to help clean this place up. I know that there may be like less than 50 consistent users but I would like to offer my assistance. I know Saul used to do alot of the backend admin for this place but if we need someone to kind of help keep it up I would like to help. Feel free to Pm me or have winters reach out. Love you all. The mass posting this morning from the bot is concerning.

They need someone to hit baseballs but I do not know enough about other MLB teams to identify who that is.
Upgrade in the outfield and a guy who can for sure hit baseballs is important for the 'yals if they want to make a playoff push.

My top targets of who we could get without giving much up but would be an upgrade in the outfield are the following.
Bryan Reynolds Pirates RF ------> https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/bryan-reynolds-668804?stats=statcast-r-hitting-mlb
Taylor Ward Angels LF ------------> https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/taylor-ward-621493?stats=statcast-r-hitting-mlb
Cedric Mullins Orioles CF ----------> https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/cedric-mullins-656775?stats=statcast-r-hitting-mlb

Which album? The old ones are fantastic

looks like it was Morning View
That would have ripped. I saw Jimmy Eat World play the entirety of Bleed American in front of Fall Out Boy in OKC a few years back. I love album shows. Glad that artists are doing them for release anniversaries

This looks good. But it might be one of those where the trailer is so good that I might be let down by the full movie. Man, the art of trailer editing has skyrocketed the last 10 years. People say it's cliche now to have a reworked popular song but I love it when it makes sense like this. I might read the book first. I read The Martian after watching the The Martian so I'd like to do it the other way around.

Can't recommend the book enough. It was very good. I am excited about the show/movie but to me i do think it showed too much...

The Daddy trend is weird and started with all of the temu looking merch that has been sold since the beginning of his second term. My girlfriends relative (sweet old grandman) had this in her yard when we pulled up for Christmas.  I wish i was kidding...

Kids annual travel baseball tourney this weekend. 3 straight days of eating small chain hotel breakfast buffet, followed by whatever you can find for lunch at the ballpark and then mostly pizza for dinner. Also boozed like I haven't boozed in a long time every single day and night. I am freaking wrecked this morning. This one is going to take a couple days to recover from.
might I suggest some steak and eggs and a gallon of hot black coffee to help you through the healing process.

Currently fasting to attempt a reset. Trying to make it past a lunch workout, but don't know if it's going to happen.  :Yuck:

The best way to flush toxins is to shove more inside so there's no room for the old ones. Repeat as necessary.
I find a massive chef salad usually cleans me out quite nicely

This radio has been my most played on spotify this week. Every song is new and fun other than the oddball older indie songs.

Been a weird go round of shows for us the last few weeks.
Finished Season 3 of Fargo
Finished Season 2 of Handmaids tale
Started Season 4 of The Bear which came out yesterday (which has been good so far, will probably finish Friday evening)

Here’s a delicious and spirited tailgating menu for the upcoming K-State vs. Iowa State game in the fall of 2025:

Main Courses
   •   K-State Wildcat Chili: Hearty beef, beans, tomatoes, onions, and chili chowder—classic and warming
   •   Iowa State Salsa Steak Sandwiches: Grilled ribeyes with salsa?sour cream spread on hoagie buns—easy to prep and grill
   •   BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches: Slow?cooked pork shoulder with coleslaw—tailgate staple near Manhattan

Sides & Appetizers
   •   Grilled Bacon Wrapped Corn: Iowa style corn on the cob wrapped in bacon, brushed with ranch—an homage to Iowa harvest
   •   Spicy Edamame Pods: Perfect Midwest twist, skewered with chili seasoning
   •   Beef Pinwheels & Chili Cheese Dog Dip: Great nibblers from Kansas Farm Food’s playbook
   •   Jalapeño Poppers: Cream cheese?filled, bacon wrapped—universally loved

Cold Salads & Make Ahead Snacks
   •   Italian Pasta Salad: Keep it cold, fresh, and easy to serve
   •   Snack Mix & Kettle Corn: Sweet salty combos like Honey roasted peanuts, kettle corn—ideal for grazing
   •   Scotcheroos: Rice crispy treats with chocolate topping—grab and go Iowa favorite

Dips & Crowd Pleasers
   •   Million-Dollar Dip: Rich, cheesy, bacon-packed—crowd pleaser
   •   ** Buffalo Chicken Dip**: A Midwestern tailgate classic in a crockpot
   •   Rotel Sausage Dip: Southern hit with minimal effort

Dessert
   •   Seven Layer Bars (no bake!) or Pecan Pie: Simple sweet finishes, both portable and satisfying
   •   Grilled Donuts: Heat store bought donuts on the grill for that toasty goodness

Drinks
   •   Powercat Purple Punch (non?alcoholic): Grape/lemon soda, lemonade concentrate, blueberries—game day themed
   •   Iowa Old Fashioned: Bourbon + corn syrup tie in celebrating Iowa’s corn heritage
   •   (Optional) Black Magic Cocktail: For a spicy kick—bourbon, chili liqueur, cinnamon twist

Tailgating Tips
   •   Prep ahead: Dips, desserts, and sandwiches travel best if made the day before.
   •   Bring warming gear: Crockpots or insulated dispensers for chili/soup.
   •   Team spirit setup: Decor in purple/silver for K-State or cardinal/gold for ISU – tablecloths, plates, napkins
   •   Pack utensils & games: Cornhole, KanJam, plus essentials like serving spoons and plates.

This menu balances Midwest tradition, team pride, and easy prep—so you spend less time cooking and more time cheering. Good luck on game day!
Oh great. Clams has programmed the AI that are taking over the site how to tailgate....

how do you plan on getting all of this food on an airplane?
Well you see great question but not a problem i have. We are watching the game at a relatives house so really just need to get it from KC back to ICT the weekend of the game.
Wait, so the tailgate is actually going to happen in Wichita, not Ireland?
The list you made above looks pretty awesome.
Yeah we are not going to Ireland, would have been cool but I just started a new job and not a lot of time off. So doing it down in Wichita with my family.

Thanks for the kudos on the list. If anyone has any ideas to add let me know.

I don't know that it's the 32x best burger in KC as they advertise, but the Westport Flea Market burger is quite good

It is quite good
Can confirm. It was very tasty.
oh did you get the trivia time right this time Greg?!
I DID! Hope to catch you sometime.

What would a Manhattan area spread look like these days? I haven't been back in years. A pan full of Rusty's burgers and fries would have been the most iconic thing when I was living there.
So my thoughts are as follows and kind of basic.
Manhattan Brewing Company Beers
Alma Cheese Curds and Sausage (Not explicitly Manhattan but adjacent)
Fanestil Party Time ham which is a family favorite (Not explicitly Manhattan but adjacent)
Burger Sliders made of KSTATE BEEF from Call Hall
Homemade Chipotle Raspberry Bean Dip like so long
Homemade Dang Quesadillas from the Chef (which i make monthly and am DANG close to perfecting)
Some sort of pastries from the Little Batch Bakery.

What is going on everyone. I was put in a family groupchat this morning to figure out the tailgate spread for the Aer Lingus Classic as we are less than 2 months away!  :ksu:

Not gonna lie Irish food kind of sucks balls so I am planning on doing a big ole kansas sampler with some of my favorite foods replicated or things that I can buy. What is on your Kansas Dream tailgating spread? Keep in mind that I would like to keep things that I can fit on two full size baking sheets.

Current Ideas. A Manhattan area spread on one tray and a Kansas City spread on the other. Would do beer pairings from both areas along with a Guiness for ireland of course.

The game is at 11am.

Also feel free to put your best tailgates /gameday spreads throughout the season here!

And I dont think I'll ever see another arena show, they almost always disappoint
The only arena show I've ever seen that didn't disappoint was Springsteen and I was close up on the floor. Sturgill Simpson at the Cable Dahmer way probably the last I'll ever do. The sightlines are just horrible at arena shows unless you're looking straight on.

I mostly agree unless you are close. Side stage and close is also pretty good IMO. It sucks if you are in a back corner or far away on the sides though. The sound can also be shitty in those locations. I was in St Lou at their big arena and was on the side, but just in front of the back corner and there was a bad echo from there. It completely ruined the show.
Big side stage guy. Tickets are always cheaper and close to the action but not in the pit.

This came in the mail today.

Hard back box set is so hot. I was gifted the paper backs 1-6 in the 2nd grade and went with my sister to the midnight release of deathly hallows book that summer.
