Kansas State Football / Game Torrents?
« on: July 20, 2012, 07:49:41 AM »
hey fellas.  i would really enjoy watching some of our games from last year.  anyone willing to share?

2
Chasing away good assistants (Leavitt)
Keeping good recruits away with nazi oversight and stalking to enforce compliance
Micromanaging LHC Bill Snyder
Driving LHC Bill Snyder into a second retirement
Replacing LHC Bill Snyder with a terrible coach
Pissing off donors who begin holding back funding
Making K-State athletics completely uncompetitive
Potentially land us outside of a BCS conference with his complete ineptitude next time the realignment wheel spins

Please add your own

I feel so helpless.  There's got to be a way to undo what has been done.  Currie's actions signal that he's purposely trying to kill our basketball program and it's too painful to just sit back and watch it happen.

4
Who would be on it?  He said on air that he would be bringing this guy in, who was an ace recruiter at UNC and Michigan State.  Also alluded to potentially keeping some of the current staff, probably Underwood.  Who else?

The list of men's basketball coaches who apparently don't want the Nebraska job is growing.

Three sources Tuesday told The World-Herald that Wichita State's Gregg Marshall was offered the NU job, likely at an annual salary of at least $2 million.

Two of those sources said Marshall has turned it down, while the third said Marshall wasn't showing any interest. Two of those sources have direct access to Marshall, who didn't return messages left by The World-Herald.

Two other sources said that Nebraska reached out through a third party to Gonzaga's Mark Few and Colorado's Tad Boyle to gauge interest, but neither wanted to be involved.

Interviews on Tuesday with three coaches who are still in the NCAA tournament or have direct ties to such teams said the coaching grapevine is in virtual agreement in the following thoughts on VCU's Shaka Smart and Ohio's John Groce:

Both are expected to stay at their schools if they don't find jobs they want at higher-profile basketball schools than Nebraska.

Last week, sources confirmed that UCLA's Ben Howland turned down an offer from Nebraska.

Also apparently out of contention is former UNLV star, NBA player and college and NBA coach Reggie Theus.

A coaching friend of Theus said Tuesday night that a high-ranking Nebraska official responded to notes seeking entry into the search that Theus "wouldn't be a candidate at this point.''

Nebraska has interviewed Oral Roberts' Scott Sutton and may have directly discussed the job with Colorado State's Tim Miles and Wisconsin-Milwaukee's Rob Jeter.

Tuesday was the 11th day since Nebraska fired Doc Sadler.

(Scenario assumes we beat ISU) - If OU wins we win a share of the conference championship.  If OSU wins we jump OU in the conference standings and with so many of the top 10 losing tonight we're probably BCS bound.

Did anybody here attend private schools, or have kids that attend private schools?  Is it worth it?

Kansas State Football / So this is what losing feels like...
« on: October 29, 2011, 06:33:50 PM »
Guess I forgot with all that winning we've been doing lately.

At least we have our ridiculous good looks and mountains of cash to fall back on.

For those who missed last years gem:

Sorry for the shitty quality, taken with an i-phone.  These guys are all at an event going on right now at Johnson Dr and Woodland in KC.

Let's see how many coaches you can name?  (Hint: Self is there too, but not actually in the picture.)

Wish the rest of the world would stop being posers, always trying to copy off of us. :users:

The trend began, naturally, with engineers, when Kansas State University's engineering library went primarily bookless in 2000.

Essentially Flyertalk / Super big merged threads on one topic

Makes me want to click on them less, you know?  Kind of like a TL;DR thing.

If there's a new article/update released on a popular subject, I want to know about that.  I'm not going to comb through 96 pages of crap to find it though.

Essentially Flyertalk / Best Queso?
« on: April 06, 2011, 05:46:21 PM »
I admit I'm a queso fiend.  Love me some chips 'n dip.  What's the best stuff you've ever had?  (Break in to two categories: Restaurant and Home-Made.)

I love some Rotel + Velveeta with some various fresh veggies and spices (jalapenos are mandatory) thrown in to a crockpot for home-made.  Haven't made up my mind yet on the restaurant stuff.  Tried a lot of good, but not great varieties.

Please post your answer here so I can make a list of people who are smart and people who are dumb.  TIA.

(or at least, if our generation were the type to become tuck when we get older..)

Jake is going to be the guy that is constantly brought up in every basketball conversation.  Just like the tucks now who bring up Ernie Barrett, Mitch Richmond, and Lon Kruger in every K-state bball convo, our generation is going to bring up Jake.  When we lose, we are going to say things like "We just need to recruit someone like Jake Pullen and we'll be back on our feet."  Just like the tucks now compare every white point guard who can shoot a 3 to Steve Henson, we're going to do the same (with some of the details changed) with Jake.  When we reminisce about some of the greatest ksu bball memories we have, they'll likely be dominated by games which Jake played in.  Guy's an all time great and could do it all, defend, score, lead, and it feels bad knowing he's done wearing a K-State jersey.

love you jake.

Anyone have a good explanation for this?
