There's a difference between ugly, grinding out JYC style games, and this sloppy crap that we've thrown on the floor for a lot of this season. A lot of really terrible turnovers and a lot of bad positioning (mostly with big men.)
What's to blame for this? Lack of experience? Stupidity?

The exposure of being on TV almost every game, the prestige of being a top 5 team, the new practice facilities, the new 'K-State brand' (IE: OOD, Frank's intensity and all the air time it gets, new uni's, etc.)
Seems like the pieces are there to bring in some highly ranked guys. Is it reasonable for us to expect our staff to start landing top 50 guys again?

Based on the 2 exhibition games, some observations:
Mcgruder is long and can hit the outside shot, but inconsistent.
Irving may be the best option defensively, but has marginal ball handling and offensive skills.
Spradling has the most intensity and is decent all around, but not great in any one area. May lack the speed to defend elite guards.
Russel is the best in transition, but has defensive lapses.
Williams is quick and can hit the outside shot, unsure about the other stuff.
Peterson is ?
Southwell is long and very athletic
Myles is...Canadian.
Out of that group..who should get the majority of the minutes opposite Pullen?

2) His length
3) We need a guard opposite Pullen who can shoot it from deep

DT may not throw the prettiest ball, but we don't throw it that much anyways. Getting both Thomas and Powell on the field at the same time (and Coffman off the field) can't be a bad thing.

Please get loud when the huskers are huddled up. Don't wait for them to get the line. Martinez is a frosh, he'll get rattled, and the whole point of getting loud is to make it hard for them to communicate. By the time they get to the line they're done communicating. Our fans have been pretty bad about this in the past.

Essentially Flyertalk / ESPN3 on consoles

The beta version was just released for those who signed up for it on 360. It will supposedly be coming to similar devices as Netflix (not just consoles, but blueray players, etc) in the next 18-24 months.
It's pretty slick. Higher quality (Could be HD?) and much smoother. Live games, Game replays, Several different ESPN shows including sportscenter on demand, Mike & Mike, Around the Horn, Rome is burning, etc.
Far superior than watching this stuff on my PC.

Haven't really paid much attention to teams outside of the emaws lately, but I caught a few of the NU vs WU game. I was curious if their defense was going to be good again or if last year was a flukish product of having a few outstanding players (Suh being the primary focus.) It looks like they will be.
Wasn't it only 3-4 years ago their defense was absolutely horrible and Cosgrove was in danger of being lynched? What's changed to make them so much better so quickly? If your answer is better athletes, then an additional question: If Callahan/Cosgrove were still coaches would the defense be as good with these same players?
