When our generation is old and tuck...
« on: March 20, 2011, 04:18:24 PM »
(or at least, if our generation were the type to become tuck when we get older..)

Jake is going to be the guy that is constantly brought up in every basketball conversation.  Just like the tucks now who bring up Ernie Barrett, Mitch Richmond, and Lon Kruger in every K-state bball convo, our generation is going to bring up Jake.  When we lose, we are going to say things like "We just need to recruit someone like Jake Pullen and we'll be back on our feet."  Just like the tucks now compare every white point guard who can shoot a 3 to Steve Henson, we're going to do the same (with some of the details changed) with Jake.  When we reminisce about some of the greatest ksu bball memories we have, they'll likely be dominated by games which Jake played in.  Guy's an all time great and could do it all, defend, score, lead, and it feels bad knowing he's done wearing a K-State jersey.

love you jake.

not sure how anyone could forget beasley but since he was only here for a year people werent as sentimentally attached to him so he will probably be brought up less than jake.  plus we will probably never have another like beasley, but we will always have fresh/soph guards we are going to want to turn into jake.

Pullen was better than Lon Kruger.

Mitch isn't fair.  The guy was an NBA star.

Barrett is like 100 years old.  No need to even try to compare them because the game of basketball has changed so much since man learned how to fly in aerial contraptions.

This thread is truth.

I certainly never saw Kruger play, but how do you say that definitively?  Back when players couldn't play their freshman year, Kruger was Big 8 Sophomore of the Year, then Big 8 Player of the Year, then Big 8 Player of the Year.  Plus, two conference championships and two Elite 8 appearances.

I'm certainly not knocking Pullen (he belongs in the rafters as an all-timer) and obviously he has piled up more stats than Kruger.  But that's a tough comparo.

And of course, the rough ridin' tucks will forget Beasley.

Beasley will probably get the same treatment that Waymon Tisdale got from OU because right now it looks like Beasley's career is an exact clone of Tisdale's.

Of course Beas will have to learn how to play an instrument to get the full Tisdale experience.

Tell them Clemente was a better point guard than Henson, and they'll start tugging on their Wranglers and US Polo Assn. shirts they bought at Kohls.

Say that he should have his jersey retired instead of Henson, and they'll come at you with a shoe.

I hope Toby Keith writes a song about Beasley
